If this wont make the channel (as with my ((along with Randy Blythes)) favorite band Holy Fawn),viewers do youself a favor and listen for yourselves....dont get much better

Sonicaly and structurally this song and album still stands out as something super unique and alien. Definitely on another level from everything else deemed "Nu-metal" at the time. They really went above and beyond for this album. The bass is just a trip, but the drum tracks are something else too.
The repetition of certain parts of the song, in my opinion, is done to try and get inside the head of a disturbed person to some degree. It was meant to be uncomfortable and overstated I think.
L.D.50 is one of the grooviest metal albums I have heard. The bassist (Ryan Martinie) went onto another project called Soften the Glare. It really showcases his unique style of fingering and picking.

You guys are infectious, and Juds is fascinating. Mudvayne is my favorite thing that exists and this is the one song people should hear. Whoever recommended it, let’s be friends. The lyrics are dark for obvious reasons. And genius. Still one of my favs from the album with Severed being easily the best track.
I praise these musicians for even giving mudvayne a chance, such a powerful band with deep lyrics. That whole ld50 album is a masterpiece full of raw emotion.
If you want some lyrical depth that has more relevance today than any other track, I'd highly recommend the title track choices from Mudvaynes Lost and Found album. I don't understand why nobody on yt has reacted to such a masterpiece!?

I called it on the opening of this video. It sounded familiar and I called it on the chorus part. One of my favorite songs from the Melon Collie and The Infinite Sadness alblum
Don't think cuz a band is exploring what could make a man so sick, that in some way glorifies, vouches or, tries to justify it. Metal bands explore the extremities of human nature. Trying to think, "if I lived ed geins life would I have turned out like him?"... Just like slayer doesn't really worship Satan. I kinda think it's a bit near sighted to miss what these bands are saying.

I fully expected to leave this video wanting to listen to Mudvayne. I was not expecting to leave it wanting to listen to the Smashing Pumpkins but I recognized the song almost right away so this is where I am now.
Chad is one of the best lyricists. Read up on Gein and on what his mom did to him. The energy, the jumps into funky rhythm like the insanity of Gein, the emotions, the repeating of words…the raw emotion is enough, but on top of all that Chad perfectly makes connections to the little details about Gein’s messed up life. From Wikipedia- His mother frequently preached to her sons about the innate immorality of the world, the evil of drinking (Lyrics: life submissiveness hypnotizing the ignorant) and her belief that all women were naturally promiscuous and instruments of the devil. (Lyrics: Life of a simple man, taught that everyone else is dirty) She took advantage of the farm's isolation by turning away outsiders who could have influenced her sons. She punished Gein whenever he tried to make friends. (Lyrics: a little boys best friend is always his mother, at least that’s what she said) Don’t ever disrespect yourself like that again “the lyrics took away from the….” ….shhhh 🤫 You study that album
That isn’t a fretless bass. That is just the sound that you get from a Warwick thumb. It has a very distinct sound. Combine that with the way Ryan plays the bass it gives it the sound of fretless but isn’t actually fretless

Yes he finally got to hear some Mudvayne! This is not the funnest topic of a song but awesome none the less. Chad is a poet of the highest caliber. I like Smashing Pumpkin on piano better, because I don't have to hear his voice that way. The rest of the band is great though.

Mudvayne came into nu metal with the technicality and progressive elements. It's like Slipknot meets Tool. In a good way.
