ABOUT THE PERFORMERS
5 influential men, 5 film directors and 5 journeys around the world. GQ and Gucci join forces for The Performers, a series of 5 exploratory short films taking artists to a place that inspires their work and worldview. Act I launched with Primal Scream’s Bobby Gillespie in Tangier, as he searched for his ultimate creative hero, Jean Genet, followed by Act II, where Michelin-starred chef Massimo Bottura talked jazz in Milan and Modena. The series continues with Act III, as Stranger Things star Charlie Heaton embarks on a dreamlike tour of Manhattan. For Act IV, pioneering Japanese architect Junya Ishigami explores the jungles of Yucatan and the world’s deepest underwater cave, and painter, sculptor and performance artist Zhang Huan heads to the most elemental place on earth, Death Valley, for Act V.
