Thanks for sharing your tool haul! You really are a tool bandit with these great deals! 👍😎🤠
I was this time! Thanks for watching!
ICON stuff is good..anyone who says they're not is big mad that they spent WAY more than they needed to 😂
I hope so. Seems good. Thanks for watching!
I'm always terrified that ill deal with subpar quality or stuff breaking like I have in the past.
Seems like Harbor Freight was one of the few stores that actually had deals. I go there a lot and I've looked at the peices and the 40% discount was actually a discount.
I didn't shop and much but I would agree! Thanks for watching!
Nice haul. The ICON quality is excellent, and ease of replacement makes these a no-brainer. The discount takes it over the top. I just picked up over $700 worth of v-series hand tools at Lowes for $200, so I had to pass on HF this time.
I agree! I did pick up the V-Series ratchets and a 3/8" socket set w/ratchet. Haven't used them yet. Those were also a no-brainer at $60 for the long handle flex head ratchets. Thanks for watching!
I had a pretty similar haul. Well done.
I went back today for the mini toolbox! I was in and out in 3 minutes. Thanks for watching!
Nice tool haul,happy Thanksgiving
Thank you! Same to you! Thanks for watching!
Wow! Lucky you, I have 1 store, within 30mins of my location, and it is a very small store due to us being small towns, and then 2 other "close" locations that are at 1 hour travel time, 1 way to them stores, but they are several times the size of our small town hone store. Nice haul!
I have one about 8 minutes away, another 25 and two more about 30-35. If I move it may not be the case but they seems to be building more all the time. Thanks for watching!
@thetoolbandit wow! You lucked out there huh! Haha. And that they always are doing! They are great all in 1 stop shops anymore for mechanics! Icon has made some major improvements to their line!
They are the only place that reminds me of going to Sears, I miss those days. Yes, the ICON tools are their best yet and the price is still reasonable.
Where do you happen to be from? What you just described sounds just like the are I am from lol
@@thetoolbandit yes haha! When I was really young, about 5 or 8, I remember our sears going out of business and it always had the best options of tools! Was the "pre" harbor freight experience!
FYI. The extensions and rachets were also 40% off. I bought several socket sets, extensions and rachets myself. Great deal
I didn't see a sale on the ratchets. Yes, great deal! Thanks for watching!
Icon really is a great deal, especially at Black Friday Discounts! I do think they are quality tools. The only thing I do not like is that they are sold by the set only. No ability to expand the set or replace a lost piece without buying a whole extra set. That is not a big deal when you consider the savings.
I agree, that is one of the big problems. I do believe you can order an individual piece through corporate but I have no idea what their prices are like. Thanks for watching!
I read in the YT comments and someone said that they CAN sell you the exact part you're missing. I think you got to walk in store and talk to a supervisor or call them up.
I think they have part numbers to each piece and you can order direct from HF I am just not sure where to go to figure it out. I am also not sure what sort of price they would charge for an individual socket... I think they would need to ship it. I don't think you can buy any of them at the store in person.
@@thetoolbanditif you look under the “replacement parts” catalogue on the website. Then you call the 1800 number. Free shipping on “replacement parts”
@@thetoolbanditthat’s good to know! I have some Icon tools, not many though. I am a sucker for vintage tools of course, but the Icon has not failed me.
Happy Thanksgiving, looks like a great deal
Happy Thanksgiving to you too! I thought it was too good to pass. Thanks for watching!
I bought every 1/2 inch drive impact socket they make! Their alen key sockets, star sockets, 3 socket wrenches and icon breaker bar. Also went with the Avanti airless paint sprayer! Some great deals
I agree, no better time to buy! I bought a bunch of the Braun lights, so I never have to look for them. LOL. Thanks for watching!
Also there are a few videos on youtube that show how to fix the icon ratchets with a shim or washer. Apparently its a common issue for them to bind up and feel disgusting with any amount of side load. Some do it, some dont.
I will have to remember that if I have any issues with the one I bought. Thanks again!
I bought the 3/8 general service set for 89 yesterday
That one was gone or I would have grabbed one. Great deal!
I tried to get 1/2 metric shallow sockets not one on the shelf. Every other set was there all the 3/8 where there 1/4 sets where there
Yeah, they did not load up the stores for the sale. If you're in a populated area you probably didn't get much. In smaller towns they tend to have lower demand. I got these in a smaller area, drove 30 minutes. The one closest to me was wiped out Monday and they did not restock. Thanks for watching!
I have the semi deep sets too, love them and use them a lot. Have not been disappointed!
Good to hear! For $25 a set I can't pass that up. Thanks for watching!
The semi deep set is a must have. Sometimes you just don't have the room to get that fastener.
