Definitely have forms filled out before you go (especially with little ones, it will cut down time at office!) make sure forms are done in BLACK INK, if not you’ll have to redo them. Bring checks, or you can get the money orders at the post office. You may be able to see if the county or Twp/city clerks office does it as well and see if they have later hours if necessary for your convenience and you’ll be able to see if they need an appointment.
Being a frequent and long time Disney world visitor - with so many resorts added year after year there needs to be another park option or more then one or two big rides in each park to spread the visitors out.
I am DYING laughing 21:02 because we did our passports today and we had almost every challenge you did - but we got turned down by USPS because we didn’t have an appointment. We ran all over our dang town. So crazy! What a debacle!

I was just able to renew my passport online; took the photo at home on a white wall, and received my new passport in probably 2 to 3 weeks. Only cost 130$
We had a heck of time getting our kids passports too. I thought i had it all down one time and then i didint know the kids had to be with us if we had their pictures. Then I made an appointment at the post office but they moved our appointment and texted the wrong time, the worker wasnt happy we were "late" but finally got it done.
Disneyland needs a huge revamping of Tomorrowland, it would be awesome if they would bring back the peoplemover too. They need to make the parks and resorts affordable again too.

We just had our passports renewed. We had our photos taken at Staples too. We are renewing two years early. Just wanted to be sure we have them before the election. It took ours 3 weeks to get back to us. We also opted for the passport cards too. They are valid for land and sea entry from Canada, Mexico, Caribbean, and Bermuda, but not for international travel by air. We spent $320 for both of us. $160 each. The passports are so different from our old ones. Tons of new security features.

I’m anxious to hear what occurs at D23… I would love to hear of a nightime parade, I get what your saying Tim about MK being more crowded these days but it would be cool… as far as Ports for Disney Cruise Line… Philadelphia is now having Cruise Ships at port, so it would be very cool to have DCL in Philadelphia… there is also Cruise Ships that leave from Baltimore as well. So who knows, as I said Im anxious to hear about D23. Safe travels.
The Main Street Electrical Parade was more magical for my family than the fireworks. But I do remember seeing both. I don't remember the logistics of it all. But I remember the parade coming first and the fireworks coming quite sometime later.
Just FYI - just got my kids passports done and without expedited it was only 12 days from the time at the USPS to receiving their passports in the mail. Way faster than I thought it would be for sure.
We are diehard WDW fans, BUT the past few D23 events have been so underwhelming. So many things have been scrapped or just concepts. I’m very skeptical that we will get any good announcements. I agree that WDW needs to answer to Universals Epic. They are going to blow Disney out of the water. I’m saying this and I’m not a Universal fan but I’m super excited about Epic.

You could also check your local libraries to see if any of them do passports! I'm a librarian at my public library, and I am also a passport agent. There are a handful of other libraries in the area that also does passport services. Many people say it's a lot better than going to the post office.

I couldn't see any comments about this, but curious if you knew that one of the old Disney ships does half a year going from Australia to New Zealand for 2/3/4/5 night trips and that one of the newest ships is going to be based only from Singapore next year. Those become something my family are looking at trying finally
FYI, we are originally from Chicago but moved to Tampa in 2021. Chicago dogs are supposed to have poppy seed buns, but they don't sell them down here so my Mom looked up a recipe to coat the bun in egg wash, sprinkle with poppy seeds and bake for a few minutes to get them to stick. Just in case you ever want to be really authentic! I love that you native Floridians love Portillos! Also, Portillos also sells a Chicago dog fast pack that includes all your dogs and fixings through their catering that I highly recommend!

The Galveston port isn’t permanent and it’s not a Disney themed port like Orlando is. I live less than an hour from Galveston and there’s always been talks about Disney making it permanent location, especially since two of the cruise lines have moved to Houston chip channel instead of Galveston. So maybe they’ll announce officially permanently staying in Galveston all year around vs seasonally, I would love to see a as well as one of the larger ships coming to Texas for longer cruises.

I'd love to do a Disney Cruise but personally wouldn't travel all the way to FL for one, I'd rather do the parks if I'm coming down there and save the cruising for the ones that leave out of Cape Liberty and the like. ❤
My big prediction for D23 is about 5 minutes before the parks presentation. Universal either drop adverts for epic universe with the opening date or they release statement that universal Britian has been greenlit with full concept art.
So I once had to send my passport to a Consulate in Washington DC (I was in Florida at the time) to get a Visa (which took up an entire page in my passport) and since it was a work visa I had to go back and forth, back and forth (transcripts, letter from my employer, health certificate- lots of paperwork) all BEFORE sending my passport there and FINALLY once my Visa was approved, I get the call from the Consulate on my last day at my Temp Job (where I couldn't take the call) so they leave a message saying "Oh we'll send it priority mail and it will be there next Thursday"...except I had to be at orientation for the job in that country that Tuesday, this was on the prior Thursday and I was leaving that Sunday (didn't need a visa to enter that country *STILL NEEDED MY PASSPORT* but needed one to work there, so it would have been back to square 1). I frantically call them and as luck would have it, it was so early in the day that they hadn't mailed my passport back yet so after an extra overnight Fedex fee I got it by that Friday afternoon. Passport stuff is always stressful.
I got a passport for my newborn daughter in the US (as well as visa to Poland) without my husband’s signature on anything because he was not there at the time. But that was 1999 and maybe theyve changed the regs.
Yes, I used to run travel groups for kids and you have to have both parents. Sometimes that’s interesting if the parents don’t get along. I’m not talking about you and Tim.
passports for kids are confusing...i was able to fill out a form that only one parent would be there. FORM has to be signed by the parent not there then notarize the form then a picture of driver license. yes both parents being there is easier!

Best hot dog you will ever have in your life is at famous Gene and Jude’s. 2720 N River Rd River Grove, IL 60171 I live 15 min from there, it is 25-35 min from downtown Chicago in the safe suburbs. They have a cute Hawaiian themed tiki bar down the street from it as well.
I would love some sort of Disney park in Texas but I don’t see that happening. It would be an answer back to universal who is bringing a park to Frisco Texas.
So many rules regarding passports , read all the info carefully. The boys will only be good for 5 years not 10 like an adult. At least at our passport office you cannot pay with a credit card so be sure to bring a checkbook as well. Good luck!

They need to restore Tomorrowland to its glory days. It is now an abandoned mismatched wasteland!
Our public libraries also do full passport applications so if the post office is too busy or inconvenient, you might look into your local library

You can do your own pictures anymore and do everything online. And just send it in. Or there are specific post offices that will do it for you.

You can catch cruises from Chelsea’s Pier in Manhattan. I think either MSC or Royal leaves from there
