    I hate to think of it this way, but I learned I was of Senegalese descent. I was blessed to be welcomed home by a local Senegalese family and became acquainted with their food. Every time I see a good recipe, I think....THIS IS WHAT THEY TOOK ME FROM?!!! ALL OF THIS GOOD FOOD!!!!!

    greetings from India. I was in Dakar, saly mbour few years ago. loved the food. my most favourite is yassa poulet the. thanks for a recipe with no adja or Maggie. been looking for it since ages. can't wait to cook this for my husband who is a gorgeous and loving Senegalese man.. 😍

    I love this dish. There is a Senegalese restaurant here that serves it but it is now quite as good as home made. Thank you for posting. I have to learn to cook this myself.

    We have a lot of Africans ether from Senegal or Benin or Congo in Haiti my mom and dad are from Senegal but I'm from Haiti since they moved there when I was younger . But I now live in the states but I love your cooking I feel back at home

    Looks delicious! When you plated the food, reminds me of couscous dish in Morocco. We use similar ingredients for the vegetables. Can't wait to try your recipe!

    So since im from gambia i know how to cook theibbou . But we cook it similar . Theres a few differences but they all taste excellent !!! Btw there is no difference between the 2 countrues bcs they were one country until sadly it got divided but we are all the same !!

      Oh really I only knew about thiebou of fish and rice. Perhaps would be good idea for you to cook all of them just to vary and better surprise him.

      Binette, hello my sister. Lovely video and keep up the good job. Yett is called 'sea snail' in English and its scientific name is 'cymbium senegalensis'. Hope this helps :-)

    Food looked really good but I would suggest using a glass container in the microwave so the chemicals in the plastic don't leach into the food and cause health issues down the road

      Sali Timite you can buy red snapper fish at the Chinese market where they sell also fish. Or you can use tilapia fish.

      Sali Timite yet is in French. It's a dried snail like dry fish we use back home for the taste of the food. You can find it in your local store if you live abroad.

    Hello from uk, I would like to try to make this dish. Can I use any fish (sea bass) or just this this. I'm not sure where to buy the the 2 small dry fish's? So can I leave them out? Also, can we add any vegetables or these are the main vegetables in this fish. I was thinking carrots, potatoes, okra, aubergine? Many thanks

      +Fatima Weder Thank u again for watching my video .The onions ar mixed with: red peper,green onion,and som (yellow,green and orange peper).For the rice u just have to wash it and place it in the microwave for 10mn .Dt fotget to share please

    Hi, this is quite interesting and looks very tasty as well. Do you drain the rice completely before putting it in the microwave? I have never cooked rice this way before, do you do it to pre cook before you add it to the pot?

      Thank you very much dear. At the end I thing that is the "mad and dakkar" they are optional as most of us Senegalese like it and their is no specific dry fish to use.

      too much water causes it to be mushy

      Yes but when I put alittle water it comes out to hard. I try to level the rice with the water but it's not coming out so nice.

      It is just depend how much water you have before putting the rice.

      Dialysis Technicians WorldWide place foil paper over the top and cover..just cook it slow. Open the pot and stir and recover...could take up to two hours....use low heat
