Red nephew?
Red nephew?!
*Gasp!*
Green nephew!
Why do I keep going in this closet?!?
I love how everyone has ways to differentiate the triplets.
so funny hahaha
Controversial option, but this might be the funniest line in the whole series
Red nephew... Red nephew... *deep inhale of realisation* GREEN NEPHEW...
My favourite moment of the episode.
I was genuinely surprised with the route they went with Fenton learning about Gandra being a FOWL agent. It really emphasizes how much their relationship means to each other and works well with Gandra's motivations since her introduction. Plus, it was awesome seeing her, M'ma Cabrera, Huey, and Gyro obtain their own armor to match Gizmoduck while battling Mark Beaks in the VR.
Speaking of Beaks, I found it both amusing and sad that his failing company reflects the ending of this show. Let's just hope Scrooge and co.'s final adventure will go out with a bang.
My favorite part of this episode is Gearloose being instantly respectful of Fenton's mom.
"Dr. Intern, Red One, Detective Cabrera."
Yeah, he refuses to call most people by their actual name, but with an officer of the law, that's another matter!
It's weird- at the end of 'Astro BOYD', he called Fenton 'Dr. Crackshell-Cabrera', but in this ep, it shows that he calls him 'Dr. Intern' instead. Bugs me, since it takes away from the character development they gave him.
@@sabrinamiller3671 I figure it's the same as the hugs he was giving at the end of the episode; "one time thing".
I like the concept of asking for help, especially if you're asking the right people, is touched on in the episode. Gandra hands-down does not want to ask for help because she's afraid of what has happened before in her life being the only experience she's ever had. And I think that's very true. Fenton obviously has not had as much of a letdown when asking for help and knows when to ask for it. Also his over optimism is probably the other reason for asking for help without fear. And also Mark beaks doesn't know how to ask for help when it comes for anything. We know he's lazy and greedy, but in his struggles he turned to stealing. But as you said, he's not a character who is Desiring any growth whatsoever. But it was just a little small concept that I picked up. Probably because I've been trying to overcome this myself.
Something occurred to me. First of all, I find it neat that Gyro's gizmo/suit was the same machine Lil Bulb took over in their debut episode (and that it was Lil Bulb's idea, heh), but what's particularly interesting is that we see at the end of 'The Great Dime Chase' that Gyro came up with Project Blatherskite for himself... and in 'Beaks In the Shell', he finally was able to say the passcode he himself came up with and merge with a robot to have total control over that robot like he originally intended Project Blatherskite for. Full circle, huh? :D
What I like most about this is that it shows that despite his comments, Gyro fully accepts that the Gizmoduck armor is Fenton's and he's merely the creator of it.
Beaks: Who do you think you are?!
Everyone: *Big Gizmo 6!*
What did they really say? I couldn't make it out when I first watched it.
I'm not 100% but I think they all said I am Gizomoduck but like you said I think it could've been a bit clearer
I get what you did but there are only 5 unless you include lil bulb who is just with Gyro so mostly their Big Gizmo 5.
@@cristyflaherty4902 yes I do include Lil Bulb.
@@cristyflaherty4902 last time someone ignored/mistreated lil bulb, it didn't end well
Mark Beaks started the series 3rd richest
And he seems to be ending the series with his company tumbling towards failure (and maybe bankruptcy?)
9:17 I thought the fall of Mark Beaks would actually start at the beginning of Season 3. Remember, he lost a good chunk of his money after Louie conned Glomgold out of his own scheme to become the Richest Duck in the World. I was surprised to see that that didn't seem to phase Beaks in any way up until now.
6:24 Also, for the longest time I could never figure out if Louie knew if Fenton was GizmoDuck or not. His name wasn't in the journal of people who did know the secret, but neither was his mom. Also, Louie was able to figure out who Ponce De Leon was just by looking at a painting. I'm just glad to see that he finally knows now; now I can sleep peacefully under that weighted blanket I plan to get for my birthday in 2 days.
Okay, ever notice that every Fenton Focus episode involves Gyro being locked in the Lab closet?
This was only the second one, actually. At least he wasn't electrocuted this time. I totally wish Gyro had've called Gandra on that.
I like that Gandra was only ever in F.O.W.L. because they would fund her when no one else would, and Fenton, probably almost immediately after finding this out started to help Gandra create a place where she could experiment without having to do it on herself or worry about stuff like how much will it cost. And that once it was finished they were going to release it to the world for free?? That's just amazing
Fenton's mother... broke Louie....
