It's likely the baking soda in the deodorant that may have caused this. I know that was the case for me before I switched to a baking-soda free variety and it made all the difference, if you care to keep using a natural deodorant. But yeah, man that was a terrible experience. I had legit PIMPLES on my underarms - huge, irritated, stubborn pimples plus general rashy irritation. It was terrible. Happy Friday Dr. Dray! Could you post a video about sunglasses and protection from the Sun? There are so many price points and the sticker or tag says UVA/UVB protection. Would a pair of sunglasses from Walmart be as effective as a better quality brand for UVA/UVB protection? Thx 😊
Got the same thing. Check to see if there is baking soda in it. That's what caused it for me. Try and avoid any natural deodorant with that stuff in it from now on, or go back to regular deodorants (nothing wrong with them).
I used someone's shaver for a last minute underarm shaving, and started having rash. So upsetting and in a matter of weeks, my underarm become completely dark. Doctor wasn't sure, there was no fungi, bacterial treatment didn't work either. All I can do now is moisturize to stop the itch and hoping the darkness go away :(
I used tretinoin -0.05 twice a week with Himalaya baby rash cream and exfoliating with coffee scrub once a week and reducing sugar. Saw results in about three months.
I haven't shaved my underarms for 3 months and I now, only use deodorants without aluminium. I use arm and hammer. Believe me, my armpits are getting lighter. I am going to get my armpits sugared, like I have done to my lady area.
I've had dark armpits since I was pregnant with my children...and they're now young adults! 😏. I too have used A&H to help lighten the pigmentation, but it's never been back to my normal skin tone. However, after I started getting my underarms sugared in the last 6 months, OMG, they're back to being normal again! And the plus side is not only is the regrowth reduced, but it's also finer hair so less noticeable.
Thanks for the advice! Your channel is the best.:) Can you recommend the best way to fade hyperpigmentation from laser hair removal? I burned my leg years ago and decided to give laser another try because I thought the first person who treated me may have been incompetent. My skin is fair. I followed all the protocol, and I'd gotten other areas of the body lasered at other places with no problem. Unfortunately I got burned again. I don't know if the initial burn made my skin more sensitive or what. My skin is still really splotchy and uneven more than a year later. I was really hoping to have normal skin by this spring/summer so I could go swimming again without feeling self-conscious. .
Thank you for telling about scrubbing because I was doing this with my cerave soap but it didn’t work and thankfully no further rash or discoloration. I tried just using baking soda and it was not a pleasant reaction for me, it actually burned or irritated and was not effective.
- so wash my underarms with Panoxyl acne wash, use vanicream shaving cream to shave my underarms, then apply eucerin baby eczema relief, after that go on with my day and at night apply vanicream deodorant.
If I have skin problems or have questions about this type of skincare product, i go to this channel, and search if Dray has a video about it. 😁💖 I trust Dr Dray more than my dermatologist i see here personally 😁

I’ve been plucking my armpit hairs for years and I swear by it! The angles are a little funky. But the hairs are less noticeable since they are growing out from the root instead of being cut in the middle of shaft. It is hard to get a get all the hairs so for occasionas i will get all the In growns or chicken skin hairs that form on the bottom half and then shave . But usually I’m solid if I tweeze the thick ones

@@gracitablom-amelo9431 i washed it off right away I didn’t leave it in long. Litterally just lathered on armpit then washed off it didnt start to irritate until later in the say tho i think i was due to when I started to produce sweat
Hi Andrea! Can you please make a video on salicylic acid for foot calluses or anything you can speak upon about calluses and how to prevent/get rid of them? I hope you’re having a lovely day so far and I love your channel 💕
She always recommends Kerasal Ointment. Check out her video No More Baby Foot Peel. :)
Thank you so much Dr Dray for doing these videos sincerely and telling the remedies with out any brand's promotion ,it's really helpful
Thank you for this and your Neutrogena recommendations! Male with sensitive to textured skin here
Happy Friday Dr. Dray! Could you post a video about sunglasses and protection from the Sun? There are so many price points and the sticker or tag says UVA/UVB protection. Would a pair of sunglasses from Walmart be as effective as a better quality brand for UVA/UVB protection? Thx 😊
i have a video on this
I’ve been waiting for this one 😭🧍🏻♀️Turn it up!
I’ve great results with prickly pear seed oil as it contains high percentage of vitamin K (the underdog of skincare) and E. Facial oils work.
Happy Friday Dr. Dray, I'm real early. Yay!!! Thank you so much for your video! Have a wonderful weekend!!! 💙
You too!
everytime i watch dr dray vdos, i always say " well hey guys" I love the way she says that word
Dr Dray! I was just talking about this with my mom yesterday lol thanks for all of your help!
Hope you like it!
