- This is a better quality “re-upload” of a video I posted a few years. The other upload was filmed from the TV screen, so it’s very poor quality.
I shot this in 1998, I started at Irwell Street Bridge and made my way along the Irwell on the Salford side. Back then the secret was out about fish that were thriving in the Irwell, and there were many anglers along this stretch.
I make my way past Regent Road Bridge and see sights of buildings that are now gone and sights of buildings that are not built yet in Manchester.
At Salford Quays the Lowry Theatre was just starting to be built, and there is no Mall, War Museum, Luxury Flats nor Media Centre. And the blue Cargo Cranes are still there in all their glory.