I'm speechless
A bit off-topic, but have you considered bringing back the "Rebooting:" series once Ducktales ends? By then we'll have a complete perspective on these characters and I would love to see episodes on Fenton or Gyro.
Yes, me too! They're my favorite characters!
Probably gizmoduck show and darkwing duck as at least one of them are confirmed and most likely gooftroop as he’s has the potential to have return show as well
@@nahhhhhhhh271 i do hope the dw show is based off of these characters.
I’m kind of interested in this actions have consequences- we see Beaks final reaping what he sowed and in the end, he’s no better off because he keeps sticking with it. And then there’s Gandra, who finally might found herself a place but she still works for FOWL and they’re gonna dock her pay and possibly brainwash her or take her inventions and use them for evil, because she used their resources and you don’t play with an evil accountant.
"My Son has a Girlfriend? Is she real?"
XD
Now all I want is a Gizmoduck Team spin off
I love that Gyro just calls the boys by their color not their name.
I really thought Gandra would successfully leave FOWL and Bradford would coerce Mark Beaks to fill in her spot, offering him the "real chance" to become the "big shot" Beaks always desperately wanted to be
Me to, but I like what they did WAY better. See THIS is subverting expectations done right
Bradford knows better.
@@tyrant-den884 Not really...he CLAIMS that his group aren't supervillains but everything they've done up to now simply REEKS of super villainy
@@sadlobster1 and he still knows better than to hire Mark Beaks.
I thought Beaks would come begging to Scrooge or gLOMGOLD to help him get back on his feet, but Fenton helping him would be better
*psst* Della, Donald, Scrooge, invest in a weighted blanket.
Any of them: "Bah! I don't need any- oh! Actually... That's quite ni-zzzzzz."
@@tyrant-den884 F.o.w.l secret weapon to finally stop the ducks. A weighted blanket.
@@tyrant-den884 Just had to pause to say this in all three voices, and yup, works in every one. 😁
I also made the connection between Gandra and Gyro and how their stories are similar, and immediately thought that the Cloud would be perfect for Gyro to safely test his inventions!
Also, it's criminal that Boyd was absent. Not even a cameo or mention.
And I didn't like how Gyro calls Fenton "Dr. Intern"... like, was Fenton hired f/t or not? He called him "Dr. Crackshell-Cabrera" at the end of 'Astro BOYD', so why isn't he using his name now? I also didn't like how Gy still has this "I'm smart, you're dumb" thing going on with Fenton, as we see from his reaction to Fenton's fib for being in the lab late. All in all, I felt like they took away a bit of the character development they gave him before.
That's the thing with Gyro, he's the prideful genius. He knows he's wrong, he just doesn't want to show it. Shown definitely in his massive admiration for the project, then proceeding to the "cooler" reaction
I’m one of the few Gen Z-ers who has read a lot of Disney duck comics and I’ve gotta say my hype went through the roof when the Lost Library was mentioned
I really like how Gandra Dee isn't just some one-dimensional villain spy by giving her some few depths.
I think we need a couple of spin-off and/or Disney+ movies. Similar to the old one had the movie.
Darkwing duck is getting a reboot, let’s get dangerous was a backdoor pilot
YOU ARE BACK!!!! WE ARE SAVED!!!!

Dammit
It really does feel nice to hear a Seaniccus review again. I'll miss it nearly as much as I miss Ducktales episodes in general. Also, though you might be too busy and that's understandable, you should look into reviewing Flora & Ulysses, as it features all four actors who play HDLW
Part of me wants to wait, find the original book it's based on, and read that first before watching it!
I want to do more videos in the future but I still don't totally know what to do after DuckTales haha
@@seaniccus Man, I love this episode. Heuy's reaction was so funny. Also, the reboot is basically the disney version of the MCU.
@@seaniccus suggestions: Review shows like Amphibia, The Owl House, Kid Cosmic, Big Hero 6, Gravity Falls, Craig of the Creek, Animaniacs 2020, Primal? Whichever one you like.
