I know this video is from 2 years ago, but this seriously helped me out so much. I recently got some linear rails for the X and Y axes on an Ender 3 and after installing the Y axis I noticed it just didn't seem to be quite right. Starting doing a little research and found out about cleaning them even if they're brand new. Started doing more research on how to do it the best and most proper way... Was set on getting it done today and then I found your video. Dude, you made me realize it's not some crazy complicated task like many of the other videos out there. Of course I was nervous and didn't want to mess them up or ruin them, but like you said, it's really simple and straight-forward. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience!
Great information. Good idea to clean the rails before installation. Very nice video.
thank you bro!!
Awesome video! I was just inspecting the rails for my build and was like, these things feel like they have sand in them.
I’m definitely going to use this method. Thanks for the information!
you're welcome 👊🏾
Interesting I have super lube for my car exact same stuff but grease
Nice cleaning, I clean the rails with acetone and I make the carriages soak in wd40
That’s works too
How long do you soak the rails and carriages for?
@@JordanCruzz about 10 mins
You should really grease the whole rail. Every square inch. Not heavy grease but a light coat to prevent rust.
still no rust to date, but thanks for the info.
I can not believe I was considering to let that raspy mf sit on there without proper cleaning. Thanks so much for the comprehensive guide, actually the blower got out a lot of water/ipa mix so that part definitely was a great tip. Running buttery smooth now!
Great video. I just put a linear rail on my X axis for my Sunlu S8 and I cleaned it the same way.
I'll be doing a micro Swiss direct drive for a linear rail video real quick.
I saw that you had linear rails on your y axis for your Sunlu. How did that go?
Liked and subbed. Keep up the great videos
Thank you!, I love the linear rails on the y I design the adapter myself and put in thingiverse but I definitely need update the information in how to mount it.
@@GoldenJaguar3D ok I downloaded some rail adapters awhile ago i think you're there same person then lol. I also asked a few questions on thingiverse.
@@mpulford311 awesome I maybe I’ll do a in-depth video of how it’s mounted
Think I'll stick with my "V" rail.
Here in europ this lube small bottle cost 50 euros more expensive than the rails lol we need a difrent selution as this is expensive as gold .
wow that's pricey