Wish they had semis in 1/4”…..still waiting
Agreed. Back in the day I just bought one or two I needed off Snap-on, never the full set. At this price I figured I couldn't pass up a set.
I agree, not as many people make those. I am glad they have 1/4" swivels!
I wish they had better deals on diagnostic or they raffle one off per state each year
Yes, those are pricey. Thanks for watching!
When you are working you look at it one way but when you're forced into disability you have to look at it in other ways
@@MikeDuprey Yes! That is why I bought these ICON, can't beat the deal and I needed everything I bought.
Yes heck of a deal.
Hard to beat! Thanks for watching!
My local hf store was totally out of icon socket sets when they opened Friday morning. Total BS!
Yes, total BS! They were either unprepared or didn't want to sell more at this price. Sorry it didn't work out for you. Sale goes through tomorrow, they "might" restock some stores. Thanks for watching!
Excellent buy man!
I went got me a couple different sets too.... couple Braun lights and 2 of the mini tool boxes.
Happy Holidays EVERYONE! :)
It was a good time to load up! Thanks for watching and Happy Holidays!
I walked into harbor freight on Black Friday morning at 7 am, not ONE metric ICON set on the shelf! They said the club members snapped them all up before Thanksgiving. Some sale. Waste of time.
I think it depends on location. Either way it's wrong. They should have known it was going to be a big sale. Sorry it didn't work out. Thanks for watching!
That’s why I got the membership
I joined the club and saved twice the amount in my first purchase. It also allows black Friday sales the beginning of the week. Some people say it isnt worth it but to me it was
You should ask for a rain check.
I got one a few months ago when they had the icon ratchets at 40% off and the same thing happened, the ITC members bought them all and I had to wait about a week until they got a new shipment in
I had it from saving $100 on a toolbox. This is only the second time I used it but it was well worth it. One guy didn't want to buy it, he argued it wasn't worth it. The store clerk tried to tell him he would save more than the membership if he signed up. He refused.
I have a bunch of the Pittsburgh ratchets and really like them. I think HF is perfect for the home gamer.
For sure. It's one of the few tool stores left. Thanks for watching!
Heard the wrenches will be on sale in december for 40% off
Should be a circus in there during that sale. I hear the Anti-slip sets are pretty solid. Thanks for watching!
would definitely try and score the double box ends!
I will keep my eyes peeled for that sale!
@@thetoolbandit They just posted it for Friday 12/13/24 40% off wrench sets / torque wrenches / Breaker Bars.
RIP our Wallets
@@Abyss0206 I see that. I wonder if it is good for just 1 set? I would like to try a couple different sets anti slip and double box
Those ball head sockets aren't ball head. I took a quick inventory of my Icon tools before I went to Harbor Freight today and couldn't figure out why I would have bought straight long hex sockets. I find them there and the package says ball head but they are not.
Mine are actually ball head, sounds like your box had a mix up. Thanks for watching!
But do they have 1/2" drive 12 points?
I don't believe so. Thanks for watching!
lol he said not as good as snap on… bro you need to get out more, snap on break too and the ICON line up is good enough even for the pros that know.
Yes, all brands break. If I said they were as good as Snap-on I would have comment like yours from other people saying they don't compare. They all break, some more than others. Thanks for watching!
@ I didn’t mean to sound like I said it in a bad way. Sorry if it came off like that. Meant to be more like a light hearted, “bro, it’s good stuff and you should be happy with them for years to come kinda way.” Just an fyi lol happy holidays
No problem at all. I was comparing to Snap-on pricing, so I made sure to say I wasn't saying they are the same quality. I do believe they will serve me for years to come. Can't beat the price, even at regular price. Happy Holidays to you as well!
Yep I did this,
3/8 chrome shallow mid and deep sae and metric
3/8 impact shallow and deep
3/8 90tooth ratchet
Then the new 3/8 milwaukee m12 stubby impact kit
Didnt need the etorx already had them
Don't need the bit sockets already have the gearwrench set
Dudnt get the wobble sockets because I just don't use them
I'll expand the 1/2" impact next but i spent enough for now
Unfortunately my old made in USA craftsman set has met it's end from rust. My fault but it didn't get used alot
Nice haul! Great time to get some deals. Thanks for watching!
What no mini tool box? Lol
LOL, hottest item of the year! Thanks for watching!
@thetoolbandit Yeah me and a bunch of other goobers standing in line in 25 degree weather to get 2 of em. They're pretty cool though. Way better than Lowes
Yes, they are cool. So many people are like "why do you even want one"..... because I'm a tool fanatic! LOL
This is a different video for you!!
Yes, I need to expand a bit. LOL. Thanks for watching!
The pins in the swivels are junk..cant take the torque of an impact..they'll break
Thanks for the heads up! Thanks for watching!
