Ah I wondered if you would turn your gaze upon Taskmaster at some point, and now you have. One of the truly hilarious current shows. Hope you watch more and enjoy
I was waiting for them to react to Taskmaster too hahah. It's practically unavoidable once you start delving into the british comedy scene. Such a perfect show
i think Taskmaster is notoriously hard for reaction channels to do without gtting blocked. They put the episodes in full on their channel, which is great, but they seem to be very kee on the youtube monopoly on it.
Taskmaster episodes are an hour long and each episode features five tasks. It’s not a hidden camera show and the tasks normally just involve the celebrity contestants doing ridiculous things. Then Greg Davies, The Taskmaster, takes the piss out of their attempts! Very simple format but absolutely hilarious…
Catherine lives in the UK. Hence she is on so many UK shows. She used to work for Hooters and came here to help them open their first outlet/location/joint. Spent some time here, loved it and decided to emigrate to the UK. I think she had done a little bit of TV work in Canada and found herself a niche and very successful career in Britain. I think Jimmy Carr saw her at a comedy club and insisted they book her for 8 out of 10 cats. The rest, is history. She is now one the UKs top stand up comedians. She went from working in Hooters to being a millionaire as a single mother. A few years ago, she got back together with her high school sweetheart (not the father of her first child), got married and had a kid. Is literally everything I know about her.
She comes from Canada, now lives in Britain she’s a stand-up comedian you can see her on all sorts of shows like Mock the Week QI 8 out of 10 Cats, most of the comedians do the same shows
The secret solo tasks are one of my favorite Taskmaster moments among many great moments. Josh Widdecombes was the first I ever saw and I laughed so hard.
Taskmaster was created by Alex Horne, Greg Davies assistant and consists of 5 comedians doing weird and wonderful tasks. The beauty of the show is that the same 5 comedians compete in the whole season, ranging from 6-10 episodes, with the winners receiving a bust of the Taskmasters head. The fun of the show is seeing how each of the contestants interprets the task given them, some good, some bad and some outright genius!
Taskmaster started in the UK, but has been exported around the globe. For example I was in Oslo and was surprised to see a Norwegian version (however, this was in 2019)
There are currently versions of the show in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, New Zealand, Finland, Portugal, French-speaking Canada and Australia. There have also been series made in Belgium, Spain, Croatia and the US (although the less said about that the better.) Junior Taskmaster (if you didn't already know) will begin later this year, presented by Rose Matafeo, assisted by Mike Wozniak.
Keep these coming, there are so many great Taskmaster clips, a lot of the comedians you like take part too, like Bob Mortimer, James Acaster, Lee Mack to name a few. Some of my fave clips are: Eat as much watermelon as possible (S1, E1) Physically recreate a classic computer game (S7, E10) Camouflage yourself (S4, E3) Alex is on that bridge in the distance with lights on his head. Get as close as you can to Alex without him noticing you. Alex will duck down behind the wall for 10 seconds, then pop up for 10 seconds, then back down for 10 seconds, and so on until he notices you (S8, E1) Get this potato into the golf hole (S2, E1) One at a time, make a noise without the Taskmaster identifying you. The person who makes the most unidentifiable noises wins (S12, E10)
I absolutely love Taskmaster. Such a clever and hilarious show. Started out in the UK but they’ve had a US series that didn’t go down too well and there’s also been one over in New Zealand. There’s been about 15/16 seasons in the UK so far. You should definitely look at some of the episodes if you can find them or do more of these 😁
Taskmaster is brilliant. I would definitely recommend going back to the beginning and doing full episodes.. Break them up like you did with countdown of you need to... You will love it
Taskmaster is very much a British show, they licenced it out to other territories like a lot of successful shows though, if you can try full shows I'd recommend it because it's a brilliant show. With Taskmaster what the rules *don't* say is at least as important as what they do say. 👌
Lol, nice video, Greg Davis is the "Taskmaster" and the premise of the show is that he asks his guests to do strange or weird or difficult tasks, usually resulting in funny outcomes. The guests are mostly comedians that are well known in the UK. Katherine Ryan is well known in the uk and appears in a lot of shows. Bob Mortimer also appeared in one of the taskmaster series, try to find the one where they have to make and wear a mask out of food, it is hilarious! Other comedians that you know have also appeared in it, eg: The Pub Landlord, James Acaster, Lee Mac, etc. 8-)
Love this show so much.. Joe Wilkinson provides one of the most iconic taskmaster moments with a potato. Search Joe Wilkinson gets a potato into a golf hole.. It's only a short clip so maybe try taskmaster disqualifications for a longer reaction 🙏💙
Yes it is British and has huge following. Katherine is a Canadian but now lives in the UK with her husband and three children. She is also a TV presenter and writer but appears on many shows like wilty.
Taskmaster is a huge success in the UK, Alex Horne created the show and asked Greg Davies to host it. The show has most celebrities you would see from across UK TV and it's now up to 15 series.
A fact about Katherine. She once was in a show (Who Do you Think You Are) and discovered her lineage went back to Family in the UK. And the Town, wait for it, Corfe. So you’ve visited her ancestral home.
Taskmaster is a great show. The original UK version is up to Series 17, NZ version is up to 4 series, and the Australian version is about to screen its 2nd series, and a quite a few non English speaking countries are doing versions as well. Katherine Ryan is Canadian and as far as I know she was living/working in UK when she first tried Stand Up and hasn't looked back. Katherine is worked lots of her own shows and as a guest, and has also worked quite a lot with Jimmy Carr.
Taskmaster is an hour programme. Each series has different contestants and all the Tasks are different. Katherine Ryan is Irish/Canadian, she lives in Ireland.
very early on there were a couple of tasks where they had to interact with the public, but apparently everyone felt really uncomfortable and it really hadn't been (intentionally) trying to be a prank show, so it actually moves pretty hard away from this kind of thing, though there is a very crowdpleasing Swedish variant on having to deal with people that keeps coming back
The British candid camera show you should watch is called “Balls of steel” 🤣 Catherine Ryan came to the uk because she knew it had a very Burgeoning comedy circuit and she knew the Brits would get her humour - if you want to know more about her you should also check out her personal episode of “who do you think you are” where she retraces her family tree - and as a side note - when she was filming that episode back in her hometown in Canada she was in a bar and in walked her high school sweetheart who dumped her on prom night - they stayed in touch and now they are married and he lives with her in London. Sweet story.
Katherine has lived here many years. She has an interesting story about her husband. I think she went back to Canada for a documentary and she connected with an old sweetheart . I believe she tells the story on Jonathan Ross.
The UK has a well established network of comedy clubs around the country, particularly in London. So you get stand-ups like Katherine Ryan moving here from Canada, Australia, Ireland etc Quite a few now from other European countries as well. American comedians not so much as you have strong culture of comedy clubs over there yourselves.
Here's the very thing you asked for... Balls of Steel - Neg's Urban Sports. Neg's the chap participating in a variety of 'sports', which are hilariously ballsy. Knock and don't run, Burger bowl off, Urban Sprinting and Big Stranger Rodeo are a few of my favourites but I like them all. Enjoy.
Other commenters have noted about Katherine Ryan, but it is fairly common for a lot of US/Canadian Stand Up Comedians to move to the UK, as it has been noted by many, in particular Rich Hall (granted he's married to an English lass), that the Stand Up Comedy circuit is so much better in the UK as most major towns and cities have some form of comedy club or small/mid size venues which are perfect for comedy, and there's usually a good size audience turns up. Whereas in the US the cicuit is so much more spread out, with less venues and audiences are usually a lot more thinner on the ground to find. There is also the issue that some of the big name comedy clubs which get good attendance are mainly located in very large cities like New York so the audiences aren't that diverse as it's usually expensive to go see the shows if your coming from out of town.
The best original comedy show in UK right now. It’s always good, always original tasks every season, and it’s massive global hit now with many international remakes.
They are all Celebs in these type of British Shows. This is a Great Programme, so, it would be Marvelous if you did more. It's one of those Games you can play with your Friends.
I hope you react to more Taskmaster, it originally British, other countries has done a version, it creator is Alex Horne, which Alex Horne band the Horne section provides, America did one series. There are so many clips to choose from. I think it best to start from chronical order, Which be water melon challenge and bath.
Taskmaster is yet another personal favourite of mine. They do have a Bob Mortimer on season 5. He always seems to improve a show whatever he is doing for me. Maybe watch Gone Fishing with his friend Paul Whitehouse. It may sound like a tedious watch, but it's far from that. It shows their friendship and the British the countryside at its Best. Oh and watch out for Ted. He steals the show from them both. 😊
This is such a great show. All seasons are good. Started in the UK and now has versions all over the world, but the UK version is considered best by most.
The dual passport isn't automatic in such a case (same true of my family): she has to apply for British citizenship... which she may have done I don't know
She is a dual citizen but not with Britain. She has an Irish passport so she never needs to apply for a British one to live and work there. Her father is Irish, born in cork and emigrated to Canada in the seventies. Her grandparents on her mother’s side are Irish too.
A British stand up comedian, Nina Conti, has an act that is different, in that she uses a ventriloquist format. on RUclips one of her acts is: Nina Conti audience participation gets raunchy, she also does an act with a mischievous monkey.
You'll quite likely see a bunch of US/Canadian comedians appear on some of the UK panel shows. There are a few who have made a career for themselves in this country and now live here. So, Kathrine Ryan is one, then you have people like Rich Hall, Reginald D. Hunter, and Stuart Francis.

