The "Опечатано" means "Sealed" and could be used to seal the crime scene, the property seized by court order or just for the security reasons. Here I think the chef of the office sealed the door to be sure that no one been there during his absence.
Hello! I'm from Romania and I can chime in with some weird things: the guy at the entrance was most probably the guard as private security is very common in Romania/Moldova and they're hired by most companies that have to deal with lots of people on a daily. The balcony is sloped by design to prevent puddles, its Soviet architecture at its finest!
The fact that I am from Moldova and since you've started these series I've been literally dreaming about you going there, damn... this is pure gold Peter!
Honestly this hotel was a place I would stay in. The people where nice and the “older” looking rooms seems like a grandmas home which to me is comforting.
Fun Fact: In all Eastern Europe countries, (including mine - Bulgaria) all sockets next to the balcony, placed 2 meters from the floor, are planned for any future AC units plugged directly in to the socket.
I thought the same, here in Argentina most homes already have sockets placed like that in case you want to put an AC unit inside, since they require electricity to work they can be plugged properly.
The impression I have is all those "worst reviewed hotels" aren't nowhere near the worst hotels in those countries, bc they are at least listed in travelling websites. Im sure there are definetely hotels worst than those in Moldiva and in other countries he visited across Europe
But if the hotels are not on booking tourists can't find them. But I can assure you that there is no culture for locals to stay at hotels so it very probably that was really the worst hotel in the country.

There were roaches everywhere, and a bathroom so filthy, I could not bring myself to take a shower in it. For the record, after a day of travel, a hot shower to me is a MUST! Best of all, when they put in a window air conditioner, they shoved it in a hole low to the ground, and didn't bother to trim the weeds growing around the hole, so they just pushed them in around the air conditioner. When I went to make a phone call (remember, it's 30 years ago) the phone book had writing on the edge saying something about "Kill me now, I can't stand it here anymore". When we went out later in the day to look for an apartment, the first person we saw told us to leave the motel immediately, as it was a well known hang out for prostitutes, addicts, and had suicides and murders happen more than a few times in the past. Hi. I am from Romania and I just want to say that you should be sorry for commenting on the internet. In our country it's a sin for women to post comments online. Their opinion is invalid generally speaking. Repent!
I'm impressed at how the slightly older lady speaks such good english. When I was traveling about the Balkans, most older adults (30's and up) could barely speak it, and it was a younger persons thing.
I’ve been to Slovenia and got around fine with English, and I’ve heard Croatia is alright too. The rest of the balkans aren’t as easy (except maybe Greece) from what I hear, and in the former Soviet Union outside of the Baltics, it’s basically a requirement to know Russian.
@@lifeofabronovich7792 Georgia is pretty english-friendly. But I definitely want to learn a decent amount of Russian before I go back to these areas. I missed out on a lot of interesting conversations.
I feel like the receptionist was suspicious when she was looking at you. In the ending she told you that she wanted to check your room before you leave, which is strange to me. Also when you asked about the reviews i think that she though you were journalists or something, so she was more smiling and told that was working there just for a week, which I believe was a lie for not answer the questions.
I laughed so hard when you said that you changed clothes to look normal. The people of The Republic of Moldova are ethnically Romanian (I am Romanian) but the history is complicated. So, they know that Vlad was wearing a T-shirt of basically Vlad the Impaler but defaced x). Haven't finished the video yet but I am curious if anyone will point that out.
I stayed at the Hansbrinker Hotel, in Amsterdam, back in 1981. No bathroom in the room, just a sink, and a bed, and that's it. The washroom was so dirty, you had to wear your shoes, as they would make a stick stick sound when you walked. LOL. Pppeter, could you make a best of Drago video, I think his adoring fans would love it,
Love the old soviet style. In Australia, the only soviet products we see are photographic equipment drom the 1950s to 1980s. I love the rustic look and the passive neglect look of soviet things.
@@tomek470 No, not really. There are over 10 million tourist foreigners each year comming to Paris. If every hotel there was a miserable shithole, nobody would come. The city makes a lot of money from tourism, it would lose a lot if there was no good hotel to be found. Of course you can fin terrible hotels there, as in any capital city, I have had a very bad experience with my bed not being done and finding a used condom in the room, but there are also luxuous palaces as well as your completely average and normal hotel.
@@goldpaulike5304 unfortunately I know how to speak English m8, it’s just that I know that he can read French so why not express my opinion in French for him. Anyway come back to the ether my friend.
Ok, native Chishinau citizen and a long time fan here. First of all, happy you finally visited Moldova. Second, it was a pleasure you have chosen hotel Tourist. For a long time I had my hairdresser working in one of those offices and I have a lot of funny and creepy pictures from that place because the walls, the carpets, the elevator - everything screams in soviet. Actually inside the “offices” they are allowed to make renovations, so, for example, my hairdresser little studio looked nice. We have many worse places to stay, but not all of them are hotels so you’re welcome! I hope you had a great trip to Moldova and enjoyed some nice things too.
I don't know if anyone pointed this out, but as someone who worked with hotels, if you really want the worst of the worst in a hotel, book directly with them. Making reservations from booking makes you able to review and rate the hotel- and people who work there, as long as the best rooms are available, will give you one of those- on the other hand if you book directly with the hotel it's more difficult to you to give feedback on the internet for future travellers to see- At least that's my personal experience...
19:39 it means "sealed up" with a stamp of company and signature of director. It is normal to detect entry into the room like this in soviet countries.
The room with a note on Russian says that the entrance is sealed. Probably didn’t pay rent or police shut the property and accounts down Hello from Russia btw
Also my grandparents had coal-based heating and lived close to a mine, and the words brought back memories. So... I guess the running water is just a bit on the bad side quality wise.

