It is true that Jobs was not a programmer or engineer, two among many fields of which genius is commonly associated, although a person need not be proficient in the sciences to be considered a genius. According to the New Oxford American Dictionary, genius is defined as “[A person with] exceptional intellectual or creative power or other natural ability”. Steve Jobs clearly fits this definition in regards to the “creative power or other natural ability” bit. While his lack of technical and scientific/mathematical skill is at odds with his position as one of the pioneers of modern computing, this is not a sufficient reason to deny him the label of genius. Jobs was an expert at marketing, and while one does not commonly associate marketing with genius, if we refer to the definition of genius above, this clearly fits under the “other natural ability” bit. Jobs also found success by focusing extensively on the visual aspects of his products, as well as paying great attention to user experience. His commitment to designing visually appealing products as well as enhancing and improving the user experience set him apart from his contemporaries such as Bill Gates, and many of his designs found instant and lasting success. Many would logically refer to Jobs’ innate ability to predict which designs would be successful as well as his charismatic marketing abilities as his genius. To those claiming that he wasn’t a genius, I urge you to refer again to the definition of genius which I have provided above. Steve Jobs unambiguously fits the definition of genius, as he was indeed a person with “exceptional ... creative power or other natural ability.” Having said that, one cannot be blamed for denying that Jobs was a genius, as the layman generally defines a genius as a person with exceptional scientific and mathematical skill, due to the media’s use of the word genius almost exclusively reserved for scientists who have made major contributions to the world. Many would argue that Jobs simply got lucky with Apple, and/or that he merely took credit for the designs of others. To them, I would say that while many of the designs and technology that are commonly attributed to him are indeed based on the work of others, it is unfair to say that he gained success through taking credit for the work of others. Therein lies another facet of the genius of Steve Jobs: the ability and willingness to bring in people with a good idea and assign the right people to the task of fleshing it out, as well as his incredible ability to predict the potential of a product. He took huge risks by putting large amounts of money into developing new products, and succeeded more often than not. Taking counsel and marketing products conceived by others hardly constitutes stealing credit. To my knowledge, Jobs never blatantly claimed for himself the credit of others’ ideas, and I welcome examples of such behavior. Let us not also forget that Jobs was the founder and executive of Apple, which does entitle him to have a say in the products released by Apple; in fact, he has added his own influence on practically every product sold by Apple. Consider also the fact that the people involved in sparking ideas and working on products have been generously compensated for their work. Again, I claim this to be evidence of his genius. My point is, you may not like Steve Jobs or Apple for whatever reason, but give credit where it’s due. FIGHTFANNERD9.I'm Gay for Moonbin Eugenics is not considered scientific anymore. It may have been seen as something brilliant during Tesla’s time, but actual genetic science has provided better, non-dogmatic answers for things that Eugenics attempted to explain. So, I don’t see how supporting something that’s outdated and has little to no basis in reality would make someone a realist in our era.
Youssef Houaoui It doesn’t take a scientist recognize the dogmatic and highly subjective nature of Eugenics. Oh, but because every scientist worth their salt doesn’t validate something that you want to believe in, that means there’s conspiracy involving an all-powerful organization made up of X demographic trying to keep everyone else under control by keeping them from the truth, right? That’s basically what you were getting at weren’t you? I dare you to find a reputable study supporting your argument which has been peer reviewed and stood up to scrutiny. You probably won’t want to admit this to yourself or anybody else since it doesn’t fit your narrative, but you might find out that what you say is some sort of oppression by the establishment is really just the scientific process working as it should.
Youssef Houaoui So you’ve basically admitted that you have no solid proof for your claims. Glad to see you’re falling on the Globalist conspiracy argument just as expected. That and citing a controversial incident in place of scientific research. 😏 Remember everyone who reads this thread, if anyone tells you that there is no evidence that your ideas are based in reality, that just means that they’re the “elite” trying to prevent your “alternative” ideas from catching on and keep you in your place. So, that means the Earth really is a flat disk at the center of our galaxy, homeopathy is the best cure for your ailments, and your own ethnicity makes you the specialist (most “genetically superior”) snowflake of them all. 😂 Now, in case you start giving the usual spiel about how I’m a close-minded sheep, I wanna let you know that you shouldn’t expect anymore responses from me.

