Hi Nolyns Kitchen viewers! Make my Dutch Boterkoek and tell me what you think in the comments below 👇! You can find the recipe in the video description!
I tried your recipie. It turned out beautifully. I could see it being a very traditional recipie. The primal body craves the fats and carbohydrates, and that is all this recipie is.
From Holland, no need to rest the dough, do not preheat your oven just put it in a cold oven in the middle on 175 degrees Celsius for 30-35 min. My mother´s recipe, the best. Oh, no egg stuff on top either.
@@NolynsKitchen Wow! Thanks so much for the prompt response -- I was just about to put away the ingredients thinking that I'd probably have to wait at least a day to get an answer :D
Hey Bhekti, thanks for your comment! How was your end result of the Dutch Boterkoek? As you mention I think there went two things ''wrong''. First of all the butter you use at the beginning needs to be at fridge temperature not room temperature. The butter needs to be ''hard''. The second thing is when you get the dough, it needs to be 1 hour in the fridge. Did you do both things i mentioned above? Hope I can help you with making the perfect Dutch Buterkoek!
FInally someone who does things properly (even if you didn't mention adding the crucial pinch of salt with the sugar). I see way too many videos that mix in a damn egg. Boterkoek is not a cake.

@@NolynsKitchen it was good. Mine was a bit floury in flavor, but I may have undercooked it a little.
Could you please tell us the size of the baking tin you used? Dank u wel. ☺

Just wanted to clarify, is this self-raising flour, or just regular all-purpose? Asking since you didn't use any baking powder
It's regular all purpose flour!

No need An egg for the dough?
No😁! only for the last step to spread it on top!
I have try your recipe,, but when I start baking the batter become like water, I think because the butter melts..

True story! Thanks for your nice comment!
Ummm am I missing something? Where is the Vanilla and Almond extract?
Thanks for your comment. This is the Typical Dutch Boterkoek. You don't use the vanilla and almond extract. But nice feedback to try someday!
Honestly, do we have to watch you take the wrapping off the butter????
It was one of the first videos we made 2 years ago, the quality is improved over time! Thanks for the feedback! Hope you like the end result
@@NolynsKitchen I didn’t mean to be harsh and yes, I’m going to make this! Thank you.
@@kathlynterry8196 Thats ok honesty is important! I have the same when i look back at my old videos. Thats why i tried to improve with every upload!
