I’ve had a black dial version for over a decade. Perfect travel watch and it’s been around the world many times. Lightest and most comfortable watch I’ve ever had. The minuscule weight being distributed over a wide bracelet and sweet spot 42mm case. Slimline. Just gets the job done. My favourite secret feature being the repetition minutes chimes. Just reach across in the dark in the middle of the night and count out the time without being blinded by the light. You either get this piece or you don’t but I love mine despite the fiddly crown. Still gets plenty of wrist time all these years down the line, it’s just so different from anything else.
I also tried on the supersized new 43.5mm size and can’t understand why they needed to make it larger. Just doesn’t work. Take a look at the 42mm version you’ll pick up a used one for a give away price. Just a perfect everyday piece that gets a double take by a lot of people when they see the dual displays. Eddy Izzard used to have a white dial one and Prince Harry no less 🤣
i saw another youtube watch reviewer and they were just reading off a script, presumably some sort of teleprompter. it makes me appreciate what you do more, with all of the life and energy you bring to what you're saying. as well as the knowledge and experience and extensive details in your reviews.
This is my all time favourite Breitling, absolutely love it. Hopefully one day I'll be able to get my hands on one. Orient used to make a similar looking ana-digi but they rarely come up on eBay and are priced as such. Looking forward to see what your next big purchase will be!
For that reason, I bought an older 40mm model, from 1998, full set. I had the convenience of trying a larger 42mm model on at the same time, as the dealer had the both in stock. It's my one and only watch, gets its solid use professionallly, and Id be lost with out it.
I went for the previous 42mm version, which I think is about is perfect. It has luminescent markers rather than numerals which makes the dial look more balanced and a slightly larger hour hand. It's a better size and only 10.4mm thick, so wears really well on a wide range of wrist sizes. The really crazy thing about my one is the accuracy, which has been correct to the second for the past year!
Get yourself Casio Oceanus S100 or T200. You'll get GSeiko finishing level on full titanium watch with atomic clock synchronisation. Thank me later. I just got mine flown to Perth month ago and it wipes the floor with anything below 2k AUD
Almost scratched that itch myself many years ago while visiting the U.S.A. , but pulled the trigger on a Tissot T Touch Titanium instead. The Tissot boasted a few more features such as compass and barometer and altimeter as well as the chronograph , countdown time alarms etc. The Breitling certainly had it's own charms for sure. Cheers M.
I have the early1990's Gen 2 version; been in my collection for the last 20yrs, my beater travel watch light an unobtrusive and the gmt is good. Always loved the ana/digi display especially the application of the hands/whacky layout....it's pretty knackered to be honest, it needs a complete overhaul for sure, this vid has prompted consideration of that. Cheers
I have a 7 inch wrist and wear a far larger watch, the GlashutteOoriginal Panorama date 43. with a 15 mm thickness. Its on canvas and I have to say it is so comfortable and the design makes it superb!
Jodi, I own a reference e79362 Aerospace from the early 2000's and I use it everyday everywhere, and this last Saturday I bought a canvas strap at my local Breitling boutique and it just looks amazing on olive drab canvas. Sad to see you sold it! Cheers from Puerto Rico.
Sorry it didn't work out for you. Looks great! I wear larger pieces all the time, so it'd be quite at home for me, but with so many dozens of watches I'd never give it the wrist time it needs. Good to see this. Thanks for sharing it.
I have a Dunhill DM7 which uses the same movement. It's a bugger to set when you change the battery. You couldn't get however a more different looking watch with that movement (which must be stuffed into the Dunhill case). Somehow I think it works better in the Dunhill than on the Breitling. Don't you just hate it though when you get the thing you think you want but it just isn't what you thought it would be. You've done well to cut and run. At least the itch got a scratching
I had one of the very first ones, in titanium on a leather strap. The ana-digi movement and display was EXACTLY the same as in my Rado Diastar Ceramic Multifunction.
You need to review the Casio lineage titanium. It's like the breitling (analog/digital, titanium, sapphire glass), but only $180 on eBay shipped from Japan.
Agree, almost no reviews of this line or the oceanus. I got one in europe for 110euros, it goes for 310 usually. A sale this big wouldn't exist if it was talked about more.
