Unfortunately there are a few people like that out there. I recently met one (also through work) who had managed to rope the guy into marrying her for a passport. He had recently divorced so was in a bad place, met her on hliday, had a short long distance thing and married her for a passport. He openly admitted that he regretted it and wished they had dated properly, but was trapped with her now (lockdown started a month before this, so he was literally stuck with her). Weirdly, he seemed a lot like Travis (in sales, good speaker, business type). I got to witness first hand what life with Jodie would have been like for Travis. Scary as hell! She even looked a bit like her, but lighter hair/eyes, same flat 'aspect' the woman mentioned, dead behind the eyes when you talk to her but very charming and controlled. Although the guy was a mess as they had bought a huge house on mortgage, pets, holiday, clothes, etc, then she refused to get a job so he was left paying for all of it. He had turned completely grey in a couple of years, looked hyper/on edge all the time, stressed out, like he was on the edge of a panic attack. Apparently she has huge anger issues, argues about everything to get her way, drinks too much, relies on weed to do anything, and is a massive control freak. She ended up manipulating her way into the company so we had to work with her. She still tried to act sweet and charming when dealing with us, but would basically tell you what she wanted rather than discussing anything, despite having no real experience or knowledge. It was pretty infuriating. She'd complain about and mock him to us (the women) and asked if we knew any guys with more money as she was angry she had to share any with his kid (from his ex) and that he didn't have more. But the guys loved her as she was very much focused on her appearance and doing the same fake charm thing that Jodie does. She ended up getting him to sign over half of his ownership of his company. Hopefully he doesn't try to divorce her as I suspect she would make his life hell, even if she didn't go 'full Jodie' on him! Warning to everyone to make sure you get to know somene REALLY well before agreeing to marry them! This guy is now stuck with an angry psycho unless he wants his and his child's life ruined.

It’s interesting to hear from someone who observed Jodi’s behavior about Travis. At first, I thought her main motivation for seducing him was because he’d told her that he, being a Mormon, didn’t believe in sex before marriage, and she took that as a challenge. That certainly might have been a part of it, but it’s clearer to me now that she didn’t feel she could compete with the type of women in Travis’s circle. They were better educated, had better backgrounds as far as conduct goes, etc. She felt the only thing she really had to offer was sex. She wanted to meet his every sexual need and then some, make him not able to do without it/her, in a quest to get that ring on her finger. It doesn’t appear she offered much of anything more, other than being baptized into the Mormon church, which was easy to do. She didn’t try to fit in or get along with his friends or support him emotionally, two things she could’ve done to make herself of more value. When the sex didn’t work, she started with a blackmail plan which is why she taped the salacious phone calls. When he threatened to turn the tables on her and expose things to his friends and her family that she’d done, she hatched the murder plot. Jodi has to win at all costs.
The judge should’ve ordered her to shave her head and cuff her hands behind her back, then force her to listen to the phone sex tapes in front of everyone without covering her face. The biggest fear of a covert narcissist is being exposed.

Travis was not used to a woman like Jodi. Its obvious he was not perfect and was ready for a decent woman after he had his fun with Jodi. Its not much different than a lot of men. It is no excuse for him to be barbarically murdered. If that's the case a whole lotta men would be dead. He didn't deserve that just because he was done with her. She apparently acted in ways that were disturbing. He had a right to want to move on.

It's quite easy to agree with you, BUT, if she were sentenced to life, she would have access to the prison population. She would eat her meals and exercise with the other prisoners, she would share a cell, thus having companionship for life. If she were sentenced to death, she would eat her meals and exercise ALONE!!! She would NOT share a cell. The process 'could' take as much as 20 years to be put to death. In that time, she would have NO companionship & few visitors. THAT would be her Hell.

It’s common for family members and friends to remain silent when a loved one is dating a bad person, unfortunately. Nobody wants to deliver the news, unless it’s an EXCEPTIONAL friend who truly loves that person. Otherwise, you’re on your own and your mistakes and terrible judgments are your own fault. It happened to me and my current wife suffers innumerably because of my inability to see truth in a bad person and remove myself from the situation.
The former co-worker is shrewd picking up that Jodi's post-murder message taken from Travis' voice mail do reference Cancun -- I think Arias mentioned it twice.
But it's clear she didn't like her. After listening to all the witnesses, its clear nobody liked her. Except for Travis. He was the only one giving her attention, money, favors, social life, etc. She was certain she wouldn't find another guy like him

This is ridiculous. So many people have come forward trying to get their 15 minutes of fame saying stuff that we already know. We already know that Jodi was obsessed with Travis. And by the way... I've driven from Palm Desert to Phoenix and it's a little under 4 hours if you take the I-10 the whole way. Weird, yeah, that she would go all that way after working... but it's not like driving 10 hours or anything. It's certainly not as long of a drive as this lady is making it sound.

He was hoping she would change her mind and after the house was sold. Move to Monteray, instead of paying the house bills and working. She was to busy trying to snag Travis. The house went into foreclosure.

I believe there is manipulation in Jordi Arias' case. When she was dating Travis, she was judged since the first day. The mormon church never gave her a chance to know more about her even she was converted. Travis was devoted to church, but why was he cheating her with several women? Also, he made her to convert to his religion. When you don't expect to have a serious relationship, you can't make the person to have high expectations and invest too much in this relationship.