She's done plenty of shows, many of which are with Jimmy Carr like Your Face or Mine, 8 out of 10 cats and Big Fat Quiz of the year. I would suggest you guys going through Taskmaster season 1 onward(quality of season 1 was meh but season 2 onwards was brilliant), it is essentially comedians going through tasks and trying to win as many points as possible to become the season champion of Taskmaster and after that there is Taskmaster Champion of Champions episodes. The comedians per season are varied so you will see plenty of contestants that you are already familiar with.
Love taskmaster. Big worldwide. Started in uk. Didn't cross to usa very well. They didn't get it. Very funny game show with 5 different comedians each series
In my opinion, taskmaster is the best british 'panel show' on right now. It's better than WILTY or Cats Does Countdown. The best way to enjoy this show is watching it in order from series 1 episode 1.
Wow, I'd given up asking for you to watch this show. Very glad you got round to doing it. Given it's a copmpetiton, this is definatley one where you should watchn the whole show and not just clips. You will be amazed at how many people you recognise as contestants. Not least being Al Murray. Please, go back and start at Series 1 episode 1.
Taskmaster is my fave show by miles. But you have to watch full episodes. Each season has the same contestants. Every new season you get new contestants. They have kind of stories and in jokes running through them. So you only get the full effect if you watch each season from episode 1
Watching that pizza ordering task gave me anxiety! Great stuff though, and yep, more of these video clippy tubey JobMistress episodes (buzz! damnit!) thingy please! Yes that! Thank yous!
I guess sometimes comedians from other countries just find a way to start a career in the UK. There are a few Canadians and USians floating around, very much working the UK market. She’s extremely popular and has sell out tours. I do see people who don’t believe women can be funny seem to dislike her, presumably because her awesomeness destroys their beliefs
8oo10cdc, Would i lie to you? And Taskmaster is so good. I am Czech, and i think in the UK they have very similair style of humor as we do here, but their comedians, and these shows are just the best.
You ask for suggestions. I don’t think you’ve done Billy Connolly yet. He is, unfortunately, known for his swearing but even though I’m a senior citizen, I can put up with it as he is hilarious. Get the potato in the hole without stepping on the red green is an absolute must!
Taskmaster may just be my favorite British show. It’s unlike anything else there is on tv.
I absolutely love Taskmaster. Such a clever and hilarious show. Started out in the UK but they’ve had a US series that didn’t go down too well and there’s also been one over in New Zealand. Bob Mortimer top 4 hilarious Taskmaster moments. First one Bob's toilet problem.😂

