Yesterday I finally beat Nordfels with two difficulty mods. Your games have such an amazing difficulty system. Easy enough to enter but also giving you the option to absolutely crank the difficulty

I am extremely hyped for the launch of Thronefall! The demo kept me playing for hours trying to find the optimal strategy which was extremely fun! Can't wait!

I played the demo and absolutely adored it. I'd easily pay 10-15 euro for this game and get 100 hours in. The gameplay is super addictive.
Just hppe the game gets tons of patches, updates and dlc after launch. (I can totally imagine this game having a bunch of cheap payed dlc's that would add a buncg of cool content)
I'm definitely excited to keep making content for Thronefall for a while. :D

Okay this might not be ordinary feedback but I promise it's still positive, I actually found the demo to be a lot more fun than I expected, I guess from watching the devlogs I didn't really pick up on the gameplay loop, but I was still going to play the game because I enjoy your videos. Turns out the game is very addicting and genuinely challenging!
I think I was expecting it to be like Kingdom where you either get ahead of the wave and sit there idly to survive the night or you don't get ahead of the wave and you sit there idly as you lose, but you actually have agency in this game. It's more than just "if you spend all your money on the buildings as they unlock then you win."
I'll definitely be buying it in August and hope anyone who felt the same way as I did gives the game a shot :D
edit: Also congrats for being in the top 10 most played next fest demos!

I have been hooked playing this game ... such good music, and it feels simple yet difficult and the way one can challenge themselves with the perks and all it's awesome ...... and to add to the happiness it's my mothers' bday that day.
Jonas made a game called Will You Snail? I thought it could be fun if he made more games with titles that follow the same template. How about "Would You Voodoo?"

I'm curious if Baldur's Gate 3 was a consideration since it comes out the next day, and is highly anticipated, and it will likely drain expendable funds from a good chunk of the players on steam. Wondering if it's not even viewed as competition because it's an RPG as opposed to a base-building game - but I feel like there would be some overlap in the folks who would enjoy both and therefore affect sales of Throne Fall. Interested to see - don't worry, I'll be picking up Throne Fall since I bought BG3 a few years back for early access. Exciting. Congrats on making it to release!
Was thinking the exact same thing, hope that the release of BG3 (which I cant wait for!) wont affect the success of Thronefall!
I just recently played the demo, had fun and even challenged the turtle god ^^ All in all, really impressive how far you already got!
However, I missed the ability to give your troops some basic commands, like stay, attack or fall back. I often lead them to a specific place before I started the night, but as soon as any other enemy appeared on screen they would forget everything about positioning and charge at him at full speed. Also, I was really lucky to just have build the required unit types by accident before the fast/flying enemy waves, which would have obliterated me otherwise. Maybe there could be some more information on the enemy stats and abilities in addition to the symbol while hovering the wave marker. While it is nice to have some unlockable building and unit upgrades, I also felt a bit limited in my build options in the start. The players HP bar is kind of hard to see during battles, so I would sometimes not notice if I was low on health and die. Finally, I found a spot in the tutorial level, where you could clip through the cliff surrounding the downwards path, causing your horse to fly for a few seconds until it reaches the ground again. And I know that you decided in a previous devlog against showing villagers during the daytime due to avoiding overcrowding, but I really think it would be nice to be able to look at interact with the townsfolk, adding to the contrast between the relaxing day and the dangerous night.
Demo was very fun to play. Definitely buying this when it comes out

Wow this was so fast compare to "will you snail". To be fair Thronfall are from two developer and it is an complete different genre. But neverless. Have the feeling that thronfall build up very fast.

Hey Jonas! I have a question that is not related to the video but it is about Game Dev. So I'm trying to learn Unity and I'm trying with a tutorial for beginners but every time I try to follow it something goes wrong (the project doesn't save properly or there is a bug even if i followed the tutorial) and it's been crushing my hopes a bit. I want to learn how to make games and I enjoyed it when it works but I'm scared that I'm cursed and I will never be able to make a game. What should I do?
First of all: Realize that game development is 90% problem solving.
You are not alone with this. You wanna make games? You gotta solve technical problems. That's pretty much the job description, lol. :D
The frustration usually comes in when you set your expectations too high too soon, so just take it slow and do things one step at a time.
About Unity not saving, usually what beginners do is they keep changing stuff while the game is in paused mode. The problem is, when you leave play mode, everything resets to how it was when you pressed the play button. So never edit in play mode. If it's a different issue, then I'm not sure. Maybe try installing a different version of Unity in that case (the main difference between Unity versions is that they all have different bugs lol). Or if it turns out that your PC can't handle a heavy weight program like Unity, perhaps try something like Godot, Pygame or GameMaker instead. All the best!! :)
