Summer 2024: IMD Warns of Heatwave Spells Lasting 10-20 days in April-June

India headed for a longer warmer Summer. Max temps in range of 40-42 degrees recorded in west MP, west Bengal, Maha, Gujarat, AP in last week. During February and March, the southern peninsular India had experienced hotter than normal weather conditions. Heatwave conditions were reported from Maharashtra, northern Karnataka, Saurashtra-Kutch and parts of Rajasthan during late March. The maximum temperatures recorded during the past week reached 42.6 degrees Celsius in pockets of Akola in Maharashtra and Phalodi in Rajasthan. IMD predicts warm April- June. Every single day of this extremely worst heat 42 to 45 degrees in Pune Maharshtra citizens are struggling to survive through where sometimes it gets suffocating and unable to breathe properly, the concerned electricity divisions are depriving consumers of basic ammenity for survival through it by cutting off electricity for hours together every single day of this worst heat wave. When the electricity does switch on it is given on completely low voltage on certains switches/ areas. People's fridges, fans and other devices are getting damaged or bursting cause of this. Such extreme heat and no voltage or such low voltage causing electronics to all of a sudden experience this type of intermitent power supply are causing fire outbreaks. But do they care that there might be old people, children, those who are already unwell, poorer people who hardly have 1 fan to survive through this heat? As long as they are comfortable in Air Conditioned offices with generator back up and then go to homes with ACs in all rooms it doesn't matter to them or any other.

Garments made of cotton can be very comfortable to wear in the heat. The fabric can retain a lot of liquids that slowly evaporate and makes the garment cooler. Thin and light cotton fabric is preferred over thicker and darker ones. Look for garments that are made from 100% cotton.