Hi Nick and Jodi, I am thrilled you're doing Taskmaster, too. The show has sooooo many great moments. Looking forward to more coverage of the show.

Searching taskmaster disqualifications would surely remove a big part of great the moments are
Need to watch the whole task for the full experience
You need to do the Get this potato into the golf hole task

Sometimes she makes fun of her daughters English accent.
Taskmaster is one of my favourite programs, it is pure genius.

A fact about Katherine. She once was in a show (Who Do you Think You Are) and discovered her lineage went back to Family in the UK. And the Town, wait for it, Corfe. So you’ve visited her ancestral home.
You have to react the clip from this season where they have to throw a potato into a hole without touching the red green. Insane clip
Taskmaster is a great show. You really should react to whole episodes - you could split them into parts. They are hysterical!!!
So glad you enjoyed this guys, great reaction ❤
You should do the full episodes, theyre amazingly brilliant.
Each episode is named after a random phrase that someone says in the show. In this case, "Pork is a sausage."
This is such a good show, you should also look for the task, Get the potato into the whole, task
Love Taskmaster, Glad you have added it to your repertoire 😀
Taskmaster is an hour programme. Each series has different contestants and all the Tasks are different. Katherine Ryan is Irish/Canadian, she lives in Ireland.
really enjoying your reactions, feel like this would be great for full episode reactions
This was the best season of Taskmaster. Watch the ' get the potato in the golf hole challenge ' 🤣 Joe Wilkinson is comedy gold.
Catherine Ryan is a Canadian comedian who has been living in the UK for many years.....probably over a decade.
very early on there were a couple of tasks where they had to interact with the public, but apparently everyone felt really uncomfortable and it really hadn't been (intentionally) trying to be a prank show, so it actually moves pretty hard away from this kind of thing, though there is a very crowdpleasing Swedish variant on having to deal with people that keeps coming back

yes please! more taskmaster🥰 I would suggest watching full episodes from the start to really get the feel for the show
Katherine has lived here many years. She has an interesting story about her husband. I think she went back to Canada for a documentary and she connected with an old sweetheart . I believe she tells the story on Jonathan Ross.
DWARF ON A BUS - Billy Connolly
YESSSS!!! Taskmaster is awesome, more more more, its probably best watched in full episodes and series. Some legendary comedy moments throughout

@welshgit I'll bet you enjoy explaining how magic tricks are performed too.

