Hello and great content. I’m from the U.S and will be traveling to Lagos November 1st. I’m used to the TSA requirements in the U.S for carry on luggage in particular the 311 rule for toiletry items. When I fly out of Lagos to come back to the U.S are the requirements for carry on the same/similar as the U.S TSA requirements for carry on luggage? Thanks
After living in London for 30 years I finally became a British Citizen and got my British Passport. THE DIFFERENCE IN THE CHOICE OF PLACES I CAN FLY TO 100+, without a visa or visa on arrival is insane. I finally flew to Bangkok Thailand after giving up trying to go on my Nigerian passport (criminal record check, drug check, guarantor and proof of income). With a British Passport I walked through customs in a few minutes with 1 question and a 1 way ticket and got a 45 day visa stamp. Night and Day experiences. AND THE PASSPORT CAME IN 2 WEEKS AND LASTS FOR 10 YEARS.
Don’t u know Nigeria passport is completely useless all over the world.Traveling with Nigeria passport is like traveling with a loaded gun in your carry on luggage.
Thanks Sassy Funke for the information. Can you also do a video on what to expect when arriving the Lagos airport from any country. Some people haven’t been to Nigeria in a while and would be nice for them to know what to expect. Thanks for all you do.
Expect to hear "bless me, bless me" as soon as you get off the flight. Be prepared to go from your cold flight to a hot airport, be prepared to see people jump from behind you in the line to front of you bc they give bribes to by-pass the process. Also, if you fill any paperwork for anything online, make sure you have a hard copy printed out, they will be angry if you show them electronic confirmation of anything & will even warn you not to come with that electronic nonsense next time lol (never known a country that prefers paper over electronic but trust naija not to make anything easy 4 themselves or anybody), be prepared to hear everybody just begging without shame instead of actually doing their work. While stamping my passport a robust cockroach walked out of the stamp...that was how they welcomed me to Nigeria. Then i got mad at d immigration guys bc none of them could catch n kill the cockroach, instead they were all laughing pursuing d roach but couldn't kill it & then they had d audacity to come & ask me to "bless them", be ready to be harassed by trolley boys while you are going to pick your baggage & then another set of immigration officials who will not check anything you carry but instead as soon as you are about to open your luggage for them to go through, they will tell you "never mind, just bless us". Outside the airport is another bunch of people waiting to harass you. I was exhausted by the time i got out... everything is stress in that place. This was in august when i went. Going again in nov & jan. Once you get to naija, you have to bring your naija sense n aggressiveness with you, you can't play nice!

I always like your videos and the information you share. They always make sense. My experience with MMIA in 2012 was awful both in and out because I didn't get to see such videos as you share before my travel. I wish I had.
I also learned don’t depend on one person’s answer even if they do work at the airport. Like if you are in line for something… ask 2-3 people to verify you are in the right line/area. Or if you are walking to a specific area in the airport ask 2-3 employees are you going in the right direction.
FYI: If you’re flying United Airlines from Lagos MMA to Dulles International direct, your carry-on luggage has no weight limit. What’s required is the size of the carry-on luggage (length and width). This information is on UA website. Do not allow anyone at lagos airport tell you otherwise. You might want to print it out, screenshot and take that information with you to the airport just in case anyone tries to tell you your hand or carry-on luggage is over weight and you should pay. An elderly man and his wife were almost reaped off. Thank God I was there to intervene and stop it. They were each asked to pay $250. Most of those people working at the airport and for the airlines have no conscience. The Palle and Malle were so thankful.
Thank you! Give me, give me was the trend and the fact that they think they are entitled to your cash is y nobody was getting anything from me. I was sick of every attempt to collect money from people.

I had a seamless exit with the usual "anything for the boys" at almost every point to which I would smile sheepishly and be moving to the next point. Immigration was nice as well. Came back through same airport and just walked through like it's my personal property........😀😀😀😀.......thanks to your tips as well. It was really hot in the airport on both occasions. My next trip out of the country, I went through Port Harcourt airport and flight got cancelled in Abuja. So I passed through immigration in both PHC and ABV and I can say the experience is nicer in those airports. LOS is too crowded obviously cos most airlines are there. By the way you haven't done a flight review in a while........I have missed those. Great content as always. Keep the good work up.