Evo: Personal take is the watch is too big and the dial too busy. My E75362 has all the features (save backlighting), comes in at 40mm, has better lume and can be found for a fraction of the Evo's price. With the Superquartz movement they're stupid accurate. Admittedly the crown functions can be a bit fiddly. That said, Aerospaces do seem to reside in the "love 'em or hate 'em" category. To paraphrase that Dos Equis guy, "I don't often wear a quartz watch, but when I do it's (an older) Breitling Aerospace".
I was just about to write this exact comment Dean :) It was my first serious (read: expensive) watch but I was and still am absolutely in love with it. Mine is a blue dial and the only moan and niggle I have is the no backlight thing. Otherwise it is to me the best Aerospace version ever, especially the solid gold applied flying B. I totally get Jody's point though, the size thing was the reason I chose the Aerospace over my actual first love, the Navitimer, which was just too large for my 6.25" wrist.
My Aerospace Titanium with gold accents and a pewter dial was one of the first watches I ever purchased, and the first luxury watch as well, almost 20 years ago. The beeping time was a relatively new innovation then I think and my dial states "REPETITION MINUTES" as a result. It doesn't get as much wear as it deserves but I do try to sport it every now and then and it does get complimented. I appreciate the size; I have a 7¼" wrist and 42mm is a sweet spot for me. I completely agree with you regarding the new logo. I have coveted the Navitimer for years but do not like the design direction it has taken. It is a pilot's watch and the winged logo suited it perfectly. The new logo is too derivative of Bentley IMO. It and other reasons are why I'd rather have a Chronomat GMT now. But a cracking review as always!
In One of those flashes of the t-shirts in the intro you should have worn a Macgyver mullet wig - so 80's (probably easy to pick up from Aliexpress too) - I think that is also an 80's t-shirt missing from your collection.
Lovely watch, agree on size, that's what's put me off-thanks for confirming it and saving me money. I have a TISSOT T Touch 2 titanium (used, £200 😉) that I like & wear fairly often. Scratches that ani-didgi accuracy itch without resorting to a casio. Cheers 👍🏻
If you need to scratch that Aerospace itch in a smaller package, try an older version. I have a model F75362 that was made between 2001 and 2004, 40mm, and still keeps excellent time. A few alternatives are the Tag Heuer "2000 Series Multigraph" which has a nearly identical digital function set, but in a 40mm dive watch style. Omega was also making one with the same digital functions, the Caliber 1665B.
I bought a titanium and gold Aerospace F56061 circa ‘94 for US$400 about 12 years ago and once I’d worked up the courage to change the battery myself it’s been problem-free. With papers and both boxes, it’s cheaper than most new Seikos . . .
I had one of these for years but sold it a few years ago. My aviatior G-Shock did everything it did better, and it did more. That sort of sucked the fun out of it for me so I sold it. Twenty years ago though it was a brilliant, practical watch for travelling. I loved it.
I have watched your videos from what must be close to day 1. You have never reviewed a watch, I want more than this one. It is perfect. Funnily enough, I was in my prime in the 80s, and was also a policeman. Horse for courses I guess. And so, to eBay.
I like the Aerospace EVO a lot, but I ended up selling mine and keeping my Speedmaster X-33 instead. The single crown is ok to use, and the lack of buttons makes the watch looks slick, but its a b!tch to set the watch (when you need to). Also for the money, its a little hard to do DIY battery changes since the screws for the battery holder are tiny. I found X-33 to be easier to work with. Good review. Glad that you enjoyed the watch.
Love the watch, but would never be able to afford it, nor would I be able to justify expense if I could. Are there any cheaper alternatives? Seems like most ani-digis now are just so busy.
Nice pickup - but you are right about the size (at least on the modern ones anyway) PRO TIP - if you are right handed, then your right wrist will be larger than you left. Wear your larger watches on your right wrist so they scale better. Yes it feels a bit freaky at first but within a day or so will be normal. obvs vice versa if you are left handed. I do it all the time- trust me it works.
My favorite aerospace is the early aerospace advantage with the plain dial. Still all Ti, the same movement but much better dial and hands and at 42mm a bit smaller as well, just MHO
This watch is like if you described a Casio Protrek to a Breitling engineer and they tried to recreate it from memory. This is a great idea with mediocre execution. Shameful how much the Swiss charge for so little. A $900 G-Shock steel blows this thing up with features and execution. Pitiful. I do really like the titanium.