Some of these "terrible people" simply had petty flaws. Newton held grudges, and Tesla held politically incorrect views that can be strawmanned with a comparison to Hitler's views. What about the real terrible geniuses. Pythagoras was a batshit-insane cult leader who declared himself a god. Genghis Khan, Alexander the Great, and Hitler could all be considered considered geniuses intellectually (Stalin might have also qualified.) Yet they were some of the worst mass murderers ever. Instead this video was limited to scientists and businessmen with petty human flaws.
Newton was a really weird person(he was into alchemy) during his time and he did hold grudges severly against people, as they mention in the video hook came up with calculus first and then newton heard about it after working on something similar he decided to tarnish him completly. So Newton was a world class arsehole.

Ahhh I believe Einstein was a very smart guy who definitely had a sense of humor. I don't think that list of demands was meant to be taken seriously. Rather he wanted a divorce and decided to give his current wife an offer she could not accept.
There's not a single shred of evidence that Einstein took credit for anything his first wife did. She couldn't have written the theory of relativity because she flunked her exams at the end of her terms; Einstein would skip his physics classes out of sheer boredom, and the professors would consequently call him a goof off. Sure, his fidelity towards his first wife was practically nonexistent, though he loved his children. But his work was his own. Disliked for even suggesting such nonsense.
I support tesla‘s statements completely. I hate racism and that type of eugenic politics but I think criminals and dumb people or people with horrible life habits and surroundings shouldn’t reproduce
Einstein being an ass with his soon to be divorced wife doesn't make him a terrible person. He actually had many rare personal qualities for a scientist.

These people might not have been pleasant to be around, most thinkers aren't, for they challenge their peers on more than an intellectual level, they challenge them on their social level, which makes everyone feel uncomfortable, and hence are often socially outcast as the person with the problem. Disagreeing with you on eugenics doesn't make someone a "horrible person". I agree with Tesla's proposed measures, but not with his motivation. Evolution doesn't make people better or happier. But we can make ourselves better and happier.

My experience of having worked with people having a high mathematical intelligence is that they are extremely competitive, scoff at anyone who can't understand them and will do whatever they can to maintain their power.
I generally just want to get on with and collaborate with people but that is then turned on me and I am accused of being dumb.
according to The Simpsons, one of the geniuses, Steve Hawking actually stated that even the smartest are very childish

A genius would never hand his wife a list of rules she had to obide by. I would be afraid to fall asleep around her. Or drink her tea.
I admit it, I never liked Steve Jobs
It's been some years back, but Steve Jobs was promoting something Apple. He came across as a self-centered, manipulative, arrogant ass wipe. And that was only 5 minutes into the interview.
Don't forget Carl Friedrich Gauss, arguably the greatest mathematicians in history. When Gauss' students showed him their discoveries, he would crush their enthusiasm by boasting that he had done it all before. He also refused to collaborate with other mathematicians because he didn't want to waste his time with people who weren't as smart as he was (basically everybody), and was described as a nasty, cantankerous man.

liking eugenics doesn't make you a bad guy it makes you a realist
Grunge will say stupid things from time to time
FIGHTFANNERD9.I'm Gay for Moonbin Eugenics is not considered scientific anymore.
Remember everyone who reads this thread, if anyone tells you that there is no evidence that your ideas are based in reality, that just means that they’re the “elite” trying to prevent your “alternative” ideas from catching on and keep you in your place. So, that means the Earth really is a flat disk at the center of our galaxy, homeopathy is the best cure for your ailments, and your own ethnicity makes you the specialist (most “genetically superior”) snowflake of them all. 😂
Now, in case you start giving the usual spiel about how I’m a close-minded sheep, I wanna let you know that you shouldn’t expect anymore responses from me.
Not to mention Einstein almost tried to defame some famous scientists
wtf? Nicola Tesla was 100% correct
so you're saying we should "purge" people with down's?
Giordan Diodato The problems with that theory is it can’t work in many ways.. first how should we hold control over who is fuck who and second how do we know it’s absolutely know that just because the parents is brilliant the kids gonna be brilliant.. there can happen many things between.. maybe the child comes in a horrible shape or got a handicap there is a giant problem and then those who is not brilliant parents get a normal or even a autistic child who is alright.. and three.. can we please stop the idiot hating.. who is not saying YOU are the idiot or maybe those who maybe not smart but hard working nice people or maybe not arrogant.. and yes being a giant idiot or asshole those makes those people arrogant we get it but I so tried of all those hate on children, men , women, people of any kind of skin color or gender , sexuality young and old and so on .. I hope if we got to have smart people they can fix that problem call a giant asshole.. or something like that..

