I had to come to the comments to make sure “how my wife left me” wasn’t some kind of lost media I haven’t heard of yet. Like some kind of free iPhone game or one of those single level games from those mid 90’s demo/shareware discs you could find in bargain bins or placed inside the case with the main game.

For some reason I really love the lost media that people regard as scary, like that Hitogata commercial and the ones that got found like the Nicktoons Zombified/Demon Lady one.
I really enjoy reading over people's memories about them about how it scared them.

I think Pato might not necessarily by anti piracy. It was very popular back then for cracking groups to include their own nfo texts, splash screens, music, whatever - especially for programmes that could come as part of a package. We had very famous groups here in the UK where the splash screens were a pair of evil eyes on a smokey ball like a Gengar, and another that had a splash of Darth maul during installation flipping off the screen that screamed "Now shut it!" When you booted up. Some of them cheekily reminded you to support the devs and buy if you enjoyed it.
This. I asked chatgpt and it said groups such as Pato Spittin Productions were crackers who used splash screens to show their work. I think it was most likely a torrent crack group.
I asked my mom about the encarnacion bechaves commercial, and she said she knew about the name because she saw it on a commercial break one time. and that it sounded familiar to her, she said she saw it on TV one time when she was a kid but she couldn’t really remember what she saw since it was a long time ago

17:50 I grew up in those days and though it never directly happened to me, I still have legit real nightmares about this stuff happening to my computer as an adult. It really gives me the creeps. YouAreAnIdiot and other things that would hi-jack your desktop and remove control until you unplugged it from the wall still creep me out to this day!
Never really happened with pirated software but one time I was freaked out when I was trying to watch anime online with one of those dodgy anime piracy websites. I got a popup with a red screen and text that said 'Warning, if you close this browser your hard drive will be deleted' being read out by a text-to-speech program. I immediately shut off the PC and never used the website again

"Pato" means duck in Spanish and Portuguese, so it's possible that the anti-piracy webpage came from South America. It's also possible that it wasn't written "Pato was here", but something like "Pat was here", "Pat O. was here" or something like that.
yeah, it does mean duck, its maybe some south american group aswell, since we tend to have strange names here in brazil
Pato also is used atleast in Chile as an abbreviative for Patricio (Aka Patrick), so the guy could be called Patricio
At least in México. "Pato" is a really common nickname to have. You will find alot of graffiti tags on the street, internet users, celebrities and such named like that.

When I was a kid there was this commercial that was so creepy, my skin crawls thinking about it now, and what makes it worse is I'm pretty sure it was unintentionally creepy.
The commercial was a dark room, it was being panned to the right. The room might have been a livingroom, it was night time, the living room was being panned slowly as some lady commentated. I remember on a table in the room there was a portrait of a woman, who for some reason looked like she had thick bones growing out of her nose? Idk what the commercial was about but I never saw it again. This commercial was early 90s.

I assure you, there's loads of disturbing af commercials from the Philippines especially PSAs from the '90s. (Caritas Manila especially).
They don't show stuff like these on normal TV anymore nowdays and everything is much more conservative and safe.
The last one is my cup of tea. Lost media AND PIRACY SCREENS??? A 2 in 1 package! It seems impossible to find unless you go around looking at pirated DvDs. At the very least someone could make a recreation with the "Pato was here" screen by searching for the TTS voice. Usually these voices would have names such as Microsoft Sam. But since it's on the Mac, I'm speculating that one of the voices in it could've been used. There are some pretty creepy TTS voices on there such as the whispering voice.

Yo, OP here, it definitely wasn't the whispering voice lmao. I distinctly remember it being the default male tts voice from whatever version of OSX that was.

I remember seeing a swedish gore video where some metalheads heavily mutilated themselves. It was recorded in the 90s and Drabbad from the Band Ofdrykkja was apparently in it. It attained meme-status in Våsteras because while they we're essentially splitting their arm in half were saying stuff like "Lets call some Girls". I know there were screenings of this VHS in some Metal places Like record stores and I remember somone with an English nickname being in the Video, I think it was John or Jim or something and apparently this guy was notorious for almost killing himself during a Mayhem show back in the days. Anyone else have some information on this? I think it was labelles as "Film of scars" or "Scarfilm" or something amongst bootleggers back in the day

Order es all the volumes but a short version is available online by googling. Apparently it was called ,The carving film' (Skärfilmen). And another memequote was "Your mum smells Like curry" in swedish

Mentioned this on another channel, but where can you go to look for fan based media? There was a fan series made back in the days of Geocities based on the Halloween franchise that pretty much vanished. It's definitely something that needs to be remembered for how ambitious it was.