This was really interesting to watch. I'd like to know if transit visas are required for a connecting flight in Paris to UK using Air France. If it is required, please how can one go about the process?
Hi Sassy ,I want to visit a friend there but he lives in Asaba Delta State . My question is would I fly into Legos and then catch a connecting flight into Delta state? And I’m trying to find out the how do I get the connecting flight is it through the airline because I have been looking and i’m not understanding?? If you could help Thanks !!!!
When I was at Lagos airport heading back to the US, all the overhead monitors where I would normally look to locate my terminal and gate number were literally unplugged from the wall. No boarding times or directions were available to find where Air France were boarding the plane. So many people were saying “spend $50 to be comfortable in our lounges while you wait” but I didn’t want to do that. Finally after asking several workers where the gate was, I finally found it. But it was scary for a bit. In ALL other airports I have been in, finding your terminal and gate was as easy as following the proper overhead monitors. Not so at Lagos.
Sassy thank you for this, please I need you to do a Nigerian version of what we can carry on our hand luggage 🧳....like can I get lipgloss, liquid foundation etc my mini fan ??? Sprocket mini printers etc
I’m planning to visit Nigeria this January . And people say you need to travel with cash because every officer at Lagos airport is corrupt and always asking for money especially if you are a foreigner. Even if you have a visa they need money to even stamp you in . So many tourist said the same sentiments about the level of corruption at the airport and some discourage you from even going there on holiday . Is it really that bad ? Because my holiday in Lagos is already booked
My tip: if you got flight at night, come early, trust me In July I had British airways flight at 22:55 or 23:00 and I got to the gate E63 at about 22:30 meanwhile I left the house house at 18:00 instead of 16:00 or 17:00 and I don’t live far from airport.

As a nigerian with a foreign passaport do you need any procedure to travel back to Nigeria? Like do i have to be with a valid nigerian passaport too to show that i am a nigerian on arrival in Nigeria.

These tips make sense especially dress thoughtfully and don’t allow officials to intimidate you. I watched a young lady hand over $50 to officials cos they said she didn’t have a hotel booking in Dubai. I tried to tell her not to agree to pay but she was so scared of them as a first time traveller.
No, you don't. You are a Nigerian citizen by presenting your valid Nigerian passport so you can enter Nigeria with your valid Nigerian passport whenever you please.
I carried everything i wanted to eat in Nigeria with no problem. They are more interested in the works of your hands than the contents of your bag. Going through your bags is going to slow them down from getting bribes from the next person behind you.
I am flying from Chicago to Nigeria and the only option is a 20 minutes layover at Addis Ababa with Ethiopian Airline. Has anyone experienced a 20 minutes layover at Addis? Please share your experience?
expect some updated changes from the airline via email ..... and sometimes they don't follow their layover ...... just know it that you're not wasting any time at the airport..... you won't experience the outside ..... from your plane to inside the building through tunnel, next thing is boarding pass and back to another plane through another tunnel ..... i have experienced it before
I wish someone told to me I can get a free hotel room if my connecting flight would be in 14hrs. It was tab Portugal flight to NY. And in 14hrs. I stayed at the airport the entire time. I wish I had at least extra underwear. It was horrifying, and I was exhausted. This was 4yrs ago. Since then I've not been a fan of connecting and transiting flight. If the connecting flight is in about 3hrs then I'll take it. But if I'm going back home it'll definitely be a straight flight.
Have been to Rwanda three times from Ireland is a beautiful lovely country with a system of government what I mean by system is a country that is working for its citizens where you don’t have to bribe anyone before accessing any services, electricity and water 24/7 , good roads, now the most peaceful country in the world, Okada is the cheapest way to move around and it’s highly regulated with your helmet which is compulsory to put on, cooking foods is more cheaper from local markets, Rwanda have really developed is like Europe, many travellers from developed countries are relocating there for business and for works, they have a good police system institutions computerised data, Rwanda a country not as rich as Lagos state but far more developed than Nigeria while our people are been deceived at home by Emiloka and other politicians with empty lies and pipelines promises that will amount to nothing. Our people at home are not helping matters because they too enjoyed been deceived by politicians.
Where are you based? I'll create a video on how I applied for my daughters passport in the UK. The process starts here: portal.immigration.gov.ng/passport/epassport
You have to initially apply online with the link Sassy provided. From there you will then be invited to attend an appointment to verify identity and so on. It can take a long time so apply sooner rather than later. You pay the fee on the portal but the office you go to for the appointment, but be warned thet may try to extract another bribe from you to actually collect the passport.
Paris is a really good example. that Airport is just too big and complicated. an airport official made me enter the wrong train inside the airport thinking it was going to the particular terminal. strange experience anyways but Thank God i was able to find my way
I love your videos! However, I had terrible experiences arriving and leaving the airport. Will not fly to Lagos again until it functions like a real airport and gets rid of employees asking for money. If we don't boycott, it will never change.
SASSY THIS TIPS MAKE SENSE. NOW WHAT'S THAT NIGERIA WEBSITE THAT I AM SUPPOSE TO OFF LOAD MY COVID-19 TEST ? ONLY NIGERIA IS STILL DOING THAT. I AM COMING BACK NEXT MONTH,THERE IS A DEATH IN THE FAMILY.
The point about the connecting flight is really good. I almost missed my flight to Lagos a few years ago because I had a 1 hour layoff in CDG Paris. The first flight had some delays and I had less than 15 minutes to catch the connecting flight. It was my first time in CDG and its a pretty big airport. I was able to arrive about 5 minutes before my next flight thankfully 😅
If you don't need the trolly for your bags just say I dont have no money. They will drop you like a hot potato. Please watch your passport. My 1st time they were passing it around. Who I thought had it said he didn't, than "checked his pocket and had it". Scared sh*^less. Thought about getting suck

