This is a nice green cracked ice acrylic fountain pen that (for PENBBS) writes really well.
The PENBBS 491 is now occasionally available in several acrylics via their Etsy shop and other sellers on eBay, so it’s worth keeping a look out to see what colours become available.

I do like the acrylic, well nice. I definitely think i'd buy one in that acrylic if i see one for sale.
Thanks, Rob. You are a danger to my poor bank account. LOL

Excellent review! I like the seamless design between the cap and clip. The eyedropper ink capacity is phenomenal. I will have to look for it. The dryness of the nib is fine for me, given that I am left handed.

Hi Rob. The cracked ice finish is very attractive. I think I only own one PENBBS and that is a plain demonstrator. I am always too late to catch all the nice colours. As you say, they quickly sell out. I wish the company could increase production just a little to prevent having to constantly watch Etsy for new releases before they're all sold. It's hard enough finding a decent tomato or a cucumber these days in the UK! I'm sure PENBBS have lost quite a few sales due to poor availability. Anyway, it's a nice pen and a good writer.

I’ve had very good luck with PenBBS. Interesting acrylics, nibs better than average, and they hit way above their price point. Occasionally I’ve had a dry nib but that is easily rectified.

That is a beautiful material. I started down the PenBBS path a few years ago and then gave up. I prefer broader nibs, and I don't have time to watch the site like a hawk to get the best offerings. That being said, I appreciate the fact that they are always trying new things (even if some fail) and that they aren't just copying other manufacturers' designs. I felt better about giving them my money than, say, Jinhao.