@this channel is a joke It was called Halloween the Series and it was done to bridge the 5 year gap between Halloween 5 and Halloween 6. If I remember right, it was I think Tommy looking for Jamie along with a group of others and it slowly unraveling the Thorn curse seen in Halloween 6. There was one "episode" where a bunker was found full of aborted fetuses that were basically inhuman experiments to create superhuman assassins from Michael's DNA. One "episode" even had werewolf soldiers. It's been many, many years but those did stand out even almost 20 years later.
@thischannelisajoke6810 Addition on top of my original response: I did find the name of the guy who created the series (or at least started it.) Derek Andrew Sharp. That's as far as I got and even then I still couldn't find the scripts. But a few websites do briefly mention Halloween the Series.
Some lost media I'd like to see again
Was a strange 3D game like wolfenstine or doom it was first person perspective
This game was on new grounds in the early 2000s either 2005 to 2008 it could be older but it was pretty mind blowing to find a flash game that played in 3D like that so that was its biggest appeal for me making it stand out from every other 2D flash game
The graphics of the game were simplistic like wolfenstine probably more flat with its colours and was vibrant
The game details I remember the most were having a grey gun barrel in the center of the screen it looked like a traced model of the plasma gun from doom solid black outline and solid grey no details to the texture
The second thing I remember was monk like figures in brown robes with black voids where the head would be
I would like to see this game again and play it because I never figured out how to play it or what to do or what the story even was if it had one I remember when we first got our computer it was probably around 2003 a huge crt cream thing we updated to a lcd at some point
Might want to check out Blood. It's a 90's FPS where there are plenty of robed cultists. Sounds like that flash game mightve been based on it
I remember about that time frame a flash game, I don't remember ever getting past the first level (or if it even had levels) just wondering about. I think it was called "Art Attack".

11:45 I actually saw that a few months ago, they mentioned it on the Lost Media subreddit. Kinda a weird choice to make a game but I guess they had confidence that the movie was going to sell well.
Encarnacion Bechaves Florist was still open, their branch in UN Avenue, a few blocks across UP-Philippine General Hospital. That was the only surviving branch with that name in Google Maps. The reviews were expected, about the commercial.
Aside PGH, the closest place near Encarnacion Bechaves was Supreme Court of the Philippines and National Bureau of Investigation
I think that the most mysterious piece of lost media is the unreleased material by Autechre. their discography was mostly made up of albums that they made for themselves.
11:06 it wasn't him that deleted it haha. As I understand it, the original hard drives containing the film's progress were taken by an employee (as well as various PC equipment) over what was either collateral due to a payment dispute or disgruntlement after being fired (?)
I heard that it was recently found that they were intentionally deleted. Also according to people who worked on it it was practically impossible for someone to actually steal the hard drives without getting caught because they were so heavily secured, so it had to have been the director

There was also this 1980s faith-based film starring the late Filipino child actress Julie Vega about a Marian apparition in Cavite entitled _Milagro sa Porta Vaga._ No copy of the film has surfaced so far despite efforts from a local confraternity dedicated to commemorating the Marian icon of Porta Vaga.

Julie Vega was a child actress who got 'cursed' [not really, but her death is tragic], so any movie with her should be properly archived at this point...
Seriously tho, there's a literal mini showbiz snippet of her life and death on YT, her funeral had a large crowd and really beloved on her time but still lost some movies I guess.

The anti-piracy sounds familiar. I use to torrent a lot back in the day, but for some reason that sticks in my brain for some reason. If somehow I can get my old MacBook to work, I'll have to see if I have any left over torrents on there

The weirdest thing, for me anyway, about the Pato thing is that you CAN"T steal Shareware. It's literally free software that you're SUPPOSED to SHARE (hence the name) with other people. Usually it was demos of popular games like the OG Doom or Wolfenstein. I remember going to computer expos with my dad and brother when I was a kid and picking up a bunch of shareware titles.
I know it's a minor detail to pick at, but that was just my first thought.

