What are the benefits of diet and exercise in pregnancy?

  • The International Weight Management In Pregnancy, (iWIP) collaborative group was established in 2013 and is comprised of clinicians, statisticians, trial managers, PPI members, and more. The iWIP research group is headed by Prof. Shakila Thangaratinam, Professor of maternal and perinatal health at the WHO Collaborating Centre at the University of Birmingham. Researchers from all around the globe including Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, Egypt, Finland, Ireland, Iran, Italy, Norway, Spain, Netherlands, UK (Birmingham), USA contribute to iWIP. The group is funded by NIHR (UK national funder) and studies the role of diet and physical activity in pregnancy.