Awesome reaction as ever, you want a hidden camera show there’s only one that tops the list…balls of steel
I met Katherine Ryan in 2018, after one of her London shows. She's awesome and so friendly.
You pair are genuinely getting a pretty good handle on a part of UK pop culture.
Catherine is of Canadian Irish descent. Lives in England. Brilliant comedion
Yes! Brilliant! More Taskmaster please ❤
Balls of steel is like impractical jokers
I hope you react to more Taskmaster, it originally British, other countries has done a version, it creator is Alex Horne, which Alex Horne band the Horne section provides, America did one series.

There's Taskmaster in many countries. The original UK one is probably the best, but the NZ version is right up there.
Love Taskmaster! Please react to full episodes in order
Taskmaster is one of the best shows on television, in any country.
This is such a great show. All seasons are good. Started in the UK and now has versions all over the world, but the UK version is considered best by most.
Yeeeeeeees!
Katherine Ryan is Canadian by birth but now has dual citizenship, she's a comedian who works mainly in the UK.
She was able to come work and live in Britain as she already had dual citizenship with Ireland as her father is Irish
Re Katherine:
Sometimes people move to other countries.
Katherine lives in the UK and her children were born here so are British, which means she has a dual passport.
Catherine has lived in the UK for years now
A British stand up comedian, Nina Conti, has an act that is different, in that she uses a ventriloquist format. on RUclips one of her acts is: Nina Conti audience participation gets raunchy, she also does an act with a mischievous monkey.

Like many Canadians Catherine Ryan has dual nationality. Her career developed in the UK.
Taskmaster is an awesome show! Definitely react to more plz!!!!!
Greg is brilliant as the Taskmaster
This has made me sooo happy, this is up there with WILTY !! 🥰😁👏🏻👍🇬🇧
We are now all patiently waiting for potatogate....
This is brilliant some of the stuff in the 1st series are really funny
Jimmy Carr gave Katherine assistance when she came over.
Love taskmaster. Big worldwide. Started in uk. Didn't cross to usa very well. They didn't get it. Very funny game show with 5 different comedians each series
Taskmaster is awesome, I caught on to it late but I've binged all 16 seasons, well worth watching.
If you're musical try "Never Mind the Buzzcocks"
In my opinion, taskmaster is the best british 'panel show' on right now. It's better than WILTY or Cats Does Countdown. The best way to enjoy this show is watching it in order from series 1 episode 1.
Wow, I'd given up asking for you to watch this show. Very glad you got round to doing it. Given it's a copmpetiton, this is definatley one where you should watchn the whole show and not just clips. You will be amazed at how many people you recognise as contestants. Not least being Al Murray. Please, go back and start at Series 1 episode 1.
Taskmaster!!!! One of my favourites.
Katherine Ryan is a Canadian who has now set up home in London with her partner and children.
You need to watch through the Taskmaster clip - Song for a Stranger. 😂
Honestly that clip has the best payoff if you've seen the whole series, especially for mark and nish
No-one in the UK uses the word pie relating to Pizza.
Taskmaster is my fave show by miles. But you have to watch full episodes. Each season has the same contestants. Every new season you get new contestants. They have kind of stories and in jokes running through them. So you only get the full effect if you watch each season from episode 1

Great stuff though, and yep, more of these video clippy tubey JobMistress episodes (buzz! damnit!) thingy please! Yes that!
Thank yous!
You definitely have to check out episodes with Bob Mortimer, Al Murray and Aisling Bea...
Kathryn is very much part of the British comedy scene.
Katherine Ryan lives in the UK with her daughter and husband is a top comedienne.
Great show
I guess sometimes comedians from other countries just find a way to start a career in the UK. There are a few Canadians and USians floating around, very much working the UK market. Rich Hall and Reginald D. Hunter seem to be far more known in th UK than the US.

I guess it's something unusual and unique so you stand out more.
It's definitely worth watching a full episode rather than clips.
Katherine looked pissed that she didn't do better. Yeah this was ok and quite entertaining
I don't think the lady comedian is liked by too many people here but she is on everything, yes

Billy Connolly DWARF ON A BUS Live in London 2010. Well worth watching it.