@@seaniccus oh I totally recommend reading the book it's fantastic
Great Googly Moogly! I am in my 60s and its just hit me while watching this review. No, not the fact that some of the characters wear pants and some don't. Its the fact that some wear shoes and some don't. Well, I am very happy I can still discover something new everyday, even if it will baffle me forever :)
I'm glad Beaks finally got his just desserts. He was a hideous embarrassment to entrepreneurs, start-ups, and his entire generation. Is there any wonder that Scrooge is so bitter towards the young, with the exception of his family, their friends, and those who actually work hard? The people whose ideas he stole and existences and voices erased are finally avenged. I guess they found a way to be heard after all.
I whole heartedly agree and this Ducktales reboot is the perfect example on how to reboot a franchise successfully, while still using some of what came before, you change it enough to give it it's own identity and to separate from the original.
unlike another, I won't name, that came around the same time, that did nothing but ride the coattails of the name of the show, throw out everything that made it a success in the first place and do nothing but talk down on everything about the original, while at same time chastise anyone who disagrees with them about the their show or for simply not liking it.
You are talking about team Titian go
@@reaganhayden5165 While TTG would definitely fit the description, not the one I was talking about. But TTG is definitely one show that had the same problems.
Powerpuff girls? Teen Titans Go?
@@AnInkStick again, perfect examples, but no, not the show I was talking about.
I would tell you which show, but unfortunately it tends to bring out the worst in people. Especially from those that care nothing for the show except for the shipping aspect of it. Basically they forgive everything about it, as long as their ship happens.

Let me guess.
It’s She-Ra, isn’t it?
My friend and I were laughing the entire way through this episode. It just hit all the best notes we've come to expect from this series ^_^ It was also nice to see Mama getting more screen time. She is a really likeable, badass character in her own right.
Who else thought the title was a reference to ghost in the shell?
Duh
It's not?
It is.
@•• ITS COMMANDER OBVIOUS TO YOU SERGEANT! (Jk 😂)
Seaniccus - I enjoy your DuckTales videos every time you send them out. Thanks for making them. Everyone - I'm usually pretty good at spotting and recalling DuckTales references, and I've loved how well they have done them in this series. However, I am stumped with one from this episode. Around 15 minutes into the episode, Huey finds Mark Beaks wearing a VR helmet and tries to stop him. A Mark Beak's image pops up on the computer screen and says, "Nu-Uh, uh, uh. You didn't say the magic word. Nu-Uh, uh, uh. You didn't say the magic word." I know I've heard a computer say that before but can't figure out where. Does anyone recall that reference? Thanks.
I think it's from Jurassic Park
@@katarina4818 that's it!! I remember it now! Thank you!
@@williammeurer3758 Happy to help😀
I like how they are doing a 90 minuet finally because if it were just the average time it would probably feel like their rushing it. I am sad DT is ending. I loved this episode and seeing Gandra and Fenton together (I almost screamed when they kissed) and Gandra "betraying" F.O.W.L(she kind of is with leaving and using their resources for the project). I hope Fenton is the one to save her from the lost library. Also, Fenton needs to add Louie to his list of people who know his identity. Gandra's costume was my favorite out of the 5.
I find it odd that Huey never demanded of Gandra what FOWL's up to. I have a feeling she doesn't even know, otherwise she'd tell Fenton and Huey. There's definitely a hierarchy in the organization with Bradford and Black Heron being on top, and I have a feeling most of the agents don't really know why they're after the Missing Mysteries and that feather, just that they're crucial to Bradford's plans.
They're never going to talk about the triplets' dad, aren't they?
Della: "You see, kids... : I'm an adventurer. And I've gone lots of... adventures, just one after the other."
Unfortunately, not.
My biggest problem with the entire DUCKTALES franchise in general.
It's the only mystery they have no interest in tackling.
@@LucLightWolf121 LET A SINGLE WOMAN HAVE SOME PRIVACEY!
I would have thought that the Lost Library would be talked about a little more in the video as it references an old Ducktales comic by the same name. Which might give hints on what to expect in the finale and maybe the Lost Library is where FOWL is keeping the "lost relics".
The Fall of Mark Beaks kinda reminds me of the fall of Chip Whistler.
I'm really hoping that the darkwing duck reboot will be a spiritual successor to the ducktales reboot after it's series finale.