No resell value on hb tools.
For 25 to 35 a set for chrome sockets I am not worried about it. I'm just working in my garage. Thanks for watching!
I get it buddy. I think these are better than craftsman.
I think they are likely better than the current Craftsman. I am also not sure Craftsman still makes stuff like 1/2" drive impact swivels. I guess I haven't checked.
If and when they start making more of their products in the USA, I would consider them, although I have a good supply of USA made Craftsman to keep me going for a long time.
I get it, many people want made in the USA. Outside of used they are getting harder to find at a reasonable price. A set of used Craftsman 6 point in 1/2" drive is hard to find unless you're willing to pay eBay prices. Then if you break one you can't get it replaced. A set made by Wright for shallow and deep metric is over $300. I can't spend 5x the price for a set that will only get used a few times a year, I mostly use 3/8" drive sockets. Thanks for watching!
Are you waiting on U.S. made phones and computers. What about your clothes and shoes!
@@TheBuckeyeFarmYou have to start somewhere.
@@thetoolbanditUsed is the way to go.
Maybe, but a used set of Craftsman deep 6 point 1/2" drive sockets made in the USA will be over $100 unless you happen to find a set at a garage sale.
everything out of stock
I figured it would be. Hopefully some store will restock before the end of Monday. Thanks for watching!
1000 for sockets from snap on swivels..?!!!! That's criminal and should be investigation into there 5times over priceline..I run tree service and landscaping buisness..makeing much more than mechanics 1,,,,and 2 even if so would never pay that...all 3 of my pickups work trucks individually where 3500 .00 or less I payed 1000.00 for my skidsteerr grapple..these are examples of how criminal there pricing is..and my local harborfreight s...where all sold out of the mechanics tool sets by icon..wanted to get some sets and some quin.and even Pittsburgh they've worked well for working on mini skidsteer, zero turns, trailers, my partner bucket truck.,,4 trucks .and more paying 1000 for sockets mechanic OR NOT, is ignorant and beyond what shpuld be legal..period that's insaine.you could buy a brand new 400c stihl pro saw for that out the door and be in buisness..or get snap on sockets and put them on a shelf because only way it would be worth it is for collecting to re sell later. Another thing how can they sell sockets for higher price than a half inch ratchet?..😢.feel bad for mechanics buying that stuff ..for a 1000.00 dollars you mechanics could open your own buisness at least it would pay for first insurance installment and license, then you could be working from truck or home and make living..and buy entire SET OF TOOLS AND TOOLBOX FOR THAT..seen one otherday with tools loaded for about that much..
The prices on the trucks can get crazy. I can't justify it, others seems to swear by it. The 1/4 drive set I showed in this video is also $1000 on the truck, I paid $60 for mine. Thanks for watching!
How many different flavor of the month tool brands have you purchased all these same tools over the years, you are just like all the other people looking for the cheapest price, all of you have spent enough money on the different flavor of the month tool brands to have purchased a complete se of Snap On tools. What happens when you need a socket or wrench that is not included in the set? Oh that's right HOBO Freight's Icon brand only sells in sets, so you only get what they put in a set. If you misplace a wrench or socket good luck purchasing a replacement because HOBO Freight does not sell individual wrenches and sockets, you can try to order a replacement but many have been waiting as long as a year and a half and still do not have the replacement.
This is why Icon is for pretenders and will never really compete with Snap On because Snap On you can buy individual wrenches and sockets including in sizes smaller and bigger than what comes in a set.
Did you know how HOBO Freight came up with the name Icon? Then selected the name Icon because they are conning you into thinking you are buying Snap On quality, the truth is HOBO Freight is laughing all the way to bank.
I build sets, for me, my kid, friends, and I give some sets away as gifts. This is the first time I have bought ICON. The set of deep metric sockets I needed were $35, same set from Snap-on is $560 list. I don't have a rep, I don't work at a shop. So I could buy 5 sets of ICON and still be $300 ahead. Thanks for watching!
Harbor Freight won't ship these with the discount. I love Harbor Freight but not shipping these deals is a solid reason why I am spending money on other tools from other places. There is no reason not to ship these deals. A fail and a pass.
I understand what you're saying. Many stores seem to do this. Only way to get people in the store it seems. Thanks for watching!
@@thetoolbandit I think they do it to limit the sale. If the store only has 10 of said sale items, once it is out, it is out. It is harder to restrict the sale of the item if it is on the internet. Just my guess. Thanks for the video.
Just go to Harbor Freight..your loss👎
Interesting. When the Icon flashlights went on sale for $20 I bought 5 online. The store sold out in 10 minutes.
@@chex313 Ya, them socket are on sale in store only. You can order them online for the normal price of 138ish.