My first time at lagos Airport, if not by the God Grace i almost miss my flight, l came in for the check in 20 minutes earlier before the check in time but to my surprised the airline already finished the check in , Lord what can I do now likewise I said is Grace of God , the Airport workers around directed me to the airline manager, he shouted everything is done the table and office materials already gone but luckily i had only one bag that was my saving face. The manager didn't ask for anything but help me out. Then another yawa after check in two aboki came up to me and asked where I my going , i said to 🇺🇸 u.s they asked where l my working and i should show my i.d , showed the i.d . They left then i proceeded to board the plane , just fifteen minutes after i already cleared by the airline officials just about walking 🚶♂️ to the plane another sets of aboki came up to me again, this time around they are NDLEA that they need to search me i should come to the office and now the flight is taken off in the next 15 minutes , I said lord everything is in your care, get to the scan and the results was negative 💯 🙏 i knew am not into any dubious act , from that office i ran like carl Lewis to the plane entrance and nobody on line the airline officials said l my sure this is my flights and I told them my case with ndlea ,Thank God for his Mercy. if not

Sassy These Tips make Sense ooo 😂
I love your thumbnails 😂😂 so dramatic and captivating 😂
This makes me so happy. Been working so hard on them. Thank you ☺
This video make sense pa 👍 😘
Thank you!
These tips make sense especially dress thoughtfully and don’t allow officials to intimidate you. I watched a young lady hand over $50 to officials cos they said she didn’t have a hotel booking in Dubai. I tried to tell her not to agree to pay but she was so scared of them as a first time traveller.
If you have a valid Nigerian passport and you are traveling to Nigeria do you need a visa? Thank you for the upload
No, you don't. You are a Nigerian citizen by presenting your valid Nigerian passport so you can enter Nigeria with your valid Nigerian passport whenever you please.
@@berrytots8805 Thank you so much Berry
Pls I booked a flight from Ethiopian Airlines but my first flight is operated by ASKY Lagos to LOme pls where will I print my flight ticket
You can still use the Ethiopian airlines ticket, all the details we show on it

