There's a little mountain church in my thoughts of yesterday / Where friends and family gathered for the Lord Where an ol' fashioned preacher taught the straight and narrow way / For what few coins the congregation could afford Dressed in all our Sunday best, we sat on pews of solid oak / And I remember how our voices filled the air How Mama sounded like an angel on those high soprano notes / And "When the Roll is Called Up Yonder I'll Be There" Looking back now that little mountain church house / Has become my life's cornerstone It was there in that little mountain church house / I first heard the words I based my life upon At the all day Sunday singing, with dinner on the ground / Many were the souls that were revived While the brothers and the sisters who've gone on to Gloryland / Slept in peace in the maple grove nearby Looking back now that little mountain church house / Has become my life's cornerstone It was there in that little mountain church house / I first heard the words I based my life upon Looking back now that little mountain church house / Has become my life's cornerstone It was there in that little mountain church house / I first heard the words I've based my life upon

I have 1 Martin acoustic, 2 Fender Jazzmaster's, 1 being a 1960, I purchased in 1964, the other a MM Special edition, a hollow body Epiphone, and my favorite a Gibson Les Paul, sounds like a harp from Heaven, plays like a dream, it just fits, and of course Made in America !
New country is not country... I like the old country and old bluegrass. Bluegrass gospel and southern gospel is awesome. In march I am going back to Branson to Praisefest. Four gospel music shows in three days.. Can't wait.
Thank God for those old fashioned churches! Men like Dr. Percy Ray, Dr. Harold Sightler, Bro. Maze Jackson, Bro. Billy Kelly, all those old men of God that stood firm for the truth! Proud to call myself an old-fashioned Baptist!!!
Carl Jackson, a true legend, from Lousiville,Ms. Carl spent forty some odd Yeats with GlenCampbell, starting with him when he was barely out of high school.
Oh my God . Praised the Lord. What heavenly voices you all have been given. How modest and pure. God bless you brothers I am so blessed listening to the song. Luke 12:32. Thank you brothers.

There's a little mountain church in my thoughts of yesterday
/ Where friends and family gathered for the Lord
Where an ol' fashioned preacher taught the straight and narrow way

Dressed in all our Sunday best, we sat on pews of solid oak

How Mama sounded like an angel on those high soprano notes
/ And "When the Roll is Called Up Yonder I'll Be There"
Looking back now that little mountain church house
/ Has become my life's cornerstone
It was there in that little mountain church house
/ I first heard the words I based my life upon
At the all day Sunday singing, with dinner on the ground
/ Many were the souls that were revived
While the brothers and the sisters who've gone on to Gloryland
/ Slept in peace in the maple grove nearby
Looking back now that little mountain church house
/ Has become my life's cornerstone
It was there in that little mountain church house
/ I first heard the words I based my life upon

Wow
I want to play music just like you
Amen, we need more little mountain church houses with old fashioned preachers!
Amen! Not these big buildings that God never intended to happen and the higher degrees that include how to swindle folks out of their money!
God bless you
Still gives me goosebumples... every bit... every solo, every harmony... the total is much bigger than the sum of the parts...
