      I think its all about understanding your options. Unfortunately, salons selling systems cloak them in mystery and obscure language, designed to confuse the customer and make them more prone to put themselves in the hands of a so-called professional. All you're really doing is dealing with a salesman, not a consultant thats truly concerned with you achieving the best results. Thats why channels like this one are so great. They help demystify everything and simplify the information. After someone becomes familiar with terminology like density, graduated hairlines, templates, single/double knotting, V looping, skin, lace etc, they can then make better choices and achieve better results. If you find a supplier willing to work with you, you're halfway there! 9/10, the best results have come from wearers going the DIY route, rather than relying on a salon.

    Thank you. Very informative....love your videos. I went from lace to a poly type skin base. Not the really thin skin and not disposable. I also switched from ghost bond to tape all around and across the center.
    I can't tell you how much time and effort using tape, along with a poly base system, has saved me. In my opinion there is no comparison regarding ease of clean up with tape and poly vs lace and glue. Tape v glue is a breeze. The glue on the lace would take me forever to clean up.
    Don't misunderstand me, I love lace and I loved attaching with the ghost bond. It's simply that the time factor with clean-up and reinstall is significantly less with poly base and tape. Just my two cents. More like ten cents lol. Thanks again for your videos!

    • @rickdouglas5830
      @rickdouglas5830 2 года назад +3

      Hi Chrise ! Thank you! You are so right, tape makes clean up so easy. With the poly unit, I actually pat the removed hair system with toilet paper (better than cotton) and spray it with c22 remover and lay it skin side down in a glass tray over night. The next morning I just wipe it off. Super easy, takes five minutes. I always have a clean unit ready to go when I take one off. Having two are more units makes it less time consuming. I also usually use walker hard bond on the hd111. My skin is really oily and I can get 7 days with the hard bond. I am super picky about it all and the ghost bond doesn’t like my gym workout. Lol. Good to hear from you! Happy hair!

      Hi n pill, super thin poly systems and lace systems all make for a very good natural looking hairline! Thin poly pieces like the HD111 tend to have a slightly better natural looking front hairline due to its thinner material and V-loop ventilation. The only downside is its lifespan which is around 4-6 weeks. Swiss Lace or French Lace have a very good balance regarding natural-looking, breathability and life span. If you have any more questions, feel free to contact our customer support team. Thanks!

    Hi Rick: Great review, yet again. Thank you! I've been using the M101 - 540 model for around a year. I can get around 3 months out of it before I need to have it dyed (my hair dresser does this). I then use the dyed unit as my spare and re-fit a new one at the 3 month mark. These are great units, but you can't really expose the hairline. I have a standard side comb style with a bit of bangs, so you can kind of see up to the hairline but not quite, so it's not a problem. I have also purchased two other units that I haven't worn yet, to experiment. M106 (French lace with - poly border around back). Looking for something a little cooler and lake friendly for the summer. M161 (poly base with Swiss lace front - looking for a more invisible hairline, and around 3 months of durability). In both cases I'm hoping that the French lace and Swiss lace fronts will be somewhat invisible if glued properly. Any thoughts on that? My only reluctance on the HD111 is the price on an annual basis. Looks great though, and I really think you've nailed the placement on your forehead. I think some folks put them a little too far back. Yours looks completely natural. Thanks again. David

      Hi Prindad! Thank you for the compliments. It sounds like you have a great plan going. I have worn an m101 before but I have so many demands on the hairline that it becomes the less that perfect choice for me. I over-directed the front a bit and that looked ok but I still thought the hd111 met my very particular demands for the hairline. The lace units will have a great hairline. I have found that there is a learning curve whenever you try a different unit. I still have the lace unit and every time I do a new install I look at it and think - maybe, then I say nah! Next time lol. Wishing you great hair success!

      @@paulhaley5009 hope you’re doing good. There aren’t simple answers to your questions. I am a stylist so I have an advantage there. This is what I would recommend. Order the unit, watch a video on measuring and cutting it to fit what you need. Use ghost bond adhesive on the front and tape around the edge everywhere else. (It’s easier than a hard bond) Then go to a stylist to get it cut. You’re going to run into a lot of money by going somewhere for it all. Be aware, there is a learning curve and it takes a bit of experience to get it down. I have a video of a time my install went south. It doesn’t happen often but when it does it’s not pretty, lol. If money is no issue you could certainly go for the complete service but, honestly, they don’t look as good as mine. Plus, when we are told we can go six weeks with an install??? Think about it, go for six weeks without your scalp being washed……no thanks. Thanks for the question and have a great day…..Rick

      Hey David, you know, there are so many options and so many variables when it comes to this subject. All I can speak of is my personal experience. With my totally exposed hairline I have found success two ways. One with lace and the other with the hd111. The lace for me is a pain to clean up but it is cooler for summer. I have the lace unit that I’m wearing in the video but haven’t had it on my head again. I’m so fast at installing the hd111 and it looks so good, I back off from any change. I have a beech video where I’m wearing a more durable, uh, I think M 101 ??? It was good for the beech but not for exposing the hairline. Hello bangs, lol. As far as placement, yup, 💯 % the key. TOTALLY THE KEY. It’s a mistake I see professional people make over and over. Nothing says wig more than a unit too far back. Another thing is how it blends at the temples. All the rest works if you get those two thing right. I sometimes accidentally get it too far back and am in a bad mood for the entire week, haha. Not redoing it though, just get it right the next time. I think we all have to find the choice that meets our personal needs and requirements, Sound as though you’ve got it figured out man! Thanks, have a good one.