Little seed farm has good natural deodorants but you might want to go for the more simple scents instead of the heavier kinds. Like lemon
Yeah! I used a natural deodorant and two days later I got what looked like a burn under my armpits was very painful irritation big time
Got the same thing. Check to see if there is baking soda in it. That's what caused it for me. Try and avoid any natural deodorant with that stuff in it from now on, or go back to regular deodorants (nothing wrong with them).
Every time Dr. Dray suggests a product, it goes into my shopping cart. I will go broke but happy 😃
Can we use these same tips on the bikini line?
yes
Your channel is the best.:)
Can you recommend the best way to fade hyperpigmentation from laser hair removal? I burned my leg years ago and decided to give laser another try because I thought the first person who treated me may have been incompetent. My skin is fair. I followed all the protocol, and I'd gotten other areas of the body lasered at other places with no problem. Unfortunately I got burned again. I don't know if the initial burn made my skin more sensitive or what. My skin is still really splotchy and uneven more than a year later. I was really hoping to have normal skin by this spring/summer so I could go swimming again without feeling self-conscious. .
Some natural deodorants are problematic but the arm and hammer is excellent.
What do you recommend to improve dark areas between the legs and the neck?
Hi Dr. Dray! When applying the barrier cream is it best to apply before deodorant? or is it best applied on top of deodorant?
If I have skin problems or have questions about this type of skincare product, i go to this channel, and search if Dray has a video about it. 😁💖 I trust Dr Dray more than my dermatologist i see here personally 😁
Brand new information for me at 55 years old! Thank you Dr. Dra!
Can you do one about upper lip hyper pigmentation? Been living my life feeling insecure about the "shadow" and going out in public with a bare face (pre-covid)
Upper lip hyperpigmentation is due to fluctuations in hormone level is the numbr 1 cause. Other causes i don't knw...
Really helpful. Can these also be used to lighten or whiten dark groin?
Next, please do how to get rid of ingrown hair on armpit 🙏🏼
Paula’s Choice revealing body lotion is AMAZING
Hi Dr.Dray. i have seen some steady results using a neutrogena face wash containing the salicylic acid as you recommended and there is a difference after a month of use. The odor has also been reduced when I use this wash and don't wear deodorant. Thank you so much. I will continue to use this wash on my armpits and I look forward to seeing the darkness fade more.
May i ask if you use this sa wash/ cleanser daily???
@@gracitablom-amelo9431 I've been using it daily, yes. I switched to the cerave bodywash with S.A in it though since the face- wash I was using was too harsh. It has not gotten darker even with the switch
@@youen2 so i jave the neutrogena one with 2%sa and the cerave sa renewing cleanser which has 0.5% sa. Would you advice i use the cerave one?? Tia
@@gracitablom-amelo9431 start with the lower strength product first.
@@youen2 the neutrogena salicylic acid face wash was too harsh on your armpits? How?
I could believe most of these tips could be used around the groin area and knees, no? Thank you for the video DrDray
Can I use these products for dark underarms and neck.
Almactin Daily cream
The ordinary peel
Differin gel
I’ve been plucking my armpit hairs for years and I swear by it! The angles are a little funky. But the hairs are less noticeable since they are growing out from the root instead of being cut in the middle of shaft. It is hard to get a get all the hairs so for occasionas i will get all the In growns or chicken skin hairs that form on the bottom half and then shave . But usually I’m solid if I tweeze the thick ones
You should try out an epilator! It’s so much faster
@@18angiepangie I have one! I just find it so painful 😭 and I have a high pain tolerance
@@alyjay4797 try small areas but pulling the skin very taut. I've been using mine for years and started of by just passing it on the area and it used to hurt. But when I pull the skin its much less painful and don't want for the hairs to grow out fully. As long as they're long enough to get caught I use the epilator
This was å great color for you. The sweather. Love to you Tybee and your Mum
What about sunscreen? Does it helps to avoid and decrease the hiperpigmentation on armpit? Thanks for those tips. As a black woman I am dealing with it since I remember
She is right the Natural deodorant is a culprit
Anastacia is a great eyebrow makeup specialist, please enhance your beauty and book with her or the other celebrity eyebrow specialist Bobby if she still works at Nelson J salon
Hi Dr. Dray! Thank you for this video, it was very helpful. Do you think it's safe to use the Dove Even Tone deodorant? I looking into it but I am no expert when it comes to ingredients.
There is a special place in heaven for people like Dr. Dray❤
thank you doc. i checked my sugar thru hba1c test and its normal so i ruled out that it was due to friction and my current deodorant. will try these recommendations.
What do you think about Perspirex? Is it too irritative and will cause hyperpigmentation?
Im amazed about your knowledge and your content videos. I love your channel. COuld you make a video on your recommendations around face/neck- and bodyexfoliation?