A Darkwing Duck reboot at this time that does not bring on this same team and continue this version of the characters is a frankly terrible idea. Kind of like Sony canceling Raimi's Spider-Man 4 to do Amazing instead. I actually don't think the ASM films were bad in a vacuum, but not only were they kind of a wrong-headed approach, coming off the tail end of one of if not the best superhero trilogies in cinema history (SM3 was sub-par compared to 1 and 2 but was still a DAMN fine film) taints their potential legacy to this day.
Beaks might as well just turn himself in to the authorities.
My favorite line from the episode:
“This is moving to fast…” 😂😂😂pure gold.
Next Ducktales review: Triple Threat. Aka, Kit and Molly from the poster.
I think the Lost Library, will be the Library of Alexandria and draw elements from this storyline: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guardians_of_the_Lost_Library and it will feature heavily in the finale.
That bit where she breaks Lewey was so good. That she can break him so easy and he is the deceptive one, so good. Him running screaming made me laugh so much.
3:42
Plot Twist: That's Timmy Jenkins' past life.
Actually the creator has said that's his older sister. And that that family exists only to produce rivals.
@@SuperSwordman1 That explains so much!
Wait..when did Fenton learn that Gandra was a FOWL agent? and why wasn't it a bigger deal to him and his MaMa? I guess it happened off screen and we just have to catch up by Huey's reaction, but that really bugged me. MaMa is a cop and I feel like this whole situation was sorta glossed over. I feel like there should have been another episode in between this one and Dangerous Chemistry to explain this better.
@Orion Jean Gandra wasn't revealed as a FOWL agent until the very last scene of Season 2. Before that she worked with Mark Beaks in Dangerous Chemistry and just started dating Fenton. I was actually waiting for Fenton to find out that Gandra was with FOWL so it must have happened offscreen.
I regret that my shock of Gandra's betrayal and apparent hypocrisy clouded my reason and previous awe for her outside-the-box psyche and good points about how empty science has become thanks to the zillionaires.
Good to have you back seaniccus. Can't for your final review videos of Ducktales

Welcome back Sean!
The ending of this episode shows that the team is definitely on the path to the series end game. Can't wait to see how that goes.

The funny thing is everyone was so expecting a darkwing duck Disney plus show no one even knew I created a continuation of the original darkwing duck show that takes place after the comics the shows called disney darkwing duck
I could do with a weighted blanket, if it keeps cool in the summer. I like having weight on top of me when I am sleeping, but temperature wise, it is only viable during the winter.
Ooh hey, a Quest 2, I got one of those when they came out too. Finally affordable wireless VR :P
Glomgold my be a cheapscape. But atlest he's a hard worker!
Love the star fox 64 reference
Did anyone else think about how a man-made virtual space would not actually work for science since it's physics are limited to our understanding of them and the point of science is to increase understanding by exploring the unknown.
I'm shocked that Gyro is still sour, arrogant, and condensing towards Fenton. I thought he changed since 'AstroBOYD'
I know, that really bothered me too. And he calls him 'Dr. Intern' instead of 'Dr. Crackshell-Cabrera' like at the end of AB. I feel like it really threw away the character development they gave him.
I like the idea of a Cloud. a shame we don't have it.
Awesome Ep.
wow.
3.12: poor Huey. There he goes again, having to confront the harsh truth is that life is rarely straightforward. I hope he'll understand Bradford better in the finale, yet refuses to go along with his plan, as tempting as it may seem to rein in chaotic factors, on the account of him finally conquering his demons, accepting life as it is, prioritizing his chaotic family before order and at the same time, try to sympathize and help Bradford out of the dark and superficial path he has gone down thanks to Black Heron. I'm sure she was manipulating him from the start to achieve what she couldn't in her previous fights against SHUSH.

Is this a new episode?
What are you going to do when it ends?
Same here, dude. I'm worried that the series will end on a rushed and unsatisfied note, just like the other good series.
@Orion Jean What did you mean ?
@Orion Jean Honestly I'll rather have unanswered questions-as unsatisfying as those can be- than half-baked non-answers that don't hold to the bearest form of scrutiny and only bring MORE questions (Like certain other Disney show that shall remain unnamed). But I do share the fear of rushed ending and unanswered questions, especially regarding Webby's parentage and Beakley's implied secrecy.
We'll see. I just hope that it'll end on a decent note and at least have a satisfying finale.
