Hey guys! Roku Remote not working and won't pair? In this video I go through how to pair a Roku remote that won't pair with your Roku player. Before getting a new Roku remote I would try out this method to fix the remote and pair it. I ran into this problem with the Roku remote and fixed it through some trial and error. Hope this walkthrough helps in explaining how to fix your Roku remote and pair it with your player.

OMG!! This totally worked and saved us from buying a new remote (even though they’re not expensive) but it’s just the hassle of not having a remote that doesn’t connect. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
You just SAVED MY SANITY!!! Switched out the batteries three times and turned to Google. This was the first thing that came up and it worked instantly. THANK YOU!!! :))))
THE FIX ! Finally, a solution to pair my Roku remote with my 2016 Roku Stick.
Removed batteries from remote. Unplugged Roku player. Put batteries back in remote. Plug Roku power on. You are the man!

I have a different kind of remote so...
We just recently purchased a ROKU ULTRA model and as we are getting to know it better we are loving it! Our setup is a 55 inch Samsung Smart TV and for sound we use a Bose Wave radio (one of the original models -- have had it forever but it still works wonderful.) So I forgot to mute the radio and turn the sound on the TV up. Imagine my surprise when after several attempts to no longer hear the sound and properly set up the remote I realized that I hadn't turned up the TV volume and muted to Wave radio. So after all of this not working I couldn't get the remote to power off / on the TV. This video saved our bacon and we really appreciate it. Thank you and thanks greatly for sharing this.
I had set up my TV this way and it worked perfectly. But I bought a new TV and I completely forgot how I did it. And you were 100% spot on, thank you so much.

You are the man! Your specific instructions worked for resetting a Roku Ultra remote, where as the factory OEM website instructions did not! Bravo!

Granddaughter's inexpensive Insignia Roku TV's remote had limited functions, i.e. only power button and down arrow worked. It does not have a pairing button. I tried resetting the TV using its button but no luck. So, saw this vid and unplugged the TV, removed remote batteries, plugged TV back in, turned on then reinstalled the remote batteries. It works now. Thank you! (Ps. Sorry I did the TV reset because had to load favorites again.)

Finally. Thank you. One tip...literally be close to the tv when doing these steps so that the remote pairs. Just figured this out after trying for a whole day and disconnecting my internet, changing batteries multiple times.

Unpairing the remote by holding the home+back+reset button and then repairing was what go it to work for me. Thanks!
Well Folks, I figured it out. For the one's That Don't Have a reset button on your remote control. Try to find One on the back of your device. That's where I found my reset button. I just unplugged everything again and noticed it. I also took the batteries out of the remote. I waited for a few minutes and Then I pushed the reset button and plugged the device in again. The Roku, Popped up on the TV screen Finally. Then I put in the batteries and I was ready to go. Hope this helps someone

Thank you kindly for the remedy ! I, believe the obstacle that most were encountering, was the Roku, pairing instructions, which direct you to press and hold the reset button for 3 seconds for pairing, when it is not necessary, in order to reestablish a pairing.

THANKS!! It worked on my Roku stick. Although, all I did was reset the remote and take batteries out and put them back in. I didn't need to reset the Roku.

Mine kept pairing and then wouldn't work, and when i re=paired it it would sometimes show "battery 100%" in the corner of the screen blinking constantly, kept doing it, new batteries, etc. re-pairing normally kept diong the same thing, figured might be battery contacts or something, but i wasn't getting the led on the remote lighting sometimes. but doing the above steps fixed it, been working for a while now, THANK YOU!

Hi. Nice video. It didnt help me, my remote appears to be dead. I get all the way thru the steps, blinking, advanced pairing and all, but still no joy. My remote began to work less and less over a weekend. repeatedly pressing buttons worked for a while, but stopped. Yes, new batteries.
At least I learned to pair my broken remote. I shot you a like :).
