Husqvarna 288 - before intake modification
👍👍 big damn tree.
Pretty cool! That thing has been there a while.
👍🆙SD
Runs great now👍🏻 they sure do like to breathe, especially once ported. One of the few, yet many 2t oils I haven't tried yet🤪
👍👍 great comparison and great improvements
This is the new channel. I was daydreaming about grinding piston rings and not paying attention to what I was doing. 🤦♂️
Running way better than stock! Good work
Some serious sawdust production going on there after the tuning!

hi david, always thanks for your precious teachings. Regarding the oil for the mixture, I also found, changing brand, at idle, a lowering of revs, but I also had to adjust the carburetion. In Italy we have two types of gasoline, one 95 octane, and one 100 octane. In your opinion, does it make sense to use a 100 octane gasoline? The Castrol power 1 racing oil, which I find easily in my city, have you tried it? Could it be a good alternative to the echo pro up that I use? Thanks for your attention. Kind regards Adelino
A lowering of revs at idle could be attributed to burn rate of the oil in your fuel mixture, i have had oils that required me to adjust the carb to achieve specified idle speed. Octane, at least here in the states is just a fuel's resistance to pre-detonation. Higher or lower doesnt change the burn rate. If one station has a higher quality fuel then go there. Shell has good quality fuel here in the states. Castrol Power 1 carries an ISO-L-EGD and JASO-FD rating so it meets manifacturer spec for the trimmer. Can't say how clean it burns but it shouldnt be hard to find that info. I need to order a bottle and try it.
Great job, sounds pissed off
Monstrous as always!
Thanks! That pine makes most of them look like monsters!
Hi David: thanks for your commitment and professionalism, and for explaining to me in detail how the carburetor works. This type of Walbro is widely used, also by Honda and other manufacturers, in particular for brush cutters and blowers, and in all engines where high rpm are not required. The minimum adjustment alone can normally include a rpm range from zero to 8000 - 9000 rpm, therefore sufficient for the use of brush cutters, blowers, but not chainsaws that also turn at 12000 - 13000. In the meantime, without adjusting the central screw, I have done some tests with different types of mixture doses, from 50: 1 gradually up to 25: 1, and I have seen that 32: has given the best results, no smoke, the engine runs well in every situation, the spark plug is medium gray, and very clean. In Italy, high performance oils are classified as Motul various types, 800 - 710, Castrol power 1 racing, Helf htx 909 and 976, Honda hp2, Bardhal various types, and echo. I use the professional Echo Pro up oil, very good, suitable for competition engines, and also for gardening. It would be great if you found a WYA carburetor, and maybe you tried it, and showed us how you carburized it. Who knows, little by little, you might be able to do other tests on the oils. Thank you for your attention and interest. Adelino Zamuner from Treviso (near Venice) Italy.
Motul, Elf, Honda, and the higher grade echo oil should all be good to use. The only thing you may consider is staying away from castor/ricin blends to avoid excessive carbon build up.
Probably keeps carbon down just because it is a higher quality fuel. Fuel quality can make a huge difference
I have definitely noticed power differences between oils. I buy my fuel from the same station every time and certain oils will chamge idle speed by 200rpm or so. Idk if that means slower or faster burn rate but it is definitely creating more cylinder pressure at optimal crank angles.
Sweet👍🏻 have a blower and trimmer that have barrel style carbs and only low-speed adjustment screws. Never thought to tweak the metering lever a couple thou to "adjust" for the lack of high adjustability🤦🏻♂️ thanks for sharing!
Nice parts sheet.
Now you’re getting somewhere. That’s impressive bud
I appreciate it. Lots of things going for the 4910s that make them great for power production. If you can cut the base and grind cleanly it is hard not to make big power numbers
👍🆙SD
👍🏻
Looks good
Thanks! Runs good for what it is!
Hi: I also saw your latest videos. Regarding the oil for the mixture, you used ELF HTX 909 I think at 32:1. Could you please tell me what type of oil you generally use and prefer? Could you advise me, since I am not a professional, but I try to preserve my equipment, what type of oil to use? Thank you for your interest, and continue with your interesting videos. Kind regards, Adelino from Italy.
Dang it, you sent me an email a while back too and i forgot to respond. I'll make a note and try to help you out this evening!
Looks and sounds great!
Thanks!

Running pretty well sir! Excited to get my saw into some more wood man!
👊OW
Yep! It does run pretty good!
Is this the one you were talking about???
Yep, this is the same as your new cylinder!
Nice running saw and it gets better the warmer it gets 👍😁
I think that is how they are supposed to run on a work tune. Tuned after a few minutes of operating vs tuned for 3 cuts.
Oh she's looking crispy! Idles perfect too.
Yup, runs pretty good!
@Super-Dave-Outdoors I'd say so!
👍👍👍 runs really good
Yup, that is the recipe i have settled on. .020 from the chamber, set squish to .020, intake stays where it lands, transfers 124, exhaust 104
@@Super-Dave-Outdoorsdidn't think you Texas fellers liked beans in your chili but it looks as if your recipe calls 4 extra beans!
Once you go south of I-10 every recipe calls for extra beans. Nothing wrong with that either!
@@Super-Dave-Outdoors 😏👊
👍👍 very consistent in the cut
Thanks! It runs good!
👍👍 that a runner
I think the chain was a hair aggressive but it makes good power so it pulled it fine
Bring it Dave!
😁👊
I will be getting in touch with you soon to port my 620
I think it will be around the 1st of the year when i have time to do another customer build.
@ ok I’ll check back with you then
@@Larry-hi1riI highly recommend!
Looks good!
Thanks!
Wont take alot of persuasion to add one of these to the stable. Nice.
Thanks, they run surprisingly well.
why not run a stihl or husky? they are way stronger and more reliable
If you have a personal preference on brand that is fine. But including port work on the price of the echo then you pay the same as the others for less power. Reliability is the same or better on the echo, they have a 5yr warranty for homeowners or a 2yr commercial warranty and a lifetime warranty on ignition coils. The echo is lightest in that class. Stihl and husky win on air filtration stock but the A2 designs filter brings the 4910 on par with a 261 and 550. The cases are thinner on the 4910 compared to the 261 but that is about it.
That is one sweet runner of a chainsaw. So happy for Purple. I hope he can use it well. I know I'm loving my Echoes ported by you. I try to find excuses and places to run the chainsaws, they are so fun!
Glad to hear you enjoy them so much! He is really excited, i think he is good with it making a stop to Dyno Joe sometime in the future. That will be neat to see!
I'm eagerly waiting for the results. You'll have chainsaws running in sawfest before too long. It's impressive your workmanship!
You're wearing the wrong shoes....😂
Yep, red white and blues were hanging out in the house.
That gets right wirh it
It's pretty stout! I need to get an RS chain to test cut with, that RM dont move as quickly
Looks good
Thanks! I need to get an RS chain for testing these already!
Oh my! 😮
Thats a work build, no intake work, 124 transfers and 104 exhaust roof, slight band cut in the chamber. That is also pine so it looks mean, oak takes about 40% longer time to cut
Good firewood build nice❤🎉
Thanks!
Pulln steady and carries rpm in the cut well❤
They wake up real good once you poke and prod them a little.
❤
That is one sharp sounding Saw.
Thanks! I think he will be thrilled with it!
Gotta love echos!
Yup, love them or hate them they have some good power potential!
The best .325 chain on one sweet 4910💪🏼👍🏻
That was semi chisel chain, RS is the fast .325 but i dont have any.
Hard to argue with that👍🏻
I think it runs pretty good!
Straight rippin through there!
It has the nachos!
