I’ll never forget the first time I learned who Matt Maeson was. I was cleaning my bathroom and RUclips was blaring when I heard a song I immediately loved so I ran back to the room to see what it was. It was Dancing After Death and I was like okay cool this is the guy that sings Cringe and Go Easy. So I ended up spending my next 12 hours listening to every single song of his, absolutely mind blown that I couldn’t find a single one I didn’t like. It’s been 2 years and his music is still my refuge. It’s nice being a grown ass adult and having an artist you can like this much. Whenever he finally tours again, I’ll probably fuckin faint. Anyways, I waited for this song for days literally counting down the hours and of course it didn’t disappoint. Idk- there’s something really special about Matt Maeson! Can’t wait to see what comes next.

He is a spectacular musician, I am glad you discovered him because he is a diamond in the ruff. I discovered him (almost) the same way as you, I was playing a song on spotify to help me fall asleep and I woke up and realized I had left my phone on and the music was still playing I heard this song that was irresistible to my ears and felt to relatable, I am so glad I left spofify on auto play.

For those saying we need an album from him: I think part of what makes each of his songs really incredible is that none of them are forced in order to fill out a certain number of tracks. They are all deeply personal and unique to exactly what he wants to process through at the time. Sure it may mean less music, but quality is always preferred over quantity.

    • @quantumsymbiote5469
      @quantumsymbiote5469 3 года назад +17

I 100% agree with the aforementioned. Quality over quantity wins every time, and Matt's music is hands down, the best quality anyone can find on the internet. I swear, it seams like this dude sings my entire life story in every song. Maybe that's just the imagery he manifests through his lyrics, or maybe we've lived the same struggles and strife? Whatever it is, I'm glad there is a true artist out there that so many people can relate too. Matt is one artist that I hold close to myself and don't share with many friends or family because I don't want him to become too "mainstream", but at the same time I wish the entire world could enjoy his music right along with me. Hands down, one of the very few, true artists left in the world. 🤙

He just.... he really is simply uncapable of putting a bad song into the world. They all find a way to touch your soul, even when you know you could never fully understand it. Matt said this song was for him. You can hear in his voice how personal it feels, how much emotion there is behind words (even though he always gives it all to all his songs). I was the kind of guy who never had a favorite song or a favorite artist, it was always something about "i really like this one thing right now". This all changed when I heard Bank On The Funeral, and specially when I heard Feel Good. It all felt so personal. It felt like something inside someone's heart (maybe my own) had been ripped out and manifested in the world, where it was given to me, so I could touch it and examine it.
Thank you for being an artist, Matt Maeson. You're something special.

This reminds me of a man I love , it's sad to see him hurting. I feel the same way he does right now. Abandoned by our entire family . They tell us that by helping us it means that we are not helping ourselves , that is the exact opposite of what healthy true love should be and it's them that ends up putting us in harm's way. This is what my story feels like right now. I am so grateful for this music for the realness of this video and the art behind it . All the world is watching no one is helping and they find entertainment and make money off of our misery. 💓💓💓💓💓 Sending my love to you Matt Maeson.

I see you God as someone who is coming with a knife in your hands to kill my flesh, or a bag of demands on what you want from me. How can I want this? How then can I ever change?”

I went out today, to breathe the fresh air, hoping it'd make me feel alive. 3 days since I decided he was worth everything, including my search for new highs. I found a new song while rolling along, he said before the melody started "it sounds weird but, it felt like death was following me" and once those words wrapped around my throat, I saw a bumper sticker that said "you could die today," and maybe I could. I just know I don't want to sleep tonight now.

    Lyrics:
80 miles in a puck truck
I was on my way to scraping off the cuffs
Had some stepped on shit, so I did me some
You and I, we talked over toast
Mmm, rediscussing everything we know, we know
Then you got into my car and I drove you home
Oh, salvation with a pump fake
Oh, a fucking band is where I put my faith
But I ain't no servant to a man with a green green face
Trent wood and a fat lip
Put on the cuffs and heard that Mike got bit
A fucking copper wouldn't tell me anything
    Tidewater, I was comatose
I swear I knew that guy that waved was just a choke
So I quit another job and I hit the road
Oh, damnation at a full sprint
See I was never shown a way to handle this
But I ain't no servant to a man dressed in politics
I saw you coming with a gun your hands
    I can't want this, I can't want this
I saw you coming with a bag of demands
    I can't want this, I can't want this
I crawl to something with a life full of plans
I'm not helpless, I'm not helpless
I'm not the victim if I don't take a stand
    I can't want this, I can't want this
    I can't want this, I can't want this

We don’t all have the same problems and relations. We don’t have the same face, body’s, and soul. One thing we can relate upon is the fact that we all live here on this planet.
No matter what we believe in, we are all going through this life with happiness, sadness and then all of the other emotions that tie along with those feelings. Our meanings here are to influence others and yourselves to make a life worth living, a life you you can look back on and be happy the day we leave.
Matt’s music has left an impact on my life since I’ve figured him out in 2017. Keep on creating masterpieces ❤️
