My in-laws live in Sarasota (we are in Bradenton) and they got 5 feet of rain from the river behind their house. It got so bad they had to use a boat to get into their driveway. Thankfully their house is raised 6 feet so they were okay, but their neighbors were not so lucky. You never know with these storms! I work on AMI and we had very limited flooding.
Glad you all are safe. I parked my car next to the side of my house on Sunday afternoon rather than my usual spot in front of my house. And thank god I did or else it would of been underwater.
Just now watching your hurricane Debby experience. The storm is over us now. We were supposed to go to Hilton Head Island Thursday for the weekend to celebrate my husband turning 53. We spent all day yesterday at Magic Kingdom and it was awesome! Crowds were low and we got to do everything we want including riding Tiana’s for the very first time! We had a blast and now we can say we did Disney in a hurricane.
That rice dish looks yummy. Coconut oil, zucchini, bell peppers and sweet onion sautéed until tender then throw in some shredded rotisserie chicken (cause I hate cooking it lol) with Goya Achiote seasoning *chefs kiss* it pairs nicely with rice and I promise it's delicious!
The deep freezer is the size of the freezer they all freeze at the same temperature. Now you can get a Sub-Zero freezer but that's a specific type. The reason they say people's food will last longer in a deep freezer is because it's deeper and it holds more frozen food So if the power were to go out your food will stay frozen longer, but again they do make a Sub-Zero freezer which is a different type of freezer, but most freezers don't go below 0--5 degrees

I was actually moving to Florida and I drove through the hurricane Sunday and Monday! It was....less than ideal, but I just had a playlist of your videos running during the drive and that really helped the moral.
We were driving from Atlanta to Port Canaveral for our Wish cruise. Weather wasn’t too bad, but where we stayed on Merrit island had flooded roads. I’m glad you all are safe.

We call that Appetizer dinner. Just little tid bits of what is left. You may only get a bite or two but it will be tasty. Sometimes its way more fun because if you have something basic like roast chicken you can make 4-6 little appies with all leftovers or sauces in the fridge. My husband is not a leftover kinda guy, so I always have to make it up into something new.

I’m up in St. Augustine and we didn’t get much at all. A day of rain was about it. I do the same thing Jenn, I do all the laundry (including sheets) make sure all electronics and battery banks charged up and cook. I usually also make a pot of soup. This time it was potato soup. 😁
We got off the Disney Fantasy on Sunday...it is now Tuesday and we are STILL in Orlando! Our flights home keep getting canceled! Hopefully we can get home today!
We are down here for the week and got to go into SeaWorld and Disney springs while Debbie came through... Just rain really, But!!! We can check off "we visited a theme park during a Tropical storm" from our bingo card
Awe love that he loves the turtle that you got for his room theme as a baby! I had the same thing happen with my oldest. I bought a baby whinnie the Pooh bear while I was pregnant with her visiting Disneyland. I had to get it to match her nursery theme. Well then around 18 months she was extremely attached to him & that Pooh went anywhere she did for years. I was sad when she finally outgrew him 😭
We were visiting universal studios during this storm- the rain was insane… but it kept the crowds down!!! And since most of universal’s rides are indoor, they could keep on running! I think the only worrying thing was the tornado watch for the one night, as we stayed at cabana bay!

This was worse for us here on the west coast than the last 2 hurricanes! When you showed the 1st graphic with the 2 bands and Orlando in the middle, I am located in Lakewood Ranch, where that red rectangle was showing one of many tornado warnings for the day. Lucky here, but spent a few times in my bathroom waiting it out.
I think the difference with the deep freeze vs fridge freezer is that you are not in/out of the deep freezer on a regular basis. Both mine are at-3 degrees.
The difference in freezers is not the temperature it is the defrost. Any freezer that automatically defrosts will not keep food as long as one that does not. So my chest freezer aka deep freezer does not have a defrost function and therefore will not cause freezer burn or food to go off but the one in my fridge does.

Lightening struck and broke my friend's garage door in Clearwater. Then she suffered some water/floor damage with a bit of flooded parking lots. On the other side, Brevard got A LOT of thunder, a couple inches of rain, and it was pretty breezy. It was funny, we (Brevard) were one of the only counties that didn't have any Tropical Storm Warnings and we actually got a tornado up at the Cape and looks like it was a worse storm than Central Florida. xp Everything's good though.. on to the next letter of the alphabet!!
According to NOAA, Debbie ends here in Nova Scotia as a sub tropical storm Sunday Aug 11 into Monday 12. Depending on the amount of moisture she picks up, sub tropicals can cause major flooding. Fingers crossed Ol' Debs is light as feather as she heads North. Glad u guys were lightly impacted.
We got hit here in Savannah Georgia 🤦🏽♀️we have seen crocodiles and alligators and a lot of snakes . And all our screams are flooded heavily and it’s still rainy. Stay safe, my friends.❤❤❤

Omg, the tiny frog 😆 That brings back memories- One year at summer camp when I was a kid, my group had the cabins by the lake, and there were tiny frogs everywhere. I would go catch them and hold them in my hand. One time, I'd caught one on the way to the morning flag ceremony and held my cupped hand over my heart with the little frog against my chest as we said the Pledge of Allegiance. One of the counselors noticed and shook her head at me. 🤣
My good friends own two Tijuana Flats restaurants here in Fort Walton Beach and Pensacola and they’re staying open for business! They are independently owned and won’t be affected by the corporate bankruptcy. TF has closed many of their stores, but ours will remain open! 🌮🌯

It started raining here, Jacksonville Beach, on Sunday....it's still raining. We will probably get another 1-2 inches today.
Hurricanes often come up the east coast. Atlantic Canada mostly gets what remains, but sometimes we will get the burnt of the storm.
