Not sure how I stumbled upon your channel but love the vids. Then I saw you got YBS Merch and had to hit subscribe. Love seeing content creators supporting each other
Followed Fisherman's Life for years. In my opinion he became very arrogant and allowed his ego to transform him into a distasteful person. Upsetting as I love his old stuff. Never change Taku!
@@TanNguyen510 I gave my opinion. You must be really upset with your life if you have to throw out insults. Now go ahead and lie to yourself that you're not. Next, follow that with another insult. Your type are too predictable. Cheers and fuck off, mate.
That little jingly tune you've been using sounds like ice clinking/swirling against a glass and throws me off every. Single. Time. Another cool one, havent come across a moon snail catch and cook before! Cheers guys, thanks for my favorite content!
Go to Bamboo Reef on 4th st in San Francisco for freediving classes. Classroom session to learn safety and breathing, followed by two pool sessions and one 30' dive in open water, all in one week!
One technique that I like to use if I’m not in thick kelp is to run a 60ft line of rope with one end attached to a boogie board and the other attached to my speargun with a carabiner. That way if I come across a lobster, abalone or fish hiding in a hole I will drop the speargun right next to it to mark the spot, hit the surface, catch my breath and just follow the line back down. You can always use a heavy lead weight on the end instead of the gun. I also keep a game bag and other gear attached to the board on the surface, plus you can use it to rest on
My friends that eat the snail always told me "Pound the snot out of it" as they are apparently tough., and can be chewy. One boils them and grinds them up for a chowder.
Ok you mention how tough the meat may be. Common comment on snails of any kind. Your go-to first thought was vinegar. How do you feel it would be if marinated/cooked in a pineapple based sauce?
Makes you appreciate the value of the eco system. Could use you in Naples fla. Peeps need to embrace the fishery before they will learn to protect it. Great music, laid back approach. 👍👍👍
Sorry to say, I've unsubscribed because RUclips is pay-only now. All I get is the black screen with the little white arrow going around. I'm thankful for the videos I did get to see. Great work!
i love the california squad of youtubers! everytime you guys collab i cant help but watch all your videos!

Free diving videos are always fun to watch... especially when the person free diving likes to cook what he catches. Hope you keep at it.
8:06 thats almost a Fishermans Life amount of butter right there
Jake Bittner not even close

Asian markets often sell types of large sea snails.
Cool video to watch ...wish I had the balls to get out there ...I'd be hearing the jaws theme music the entire time I'm in the water 🤣
I love freediving and spearfishing bro! I'm down in San Diego if you ever make down this way
Epic video! Would love to see a collab with YBS. Great video as always! Keep up the good work.

Wow so cool!! I find those snails all over bodega at low tide. I dont know how to cook them so I never pick them up. Next time for sure.
You can't take the ones from bodega bay. You have to be south of the golden gate bridge.
@@OutdoorChefLife thanks so much!!
You manage to turn something unappealing looking into something I would eat. Nice!

Just about everything we catch at Halfmoon bay has perisites on it. Was just there last weekend caught a lot of eels
Are you up for a dive this Sunday morning at the north jetty? Water condition should be excellent.
“knife is life” My first Gyuto knife hopefully.
Morning! Nice day for fishing ain't it, huh ha!
Cool vid Taku.
I heard that if you wear belt with dead bloody fish hanging off it, that it will attract a lot of fish.
My dad and I used to go fishing at Half Moon Bay about 50 years ago.
He goes diving for a few hours doesn't find anything the first thing that he finds he eats lol

What would you do in the future to make the meat more tender?
What would happen if you tried to take it out of the shell after steaming it?