I like my Casio Protrek better ... it is supposed to be a functional outdoor tool watch (like many of the G-Shocks) and looks like a tool watch ... the Breitling not so much ... Too shiney blingy for a tool watch. It's like they tried to mix a wolf and show poodle - ummm just doesn't quite work.
@and. Andrew.means. Me The Breitling and a Metal Twisted G-Shock differ only in degree of ugly, not in kind. The Aerospace and Chronospace aren't particularly handsome watches.
Well said Phafanapolis. I've long thought the Brietlings strength were in their pure mechanical watches. The digital addition deeply cheapened that concept.
Grail fails are always interesting. Cheers for the vid! The one thing I think I’d have a problem with - if I owned this watch - would be telling the time. Not very legible at all.
I have the Aerospace Emergency. Mine is Titanium colored with the gray face. The bezel is the positions of the compass. On camera, the titanium looks a lot lighter instead of gray. On mine, the numbers are smaller and more in proportion and they are loomed. 15 years ago it cost $500 to have Breitling change the batteries!!! Doing it yourself can be a challenge to pry the case apart without scratching it. Then there's the problem of breaking stuff inside when you do get in! Grrrrr! My two tone Rolex Dayjust has a Plastic crystal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It scratches if you look at it sideways. I've replaced it 3 or 4 times! My two tone Breitling Chronometer stopped working and the gold was wearing off the crown. Wouldn't self wind. $795 and that's after I sharpened my pencil on the service performed!!! My Seiko self winding day date chronometer is 45 years old and it has never been serviced. Never failed me. After six months of sitting, it starts running by the time I put it on. It does have a mineral crystal that scratches easily. Changed it around three times. If you work hard for your money, after you scratch that Rolex and Breitling itch, you will head to China for future watches. Two arrived yesterday and four more are on the way. No customs fees into the USA!!! All for the cost of those Breitling batteries!!!
@Just One More Watch I love mine, as a travel watch, it's fantastic. I have the Casio Oceanus S5000 as well, it is a great travel watch as well, but the Breitling ouse history. I swapped the bracelet for a original Breitling rubber strap with a Breitling quick adjust clasp and it transformed the watch. The bracelet is rubbish and so is the clasp. But I still have some mouns and niggles as well, the top display shouldn't be there as it does not do anything but interfering with the dial, the bracelet as mentioned, I have a just under 7" wrist and after changing to the rubber strap it made a huge difference, but my sweet spot is around 42mm, so don't really understand why the increased the size. I have on occasions used my Explorer II GMT as a travel watch, but both the Breitling and the Seiko Oceanus S5000 knocks it off my wrist when traveling. But even so, it won't leave my collection anytime soon, as it is one of the better quartz movements on the market and I am happy both with the functions and the ease of use. If you really want to get frustrated, try the Certina DS Multi 8, ut has a fantastic movement and good lume, but as intuitive as a 100 000 piece puzzle.
I'm a big fan of this and really like the colour of the titanium, but I definetly wouldn't be reaching into my wallet and actually paying for it any time soon, loved the Chris jab, thanks for the review
I think it's a lovely watch. One thing ... Analogue digital watches especially breitling cost a fortune to service or repair if ANYTHING goes wrong. I think you made the right call. Also not a fan of titanium I like to feel I'm wearing a watch especially a nice timepiece.
I wonder if I was the original owner of that one. I have been searching g for a new one for about 2 years and just bought another one from the Breitling e-boutique. When I took it to the AD to size she said she hasn't seen one in 2 years.
i want to get a watch with a movement that beats at 28,800 bph, like an miyota 9015/9039, sellita sw200-1 or eta 2824-2. i have been looking at microbrands hemel (24 automatic) and collins (hyperion) among others. i own a lorier neptune, a g shock mini, a casio world time and a vintage manual wind rotary which i use as a dress watch. i like them all and enjoy them for different reasons. i don't know that if i bought a watch in order to tick a box, a watch that on paper looks good if it would displace other watches in my collection, that is if i would like it enough. i suppose if i didn't i could always sell it. my question is how do you decide what to and what not to add to your collection?
I have a friend who got one of these as a birthday present from his mum. I found this out on a very rare occasion I saw him wearing it. He said he doesn't like to wear it because he thinks it is "too flashy." His choice but it seems like a waste to me.