Looks to me to be about what you can expect from a 2 star hotel. Decent room, decent toilet and a lockable door. That's really all I want from a hotel whenever I travel. Ah of course a livable room temperature as well. Maybe in the dead of winter this hotel doesn't cut it but so far it looks exactly like a 2 star hotel.
My husband and I been to a place where you sit on the toilet and you lean on the wall then in the shower you go to step in the shower nope not in the middle you fall threw.dont lay on the bed it feels like bugs are jumping all over you.the other place you should just burn your clothes after.

Moldova 🇲🇩 good old Moldova. One of my Best Holidays I've ever had. Lovely Country, Lovely People. I stayed at a Low Priced Hotel and I've got very High Standards. It was ofcourse not the best, but did the Job. I would love to visit Moldova again.
I`m not from Moldova, but I can assume is much cheaper for a firm to rent a hotel room and get a discount from the owner, since every bussniess needs a headquaters, and is most likely cheaper then renting a normal bussnies place or have it in their home. Also, in case you want to do kinda on the grey area of the law bussniess, then even if they catch you they got nothing to take from the HQ since the firm dosen't own the HQ just rents it.
Simply put, fall of the USSR has leaved a lot of semi- and fully- abandoned buildings. Big hotel buildings, staying empty most of the time because of lack of tourists, abandoned factories and engineering bureaus, because their production is not competitive on market so they went bankrupt... Lots and lots of them around ex-USSR, including Russia of course. Some are rented for cheap for offices like this one, several "lucky" ones were renovated and now serve as the shopping malls or art galleries. Most of the remains are doomed to just rust on our unwelcoming weather.
I really appreciate how PPPeter just full sends the slavic stereotypes. Never change. Get more and more trashy, duct tape your wheels back onto your car and keep getting hammered, it's appreciated. When I saw in the title "...Europe's Poorest Country" I was excited thinking you would be coming to my motherland Macedonia but c'mon dude, Moldova even has a McDonalds.. :D
This was just in my recommended and decided to watch it...I know it's not Eastern Europe but you guys definitely have to try the Corbigoe hotel in London. That's a terrible place run by some Romanians everything is mouldy, dusty they literally NEVER clean there is TV but it doesn't work and it's cold because no heating and even if there is hot water you have to wait like 3 minutes for it.
I tourist travel on a tight budget and I would definitely stay there. I plan on going to Romania, Moldova and Transnistria next year and hope it’s available. I hope you gave the babushka a $20. She seemed nice.
Transnistria is not a country. But they think they are apart of Moldova. If you go in the Bender or Tiraspol, you'll see old architecture from URSS time, the streets, the parks.. Also, you'll have to change money in transnistrian ruble, looks like Russian rubles (you can change $/€, but usually they are using sometime just dollars) because they don't use Moldavian leu. But some moldovian people are going in Transnistria, because there the products are cheaper than in Moldova, but the products are the same.
The plug that you saw on the top side of the room is 99% used for the AC due to the fact that almost all models of ACs come with a short cable. This design is really popular also for new buildings in order to make it more practical and aesthetic for the AC

You guys know how to put on a show. Love it. Missed the series since last year.
At 15:10 you can see a transparent thing top right moving through the left.. Can be a reflection from outside but theres also a possibility that that hotel can also be haunted being that old.
Obviously a car window reflecting back into the room through the window
The receptionist was beautiful and absolutely pleasant!
Yeah, she was an elegant lady
Glad she was very easygoing and was very understanding too.
I wonder if she realized that she is being film
I agree - very pretty lady.