"Newton discovered gravity"
right..
no one noticed that apples and other objects can fall down, previously.
Oh boy .
He discovered the reason things fall down !
He discovered *why* things fall down.
he is the reason we can MATHEMATICALLY prove that gravity indeed exists, he did not discover the concept that things fall down, he discovered the of WHY things fall down, big difference. Most children can see that they bleed when they cut their knee, does that mean they discovered how veins work?
Prolly another FE trying to discredit Newton. Lol
They were not terrible people. They were simply not giving a fuck about someone's „Offended Feelings" and that's why they succeeded in life.
So Albert Einstein wasn't in love with his first wife and gave her a list of demands he KNEW she'd not agree to in order to get out of the marriage? Genius!
@Karen Reed Yes that's how it goes unfortunately. I know what it's like dealing with people with bipolar disorder and it can be very trying.
Darrylizer Einstein worked in a German patent office. He came to America as a pacifist but in fact stayed communist. He took credit for the nuclear bomb. What an arse wipe he was.
@@sparx180 It was his theories that made the bomb possible. Without Einstein no bomb. He was the one who encouraged FDR to begin the Manhattan project. He was both indirectly and directly responsible for the US atomic bomb project and the existence of the bomb itself. Einstein also was no communist, he was a socialist and loved the United States because of it's lack of a class system or one that was not as pronounced as that in Europe. He saw the class system as an impediment to creativity.

you guys represent steve jobs as a genius for what ? A master of knowing what people want ? Steve Wozniak is the real genius.
That is why i have fictional characters as ideals.
THANK YOU 🙏 SOMEONE WHO GETS IT!
Man same here
Geniuses are people too and not angels. They make mistakes and create problems but their contributions to mankind far outweigh all the nitty gritty defects possessed. And this is more important than anything’s else.
If you wanna find nice people you can find them very often among the poor...!
sometimes, though the poor can be just as guilty of theft and murder, look at most people in prison. i don't think any group or type of person or people is good, i think individuals are
Here is an example of a site that makes people more stupid, the more they watch, i.e. thinking that they understand something they have no comprehension of. Total ignorance is much more intelligent that knowing only 5% of what you think you know.
Steve Jobs wasn't a genius. He made a phone.
Remember, just because a genius has an idea doesn't mean it's a genius idea
“Nikola Tesla was an Eugenicist” not surprising at all, since Serbians and Croatians are OBSESSED with perfectionism.
America had a eugenics program involving sterilization from the 1890s to the 1970s.
Nah it’s called planned parenthood
Are you referring to the Tuskegee Experiment?

Eugenics is actually a good thing. It's controversial, but it's about bettering the human race
What about thomas Alva Edison he took credit for other's work
He wasn't a genius
It’s so sad that when we are younger we learn about these people as good and inspiring people but when u grow up and find it out the truth
Ahhh I believe Einstein was a very smart guy who definitely had a sense of humor. I don't think that list of demands was meant to be taken seriously. Rather he wanted a divorce and decided to give his current wife an offer she could not accept.
weird and cruel way of going about it if true, but i suppose we'll never know the truth now
There's not a single shred of evidence that Einstein took credit for anything his first wife did.
Disliked this video because y'all called Steve Jobs a GENIUS!! are you serious!!!!!
For those people who worship Tesla like a god...I am pretty sure they dont even know what Eugenics means.

I support tesla‘s statements completely. I hate racism and that type of eugenic politics but I think criminals and dumb people or people with horrible life habits and surroundings shouldn’t reproduce

You’re a fascist.
This one is not a smartie, but I feel it is important to make sure everyone understands that Margaret Sanger was a racist, and believed in eugenics. Her clinics were all about controlling the breeding of blacks and others she considered undesirable. When she said "planned parenthood", she meant parenthood that fitted into her plans. Don't believe me? Read her own words by following the link below. She is not a person to be admired or venerated. So while they castigate Nicola Tesla, let's not forget about good old Margaret who actually put her plans into action.

Steve jobs IQ is actually 86, look it up
Steve Jobs likely had an IQ roughly 160 or above. In Walter Isaacson's biography, near the end of 4th grade Jobs was tested. Jobs said: 'I scored at the high school sophomore level.' This means he was a 4th grader performing at the 10th grade level.