It looked dandy on your wrist. I understand if you're not comfortable keeping it for a myriad of reasons. Not a lot of people talk about how a watch feels on the wrist and if it gives you the fizz or not even though it may or may not be aesthetically pleasing. For me personally, it is about the weight and not the size of a timepiece and the Aerospace is a tad too light for me. Does that make it a sport watch?
Brilliant review! Gorgeous watch... and ive never liked breitling- as Jody said, too soft on the used market and a bit dated. But, beautiful watch. Just looked at them on chrono... cheaper than an Oris 65... food for thought
Dang! That size is perfect for me. I prefer a 44-42mm watch, and sometimes even 45mm. I might have to look for one of those! I regrettably have to sell my lovely Zelos Horizon GMT, because it's just too small looking on my wrist. Any takers?
Jody, did this one wear much bigger than the Navi? ... I have the same Navitimer ref as you which I love on my 7" wrist, and have always fancied he Aerospace. Is it bigger presence than the Navi? You obviously love you Navitimer so this one must have felt bigger? (navi is a different face granted). Thanks for the advice!
I have a 19cm (7.5inch) wrist size and it fit perfectly. I also sold mine after 2 years but now regret that I did. Loved those applied numbers and clear legibility. Excellent watch! Seller's remorse on my side.
I’ve had a black dial version for over a decade. Perfect travel watch and it’s been around the world many times. Lightest and most comfortable watch I’ve ever had. You should have handled the watch with a single sequined glove.
Very "80's Aprapo!" 👋
....while wearing a blazer with shoulder-pads.
The price and size is why I much prefer the 90's versions. You can get them for around the £1000 mark.
Goodness me, that watch looks aggressively beautiful.
i saw another youtube watch reviewer and they were just reading off a script, presumably some sort of teleprompter. it makes me appreciate what you do more, with all of the life and energy you bring to what you're saying. as well as the knowledge and experience and extensive details in your reviews.
Thanks mate! 👍
They call him Flipper, Flipper, faster than lightning,

I'm dead
I got mine in 2005, the smaller 40mm version. Still my favourite watch ever. Not a flashy watch.
My grail.
Reasons :
Awsome, tactical look
Presice, and always accurate timekeeping
Lightweight
Two timezones
That's all i want.
A classic in its own right
Pro-tip: Get a Seiko SNJ025, throw on a steel shroud and steel bracelet, you’ve got a budget friendly watch with all the requirements.
just miss the waterproofing
This is my all time favourite Breitling, absolutely love it. Hopefully one day I'll be able to get my hands on one. Orient used to make a similar looking ana-digi but they rarely come up on eBay and are priced as such. Looking forward to see what your next big purchase will be!

Looks so dull though.
Only people who say the T200 has a Grand Seiko level of finishing have never handled a Grand Seiko lmao.
Cheers
I absolutely adore my avenger ii GMT. Same dimensions, same conversion scale on the back, same amazing bracelet, cracking watch.
Thanks for the review! I'm always happy to search for a watch on RUclips and see a video from your catalog.
The aerospace is a fav grail for me. Looking at eBay tbh. So will be an older model but so like them.
Reminds me of the Rolex AirKing. I hate the hand set on the AirKing but like the Breitling hands better.
Have a 2011 Aerospace. I love it! I wear it to work mostly, but it is very retro in a lot of ways.
This is so mesmerizing. I love it.
Sorry it didn't work out for you. Looks great! I wear larger pieces all the time, so it'd be quite at home for me, but with so many dozens of watches I'd never give it the wrist time it needs. Good to see this. Thanks for sharing it.

The Aerospace is one of the best Titanium model from Breitling. Very light at the wrist and very comforatble too - specialy the Vintages models
I had one of the very first ones, in titanium on a leather strap. The ana-digi movement and display was EXACTLY the same as in my Rado Diastar Ceramic Multifunction.

Hi Jody ! Man ! You make me Laugh 😆! The 1980’s is my sweet spot in life . Keep up the Great work ! Take care. Eric
I'm with you on the 80s vibe, Always wanted an Aerospace!
I have one of these and cannot even be bothered to get a new battery. much preferred the chronomat I used to have
There was a watch shop in Canary Wharf ca 98 and it has a window full of Breitlings. I was in love.
In One of those flashes of the t-shirts in the intro you should have worn a Macgyver mullet wig - so 80's (probably easy to pick up from Aliexpress too) - I think that is also an 80's t-shirt missing from your collection.

He literally said his name, so...
Fantastic looking piece.
