The Metal Gear Solid 2's Item Randomizer mod is still in development with a public release coming later in 2024.

The Item Randomizer Mod is still in development for the MGS2 Substance GOG & 2003 PC Release versions. Mod release date is currently unknown (later 2024).
Also unknown if the Master Collection version will receive this mod at a later date.

If we could get the Door keys randomized that would be interesting how much sequence breaking we'd get...going to the core before Stillman for example
Problem is that the card keys arent randomized properly yet either without crashing the game.
But the potential for a “Chaos Randomizer” is there for sure! 😅❤️
It won't work, because when you exit to the shell 1-2 bridge it triggers that story flag acting as if the Stillman event took place. Someone did an out of bounds and found out it was textures on strut b-c shell 1 core entrance.

I have messed with model swapping before and sadly they dont change the cutscene models. Maybe one day it will be figured out 😁

Same! Its been talked about many times during my livestreams and all we need is a dedicated modder 🫡
MGS3 would go so hard as a Randomizer. Because it did away with card keys and sequence important weapons (Like how you need the PGS1 to get to Shell 2) you basically can do anything you want without fear of a softlock. The only points I think would need to be given a specific item is the part where you have to shoot Eva's C3 (And even then you're given the DSR if you don't already have it) and the shootout with Ocelot because the game probably has zero idea what to do if Ocelot is harmed in that scene.
I agree! MGS3 would make for an excellent item randomizer! Just need to find a modder who would love to put in the work.

i asked a buddy of mine on steam if they had guard randomizers???
There is a “guard randomizer” in which it shuffles the difficulty of each room in the game when you walk through a loading door changing the amount of guards and their behaviour based on the game’s current difficulty (including bosses).

Imagine if you get to the shell one core and you don't have the directional microphone. Would you just have to go up to all the hostages add listen to their heartbeats by putting your ear to their chests. Like raiden said in the cutscene.
