    Favourite movie is "Mary Poppins" . The chalk drawings that "Bert" does in the film has always been enjoyable to me. It was the first film I ever saw a the cinema back in the 60"s.

    Thanks for all the info. Love your movie references. I like the really old b&w movies. A real favorite is Midnight with John Barrymore, Claudette Colbert and Don Ameche; also Grand Hotel with the Barrymore brothers and Greta Garbo. Classics!

      Thanks Jodi. You have just added two more movies for me to watch 😁 as I haven't seen these. Love the lighting they use in b&w movies. I'm no John Barrymore, but thanks for watching anyway. 😆

    Excellent. Love the info and love your attitude and sense of humor !!! I particularly love colors.... lots and lots of pretty colors... LOL. I own far too many tubes of watercolor paints, but I love them all. I'm curious about your grouping Viridian and Phthalo Green as possible alternates. I think of Viridian as being a "soft" color and Phthalo Green as being a "loud" color. I have both on my palette. Suggestion for a future video: discuss the transparent/semi-transparent colors vs the opque/semi-opaque colors (like the Cads). I tend towards a palette full of transparent and semi-transparent colors with just a Cad Red and Cad Yellow for opaques. However, in many of the painting DVDs that I own, many of the "traditional" watercolorists.... like John Yardley have quite a few opaque colors. Thoughts?

    • @charles-sluga
      @charles-sluga  5 лет назад +2

      Thanks Susan for the comments and for watching my video. Yes Viridian and Pthalo Green, though not the same, will do the same job mixing. It also depends on the brands that you have. Pthalo is loud, but Viridian I think is alos loud (but maybe not so much). If having both in your palette works for you, then I suggest keep on doing it, otherwise see how you go with just the louder of the two. The transparent/opaque question is interesting and I do intend mentioning that in a future video. Oh and yes, I love colours too :)

    Another great vid Charles. I love your movie inserts (something I would do) 😄 so I get it. So true regarding different shades of same colour across the different brands some colours I love WN some I love DS version, I guess comes down to that personal preference. Funny when I thought of my fav movie Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence (with David Bowie) and then the 70s Ned Kelly movie starring Mic Jagger came to mind... oh and then the classic movie ‘Trog’ starring Joan Crawford. 😄 Again some great experiential advice. Thank you.

    • @charles-sluga
      @charles-sluga  5 лет назад +1

      Thanks Craig. Yes it does come down to personal preferences regarding the choice of colours in different brands. Tough to narrow favourite movies down to one or two isn't it? I should have said top ten 😁🤔

    interesting, that for some reason, I couln't answer the question of my favorite film immediately. the whole pandemic stuff, it did take it's toll on me. I hadn't noticed :-). But I do have a suggestion still. why not use clips of Amadeus. It is very theatrical 😉

    • @charles-sluga
      @charles-sluga  2 года назад +1