My grandmother used to watch WWE back then here in the Philippines (WWE back then was titled WWF or World Wrestling Federation) and she said that "the Encarnacion Bechaves commercial was on of the commercial during the commercial break of WWE back then in the Philippines"

DVD authoring/ripping, early 2000s, Mac OS X...
Since this guy was torrenting, I won't discard the possibility of him running Bootcamp as well and downloading a Windows program.
Back then, the most popular program/suite for DVD authoring/ripping was Nero. And it was shareware. Maybe he downloaded the entire Nero suite or one of it's programs and it had this little anti-piracy measure.
Or, as someone else in the comments said, it was a cracktro.
When I was a kid in the 2000s, there was a PSA commercial that played on TV. I'm not sure if it aired nationwide in the US or just in the Pacific Northwest area (Washington, Oregon, and California) but I do remember it playing on various channels including Cartoon Network. I think the year was 2007 or 2008? Nothing graphic was shown but I still remember it scaring me.
It started with a girl against a grey background, (most likely a room) talking about her friend. It showed pictures of her friend on the screen while she described her personality and how she always snorted when she laughed. The camera then cut back to the girl crying for a few seconds while she explains that her friend was killed in a crash. I don't remember if the crash was related to drunk driving or texting and driving, both types of PSAs were very popular at the time. The pictures this time was the aftermath of the crash, showing one of the cars. I don't remember the rest of it but I'm assuming the PSA ended there.
I tried posting on Reddit a couple times but I either get no response or comments linking me to long compilation videos aren't even close to what I'm describing. I might post in the Lost Media Wiki forums next but has anyone else seen this PSA?
that sounds familiar to me, but the one i'm thinking of was aired around 2011 or a few years after that. as you said those types were popular so that makes it harder to pin down.
Lost media is almost always uh dissapointing.

Totally agree- and the fact that the earliest comments found about it describe it as annoying rather than creepy. Most likely it was warped in peoples minds over time. That being said- I'd love to see it.
i've never been disappointed by a find, my reaction is always "huh. cool they found it". but thats probably because i'm not a psycho that builds up how incredible something is when we can't even watch it.

Another mystery game from Take-Two Interactive's catalog that vanished after Global Star Software's Foodfight! game was Rockstar Games' Agent. (10:30)
There was a Foodfight GAME that was being made? Seriously, the production of that movie is such a rabbit hole to go down that I keep learning new things every time I hear about it, like they wanted it to be more than it ended up being.
I had no idea that there was a terrible animated movie called Foodfight, which was delayed by 9 years to be critically slammed. Probably because the script may not have changed during the delay but it’s interesting it managed to get some big names involved. I didn’t know about the lost video game either, which had a demo booth at E3 2006 and I hope that some footage from this demo can be found soon, to see whether or not we missed something great or dodged a bullet. That spooky Anti-Piracy lost media thing is also mysterious in itself, with the cryptic way it was sharing the message. I do not remember it, as I never owned or used a computer in the early 2000’s. Though I was using a computer and the internet from 2009 onwards but it wasn’t my own. Also, I didn’t pirate or torrent stuff until it became much more accessible and easier to do it. It’s interesting that they used to do stuff like this to stop piracy and it’s a shame they stopped doing this. Hopefully that anti-piracy thing can also be found. Along with the creepy Philippines flower shop commercial, to see how spooky it actually was.

When I was young in the UK (late 90s/2000s) there were these intermediate shows (like an introduction for the next show, as far as I remember) that was just a blue background with a superimposed floating head, a ginger woman I believe, talking in an altered voice. It may have been CGI now that I think about it. It scared the absolute sh*t out of me and my brother when we were kids and I’ve never been able to find it. It must’ve been on the BBC, ITV or channel 4 because those were the only channels we had. Drives me nuts I wanna see if it was actually scary or I was just young 😂

I'm still looking for a creepy commercial. I saw it twice in the late 80's or early 90's. Had some stuffed animals running from the cops in an alleyway. I think the stuffed plushies were supposed to be cops and robbers. What I remember about it was the music. The music, for some reason, really bothered me. It just hit a really freaky note. Don't know if the stuffed animals were the product or not, but they featured in it.
This series is so amazing, very interesting stuff!
There was another version of bechavez commercial that focused on a lavender flower that's what I'm looking for. I knew I already seen it but now I can't find it.

This is a few people talking about a commercial, and asking if anyone has it. So, this is NOT RESEARCH. Google is not research. Collect some funds, fly someone over to the Philippines, find the advertising firm, and talk to them about getting a copy. "But we can't do that? Physically go and talk to people? I'll just hide here and type google." Pathetic. Obviously no one actually cares about this. It's just putses with nothing better to do.
Yeah, I feel like these searches would all have results or at least continue with more information being discovered (like with the foodfight game) if people just dug a little deeper and reached out to whoever was involved in making the media, even if it’s just an email.

Does anyone else get a weird vibe that the Encarnacion Bechaves commercial is some kind of meme? Like it never actually existed and the people posting about it were just making a joke/trolling? The way that it went from something said to be "annoying" to something that was almost Creepy Pasta-esque just feels weird to me. The video of the two guys talking about it also seems weird, like they were just randomly filming, came across a song, and started talking about it? It all kinda feels like it was a joke/meme in some community way back and it never really translated outside of that demographic.
