Shoot man, you're doing me one helluva service! Thank you! Take that exhaust to 100º, I don't mind it. You could also cut another hole in the muffler, or hell... do both!
Got the piston already modified to test it out this evening. If it works great then I'll grind the cylinder and put in a fresh piston. Still might try and drop the cylinder because i think it would be more useable with lower transfers. And above all i appreciate your patience!!
I’m with Boedy raise the exhaust to 100° And as much as I hate to say it maybe raise the intake floor with epoxy to 78 that would take 4° off your total intake duration and add 2° to the crank case pressure That would definitely help get your rev up.
I shaved the top of the piston on the exhaust side of a pinkway saw and did the base gasket delete and it will smoke my 550xp now . That shaving off that part of the piston got my rpm up in the cut alot
@@Super-Dave-Outdoors it's interesting how certain things seem to help about all saws and how some saws only like certain things. Ive been working on saws a long time but I'm new to porting and raising the compression
I’m my experience with 357xp’s which is 4 of them😆..i couldn’t get that much intake timing to work…sluggish..I don’t add any intake timing after machine work..that short bd shouldn’t be an issue not the same model but I’ve run bd clear down to 10
The only other stuffer saw i have messed with acted the same way. That was a dumpster fire so i made assumptions but from what i gather the stuffers kind of make transfers act higher than they actually are so the fix is typically lower the transfers or run less intake timing to bump up crankcase pressure. What is correct i have no clue
Awesome to know because i think that is where it is after trimming the piston. Probably needs a little nore out of the chamber now but hopefully it starts to rock and roll
Baby steps in the right direction👍🏻

Giving more exhaust duration that way. Just hoping that is what it wants

Thought you were done glad to see another video! How do you even find a 357xp?!
Nope, not done. Just been busy! This saw belongs to Novice Lumberjack. I just agreed to fix it for him
@@Super-Dave-Outdoors well good luck I’d like to see this one making good power. as it does seem to make decent power in stock form

It doesnt feel sluggish but it wont rev out. I'll try epoxy in the intake if trimming the piston doesnt help

@@Super-Dave-Outdoorsyeah Cajun let me in on less intake timing and it worked great for me

I take them to 96 roof and still hold 190psi..