That is an amazing watch. My favorite Breitling.
Love this watch. What wonderful condition it's in.
Absolutely love the instant jumping minutes vs standard scrolling...but i love the Chris Essery comment more lol
Cheers 👍🏻
Gosh that’s gorgeous, looks like the perfect beater

It's my birthday today and you're wearing the t shirt of my favourite film!
I heard what you did there - I don't know if anyone else did - the opening clock ticking sounds from Back to the Future!
I bought a titanium and gold Aerospace F56061 circa ‘94 for US$400 about 12 years ago and once I’d worked up the courage to change the battery myself it’s been problem-free.
With papers and both boxes, it’s cheaper than most new Seikos . . .

I think the watch world has substituted the word “grail” for obsession.
I think even in the world of horology this was an unreasonable use of the word!
It's always about size with you Jodi. You should have gotten the older model Aearospace E79362 instead. 42mm 48 lug to lug and half the Price.
I love it so much, I want one.

Iv'e just woken up but breakfast can wait (This is more important.)
Love my Evo Night Mission!
Congrats Jody, I love that watch also.
I wonder if I was the original owner of that one. I have been searching g for a new one for about 2 years and just bought another one from the Breitling e-boutique. When I took it to the AD to size she said she hasn't seen one in 2 years.
I have seller's remorse after selling mine!
I love these. Hopefully I'll pull the trigger on one at some point.
i want to get a watch with a movement that beats at 28,800 bph, like an miyota 9015/9039, sellita sw200-1 or eta 2824-2. i have been looking at microbrands hemel (24 automatic) and collins (hyperion) among others. i own a lorier neptune, a g shock mini, a casio world time and a vintage manual wind rotary which i use as a dress watch. i like them all and enjoy them for different reasons. i don't know that if i bought a watch in order to tick a box, a watch that on paper looks good if it would displace other watches in my collection, that is if i would like it enough. i suppose if i didn't i could always sell it. my question is how do you decide what to and what not to add to your collection?
I have a friend who got one of these as a birthday present from his mum. I found this out on a very rare occasion I saw him wearing it. He said he doesn't like to wear it because he thinks it is "too flashy." His choice but it seems like a waste to me.
Thanks Jodi!!
I love this watch
It looked dandy on your wrist. I understand if you're not comfortable keeping it for a myriad of reasons. Not a lot of people talk about how a watch feels on the wrist and if it gives you the fizz or not even though it may or may not be aesthetically pleasing. For me personally, it is about the weight and not the size of a timepiece and the Aerospace is a tad too light for me. Does that make it a sport watch?
Pls do a QnA video. We've got many questions to ask
... because I don’t have a plane. 🤣😂
Brilliant review! Gorgeous watch... and ive never liked breitling- as Jody said, too soft on the used market and a bit dated. But, beautiful watch. Just looked at them on chrono... cheaper than an Oris 65... food for thought
Looking forward to seeing you take on a Seiko SNJ025
Dang! That size is perfect for me. I prefer a 44-42mm watch, and sometimes even 45mm. I might have to look for one of those! I regrettably have to sell my lovely Zelos Horizon GMT, because it's just too small looking on my wrist. Any takers?
Once owned an auto Colt at about a third of this price and the anti-reflective coating was just as good. Flipped that one for cash some years back.
Waiting for a review of the new 2020 Cadisens with the painted hands!! + there's another dressy NH35 Cadisen with the date window at 6
Jody, did this one wear much bigger than the Navi? ... I have the same Navitimer ref as you which I love on my 7" wrist, and have always fancied he Aerospace. Is it bigger presence than the Navi? You obviously love you Navitimer so this one must have felt bigger? (navi is a different face granted).
Thanks for the advice!
Appropriate t shirt. Great scott
Great review, thanks. Please tell me what the size of your wrist is. I am concerned a bit that this watch will also look a bit bulky on my hand.
I have a 19cm (7.5inch) wrist size and it fit perfectly. I also sold mine after 2 years but now regret that I did. Loved those applied numbers and clear legibility. Excellent watch! Seller's remorse on my side.
Had a quick look on aliexpress for a homage, trouble is they are even bigger, well over 42mm. But for $30 you can have a grail lookey likey
I think you need to get an 80s or 90s one in the smaller size, I think you'd keep that one!
Love this watch👍
The 9 and the 3 does it for me....plus the titanium
