Airtag & keys got stolen on a KLM plane.. but I recovered them!

- In september 2021 I left an Apple Airtag on a KLM to see what would happen. To my suprise it flew around for 2 months before it got taken by probably a cleaner of the plane and taken home.
**Some people want to try and copy this idea.. remember an Airtag is a foreign object for an airplane. Don't hide an airtag where it normally would never be (like squeeze it somewhere else than a planeseat.. you don't want to be responsible for by accident taking down a plane!!**

This was super entertaining and satisfying when you found them. The fact that the culprit took the keys but left the Apple device makes no sense. What are they possibly unlocking? Nothing.
One more reason to not put your belongings directly into airplane seat pouches. Not only it's easy to lose them but also you know it's hella dirty when they clean it after 300 flights.
It seems very strange to me that someone would be interested in keeping the keys. Even if they asume they can break into your home or something, how would they ever find out who the keys belonged to? 😀

They probably didn’t even want the keys. They just wanted the key ring. But when the notice came to the apartment they probably thought, oh shit we better return this. By that time the keys were long gone.

they have crimped keyring where you need special crimpers to put the keys on and you'd need a grinder to a take them off. looks like a slightly thicker key ring metal. usually a commercial/enterpise type of thing though. also i see the clean company doesn't have any shady employees.

Why would someone steal keys? They are practically useless unless you know what they open.
Entertaining videos mate! Do you have a Program or App to keep track of the location history of the airtags? Like the graphic of all the places it traveled. Or did you do it by hand?
Just found you screenshot skript in the other video, would be neat to have the location extracted and visualized on a map :)

@@AirtagAlex Yes. The mall/office building you see in center is where I do my grocery shopping :) And in the white/blue building you can buy the best fresh doughnuts(pączki) in the area.

You need to drop one in some random vehicle like a taxi or a bus and see where they go all week. Perhaps a bit creepy, and possibly illegal though - and you probably won't get it back.

This is hilarious! I bet someone like a cleaner (who are often the cabin staff these days) found them and put them in a cubby hole on the plane. I'm wondering how many people were told that an AirTag following them on the plane. Did you take the speaker out of this one too?
Yeah.. first thing i do when i get a new airtag.. remove the speaker :)
@@AirtagAlex UWB precision positioning is not allowed in my country. I want to use singe airtag to save my bicycle from theft and also for everyday use like finding the keys. If I remove the speaker it will be hard to find it. What would you recommend?
@@ivan9ef Not removing the speaker :) You will indeed have a hard time finding it. You could look into the Chipolo spot one.. it doesn’t have UWB but it doesnt beep when it gets stolen.

Still a better detective than the bestsellers
The grief caused by KLM seems to be based on that NO HUMAN READS THE MESSAGES, but AI (Artificial Intelligence), just like when this Creator has a problem with YT and it is handled by the AI software. Only when it is "pushed further" that ANY human may read the messages. AI can't YET read back other messages gotten explaining the situations.
Looks like KLM does a bad job at cleaning their planes..
KLM does not clean the inside of their own planes. They have a company who does this for them, just like almost any other airline in the world. I believe KLM uses Asito for narrow body and Kluh for wide body. Those cleaning sessions are also very quick and don't always involve a deep check of the seat pockets of a 189 seats in a 737...
Yes.. correct. It's all contracted out to 3rd parties.
They also do a bad job of customer service when they lose your bag! You get nothing but the runaround and platitudes to "be patient" and still nearly 2 months later and no bag. I made sure to buy some airtags...I don't trust any airlines now.
Looks like air tags are good for tracking the aircraft you left it on, and airport jetbridges where the plane was.
Just goes to show these planes aren't "deep cleaned" as often as we would like to think. If they had deep cleaned the plane, they should have found them.

Yeah I actually have been looking for a good source for that. The ones i found are either crazy expensive or heavily copyrighted. But I agree.. I could use some subtile background sound. I am open for suggestions.
