    Super definition even under tremendous gain. I just love the way the 'Southern Style' slide sounds through those drivers. The Cream sounds smoother than the Celestion Golds, and those are an amazing speaker in their own right. My Cream is on order and will be paired with a Celestion G12H-80 'Wolverine' UK built speaker in a Mesa Engineering 2x12 Recto cab. Both are 8 Ohm speakers run in series for a total load of 16 Ohms. I can't wait to run that cabinet with my Marshall 1959 Super lead head, 'Southern Style' !!! Great tone Lance.

    based on the context and the fact that the speaker he holds up isn't a Creamback as he said, this must be a Celestion Cream. The creamback, a 65 watt ceramic, is a completely different speaker. This is apparently supposed to actually be the Cream, a 90 watt alnico.

    Thanks so much Lance, your video convinced me. After trying a lot of speakers I now add a vintage D130F to a pair of Celestion Cream Alnico's and the setup is stunning, even (or especially) when using hollow body guitars. By the way, the astute way to say the word is "Al-Nee-Co".

    I've just fitted one into my FSR DRRI, the mids have gone through the roof compared to the Fender Eminence but it still has bell alnico chime. It sounds like a fat Fender, it's amazing.

    So I finally bought one of these and was surprised that I thought the clean tone was even better than it's tone driven by a modern high gain tube head. I need to buy an attenuator to hear it's dirty tone when cranked (too loud). If I was forced to guess what speaker was in my amp I'd have said "I dunno,, a vintage NOS Jensen P12N?". This evaluation based on 1x12 in a vintage 50's Gibson amp. Bottom line, if your in possession of a 1 or 2x12 amp that is aimed at getting vintage tweed tones from, you might want to try these. Not too bright, not too dark, they really hit it out of the park on this speaker.

    Hi Lance. All of your demo vids are super helpful, thanks. I'm looking for new speakers for my JTM45. Are these Creams still your favorite with the Metroplex? How do these compare to the Golds? I only play humbuckers (LP's & 335's), I'm concerned by some of the other reviews that the Creams will be too dull with not enough bite (compared to Golds), but your demo has me thinking otherwise. Just wondering what you think of the Creams vs Golds. Thanks!

    Great video, and amazing tone! Im a believer of Celestian Creambacks, though im not sure mine are the same.I play Splawn Nitros and his 4x12’s come with x-pattern of G12m and G12H30’s(both labeled creambacks). So again,not sure they’re the same,but man, the tone is amazing.Ive been a v30 guy all my life,but im sold on Creambacks. Im REALLY interested in that AMPLIFIER though! Ive heard of Metropoulis amps, but what model amp is that? Its sounds unbelievably good!

    Hi Lance, I have these speakers on a Metropolous white 2x12 along with my MP. I was wondering if u got yours modded to Georges latest specs? I sold my BE-100 after getting the MP, just so much more organic. The only thing Im trying to get used to is its not as forgiving an amp as the BE.

    Hi ...can I ask which mic / preamp / gear/ are you recording these sweet tones with? cause I know these speakers well and you really capture the essence of it with a bit of verb...it sound like some ribbons are in there with a good compressor....tell me sir

  • @U-mann

    High end chime and nice low end as well, now THAT is a worth while speaker.
    Is the speaker cab you're using closed or open back?
    Do you have any preference?
    I'd be curious how these would compare with the Jensen Blackbird speakers. Both are in a similar wattage range so if you ever get the chance to compare, I'll be watching.
    Thanks for the video.
    :)

    • @joeytruelove
      @joeytruelove 8 лет назад

      Yes, the Blackbird has way more lows and a smoother midrange, with an underlying American vibe. Would have loved to try this Cream out against the Fane A60, though.

    From the demo's I listened to, it seems the Gold is more articulate like the Blues, what is your opinion of the Creams compared to the Golds?

    • @kirkmulder1599
      @kirkmulder1599 4 года назад

      I have both speakers. It can be said the Gold is more articulate with its more pronounced highs, however the Gold also reminds sometimes of what I don't like about V30s for the same reason, so there's that.
      For an overall package, I feel the Cream is the better speaker for all styles of music and I play a full range of gain on a couple Friedman amps. What also makes it better is 90w vs. 50w. But if the wattage on the Gold isn't a problem you really can't go wrong with it. And I love my 10" Gold I put in my DS Mini Combo!

      @f.d.t.f.d.t.7310 4 года назад

      @@1969MARKETING Sure, but your video is a speaker demo, and putting a lot of delay and verb makes it much more difficult to hear the sound of the speaker itself. Ideally for a speaker demo you should run a dry amp, a close mic and, if you have a good sounding room a room mic. Just sayin' Have fun!