Ducktales is a series that is full of untapped potential, and I can't blame the show runners for Disney not giving them a fourth season. They know what they're doing, they're doing whatever they can in the short time allotted, and while I'm confident the series will end on a high note, I don't think any ending they could have made will be completely close ended. I still think there's some great Beagle Boys backstory that we're probably never going to see and only hints of remain in the series. I really REALLY wish they could get a shortened fourth season to tie up loose ends, but that's not going to happen. Unlike, say, another Disney cartoon that just ended. Big Hero 6's 3rd season was an embarrassment. A lame villain arc that was never a real threat and was easily disposed of in like 3 minutes at the end part of an episode. Lame, more juvenile gag episodes. Having the GREAT concept of most of the team moving on into their own careers, and no longer being available and then doing absolutely NOTHING with it. Giving Hiro a protege who's more adept than him and then doing absolutely NOTHING with it. Then there was the second to last episode. A cringy karaoke filler that Big City Greens did FAAAAAR better. So yeah. Ducktales, as much as the ending will be a downer no matter what, at least we can take pride in the fact that the show's third season was a delightful love letter to Disney Afternoon cartoons and Ducktales lore. Big Hero 6, as far as I'm concerned only had 2 seasons.
@@mightyfilm Don't forget Star vs. the Forces of Evil. Its ending is pretty f"BEEP"ked up !
The ending was at least an ending. They had all the elements there, they just didn't come together the way they should have. I thought Mina getting away with everything and her speech about "good ideas never going away" hit freaking hard and was one of the most subversive things I've seen in a cartoon outside of Gumball. But the whole getting rid of the magic REALLY needed a little more set up and perspective. Something that said "Magic is very troubling and has been abused, we need to make strides to limit what we can do with it for the betterment of all life on our planet." It felt sort of planned out, yet rushed.
Big Hero 6, however, the ending was FAR more frustrating. One BAD 11 minute filler cartoon, one rushed 11 minute ending with the DUMBEST payoff. The ending was essentially "Hey! We can pull their evil cards out, and now they're not evil." Something they could have done THE ENTIRE SEASON! They could have done it like 2 episodes ago when Noodleburger Boy was out of commission with his freaking evil card already poking out! Oh, and who defeated the mascot gang? A random appearance by one of the bad guys that randomly reformed off screen. Even if it was done with a crapload of irony and the writers basically telegraphing out "Hey! Don't blame us, Disney cut us short," it still was amazingly annoying and frustrating. You could have had an entire 11 minutes to reform the character but, no... we have to have a karaoke contest so the mascot gang could steal a stupid laser thingy, all the while saying "Oh, he was from Kreitech" and, again, NOT doing ANYTHING with it. Star's finale was a misfire, but BH6's finale was just pathetic.

I love when you can tell when a writing staff HATES certain people and makes them a villain. You can tell the writers really hate the smug, smarmy, morality impaired kind of internet billionaire like a certain figure that shares his first name. When they do it right, it's pure magic. Like how the TMNT 2012 staff clearly hates Chuck Norris. Not only did they make one of the bad guys an obvious Norris stand in, but they even ripped apart his crappy Karate Kommandos cartoon series in season 4.

Ducktales would like to make a distinction between "good" and "bad" capitalist billionaires. And it lives in a neoliberal meritocratic fantasy.
Scrooge, the good guy, deserves his billions because he's such a smarty and toughy and he actually earned it all square. Others are just lesser ducks, or dogs, or what have you.
But Mark Beaks is being punished by the righteous free market! Because he only steals ideas and never works hard. He's seen as a joke, losing popularity, no one showing up at his shallow technocrat convention- a tryhard loser no ones heard of.
Paradoxically Beaks ability to steal the ideas of others, becomes unbeatable in Gizmoducks cloudspace. In this fantasy within a fantasy: Only by teaming up, (unionization) are the true inventors able to take out the monopoly.
Is this the lesson?
But in the real world Zuckerberg and Musk steal data, labor and innovation and only profit from it. They do nothing themselves but extract value from others. Teaming up against them is impossibly futile and the losers who no ones heard of are the workers and innovators who have their labor extracted. The animators in the trenches.
Disney breaks when it tries to tell a story about the little guy beating big business, because Mama, Gandra D, Huey and Gizmo couldn't beat a realistic Mark Beaks without top down redistribution of the means of production. Leadership giving it back to who really use it. But Disney doesn't want to teach that, while still delivering a story the proletariat underclass can feel good about. Sort of