-Are you speaking English?
-Yes? *Loading Language Pack*
That's not true we learn english in schol & highscol
On general you right but for receptionist English is a requirement.
@@danieladumitru3852 yeah but how good are you REALLY at speaking it?
I feel like the receptionist was suspicious when she was looking at you. In the ending she told you that she wanted to check your room before you leave, which is strange to me. Also when you asked about the reviews i think that she though you were journalists or something, so she was more smiling and told that was working there just for a week, which I believe was a lie for not answer the questions.
checking room to see if they stole anything, stealing shit is commun in moldova.

Loved it! Love the shots of your books.
Do you know if his books are available in all parts of the world?

Just go to a random Paris hotel. Afterwards, every Eastern European flophouse will seem like a luxury palace.
Really?
@@tomek470 No, not really. There are over 10 million tourist foreigners each year comming to Paris. If every hotel there was a miserable shithole, nobody would come. The city makes a lot of money from tourism, it would lose a lot if there was no good hotel to be found. Of course you can fin terrible hotels there, as in any capital city, I have had a very bad experience with my bed not being done and finding a used condom in the room, but there are also luxuous palaces as well as your completely average and normal hotel.
J’adore tes vidéos !! Tu proposes toujours du contenu de qualité ! Merci beaucoup !!
Best English speaker in France
Making reservations from booking makes you able to review and rate the hotel- and people who work there, as long as the best rooms are available, will give you one of those- on the other hand if you book directly with the hotel it's more difficult to you to give feedback on the internet for future travellers to see-
At least that's my personal experience...
19:39 it means "sealed up" with a stamp of company and signature of director. It is normal to detect entry into the room like this in soviet countries.
I love how vladmir is always busy doing something funny and Peter's hair style is so finny too
These guys deserve much more attention. Favorite series on youtube ever.
dress shoes with sweat pants and a white tank is a vibe.
It’s funny for me that as a polish person i understand everything Peter said in Slovak, languages are fascinating
The room with a note on Russian says that the entrance is sealed. Probably didn’t pay rent or police shut the property and accounts down
Hello from Russia btw
Hope he'll doing the worst reviewed episodes in Russia, the OG USSR
Looks totally fine, the water issue is a most likely a badly maintained heater, still totally safe for washing. Some want everything for cheap!
Also my grandparents had coal-based heating and lived close to a mine, and the words brought back memories. So... I guess the running water is just a bit on the bad side quality wise.
You're the most entertaining person on this platform.

Apropo of the camera. Hotel is made out of newly discovered innovative soviet material: microconcrete. 50% concrete 50% microphones
Most importantly, it has to be clean

thank you sir. I hope you will have the chance to visit Moldova again :D ! You are welcome anytime here !
I'm from Moldova and I can't wait to watch this! Can we get a "best reviewed hotel in europe's poorest country" though?
I really appreciate how PPPeter just full sends the slavic stereotypes. Never change. Get more and more trashy, duct tape your wheels back onto your car and keep getting hammered, it's appreciated.
You're so handsome and so talented, however at 13:31 you didnt put your phone on airplane mode and likely were using data and not wifi, but what do I know?

When I saw in the title "...Europe's Poorest Country" I was excited thinking you would be coming to my motherland Macedonia but c'mon dude, Moldova even has a McDonalds.. :D
This was just in my recommended and decided to watch it...I know it's not Eastern Europe but you guys definitely have to try the Corbigoe hotel in London. That's a terrible place run by some Romanians everything is mouldy, dusty they literally NEVER clean there is TV but it doesn't work and it's cold because no heating and even if there is hot water you have to wait like 3 minutes for it.

4:42 the review itself is hilarious but when Peter read the typo out loud I lost it😅
I tourist travel on a tight budget and I would definitely stay there.