Please what are the raw food I can take from nigerian to canada and the food limit I can carry
Sassy theses tips make sense lol
Can you make a video about what foods we can bring from usa to Nigeria? This my first time going next month and I want to bring snacks lol
I went there 2 weeks ago from Atlanta, I brought granola bars, candy, instant coffee, crackers. Powdered creamer with me with no problems.
Please share your experience?
expect some updated changes from the airline via email ..... and sometimes they don't follow their layover ...... just know it that you're not wasting any time at the airport..... you won't experience the outside ..... from your plane to inside the building through tunnel, next thing is boarding pass and back to another plane through another tunnel ..... i have experienced it before
@@chinedualecs8939 Thank you, that gave me encouragement
The best is fly from Abuja.for some of your reason.
true talk
What about covid test problem coming in Nigeria
It makes sense...
Thank you for this wonderful information
You're welcome. Thank you for being a part of the family
they do make sense
What of if we are travelling to another Africa country like rwanda, do we also qualify for the PTA/BTA you talked about. And what is the requirement?
This is a great question. I will provide a more detailed video on the application but I believe the destination must be at least 5hrs away by air.

As unvaccinated British citizen, do I need PCR negative Test to re-enter London?
Uk stopped asking for anything for so many months now . No mask , no Covid certificate and no pcr . Just your passport and you go
Planning to travel later this year to Nigeria,How do I apply for Nigeria passport for my children in Nigeria
Where are you based? I'll create a video on how I applied for my daughters passport in the UK. The process starts here: portal.immigration.gov.ng/passport/epassport
Visit the immigration office nearest to you
You have to initially apply online with the link Sassy provided. From there you will then be invited to attend an appointment to verify identity and so on. It can take a long time so apply sooner rather than later. You pay the fee on the portal but the office you go to for the appointment, but be warned thet may try to extract another bribe from you to actually collect the passport.

Paris is a really good example. that Airport is just too big and complicated. an airport official made me enter the wrong train inside the airport thinking it was going to the particular terminal. strange experience anyways but Thank God i was able to find my way
I agree with you. That airport is complicated
Travelling back to Nigeria in November from UK.
I don't know what's the latest for unvaccinated.... @Sassy pls update or is all removed now?
Hi @ Ec Hanson, see ruclips.net/video/q9-c5j1KDg0/видео.html where Sassy updated the requirements.

It is insane to use 3 hours to be check in. What sort of process are they running?
Indeed insane
The crowd at the airport in Lagos is insane
@@truthmatterbyoladada1462 does it have the capacity of Heathrow? The waiting hours does not make sense. They can do better.
Extract bribe process 😂😂😂
I love your videos! However, I had terrible experiences arriving and leaving the airport.
Will not fly to Lagos again until it functions like a real airport and gets rid of employees asking for money. If we don't boycott, it will never change.
Sorry about your experience David. Indeed a lot needs to change

Would really like to know this too
I wish I would have known to dress comfortably 😕
The point about the connecting flight is really good. I almost missed my flight to Lagos a few years ago because I had a 1 hour layoff in CDG Paris.
The first flight had some delays and I had less than 15 minutes to catch the connecting flight.
It was my first time in CDG and its a pretty big airport. I was able to arrive about 5 minutes before my next flight thankfully 😅
The airport in Lagos is called Murtala Muhammad International Airport and not Lagos Airport. What’s wrong with you????
Please close mouth.... we know
If you don't need the trolly for your bags just say I dont have no money. They will drop you like a hot potato.
Please watch your passport. My 1st time they were passing it around. Who I thought had it said he didn't, than "checked his pocket and had it". Scared sh*^less. Thought about getting suck
hahaha
Hahahahahaha.
That's how they start the process of stealing your passport as has happened to some unfortunate travellers
@@ifeifesi it freaked me out. It was my 1st time, they didn't speak my language I barely understood them. But one thing for sure I was gonna keep asking. I knew enough to know I couldn't do nothing without it

They left then i proceeded to board the plane , just fifteen minutes after i already cleared by the airline officials just about walking 🚶♂️ to the plane another sets of aboki came up to me again, this time around they are NDLEA that they need to search me i should come to the office and now the flight is taken off in the next 15 minutes ,
I said lord everything is in your care, get to the scan and the results was negative 💯 🙏 i knew am not into any dubious act , from that office i ran like carl Lewis to the plane entrance and nobody on line the airline officials said l my sure this is my flights and I told them my case with ndlea ,Thank God for his Mercy. if not
