Would be cool to start a hair co-op/collective/fund of some type to allow lower income men to have the opportunity to have hair pieces. The cost for many is just too much when there are other bills to pay just to make it ends meet.

I think you are super brave for going on RUclips and showing your process. It looks really good and definitely suits you and it also makes you look 10 years younger. Went this route. Not any more. A few thoughts. 1. The public does NOT care what you do. They have their own problems, and worrying about what they think is a waste of time. 2. This is not always a hair issue. Rather, a self acceptance issue. My guess is that most of the clients have struggled with self image. This will be ongoing problem with all aspects with your appearance. Best to treat the core problem. 3. The system/unit ALWAYS looks better when you are in the saloon. Once you leave, it gradually loses its sharpness. A little looser due to remaining hair starting to grow, the color changes slightly in the sun, more tangles etc. Overall, it is a personal choice. However, strong self-acceptance trumps a hair piece in my opinion.

Rick, agree that density is the #1 mistake men make. Especially western-geography men. 80% is a good range, whereas Asian men might be 90-100 or even 110-120. I'm 64 and have been wearing hair since 1984, where I got my first hair system from (deceased) Sy Sterling's Hair Club for Men. In fact I used to work for him in NY & Boston when I was young on weekends helping new clients make the decision. So yeah, I agree about the density decision as the most critical. And most men can get away with stock units and not a custom order, as long as you have enough "temple hair" of your own. Otherwise one may consider a custom order for a better hairline. Thin-skin vs. lace both have pros/cons, but either is an excellent choice. About 3 years ago I stopped using tape or ghost bond on my thin skin units and switched to Got2Be. Only holds a week but I prefer the fast refresh and scalp wash weekly anyway. My best move came about 15 years ago when I started cutting my own stock units using a mannequin head, and a vacuum-based hair cutting machine..and lots of hair-styling how-to's on RUclips. Looks fine to me...but I recommend most men apply a new unit at home and head to the barber with a baseball hat and let them cut it in. No reason not to apply yourself. Keeps costs down.
