    After well over a year of planning, our overland truck is finally here! It's not what we originally planned to be driving the world with, but we think it's even better. Today we're showing you guys the process of how we ended up with a 1988 Toyota Land Cruiser BJ75 with a BiMobil Husky Camper on the back. This truck is not something we could have ever dreamed up since these trucks are so hard to find, especially in America. When we saw it listed on Instagram, we jumped at it and contacted the owners immediately. You'll have to watch the full vlog for the story. :) Stay tuned for more videos of our truck in the coming weeks and months!

    Hey y'all! We're Chris + Sara (or as you know us, Let’s Be Us), a husband and wife digital nomad travel duo currently working and traveling full time with our pup, Kramer. We've always dreamed of traveling full time, and in May of 2018 we took the leap and made it happen! Today we're balancing work and fun everywhere between the Pacific and Atlantic. From hiking and cycling to tacos and coffee, we're trying to see and experience as much of this world as we can! While our home is currently on wheels in our DIY Sprinter van, our travels take us all around the world.

    Well I guessed wrong. The tuc-tuc video makes way more sense now. My mom use to park on the side of a steep hill to teach people to drive manual. I just tell people to use the handbrake on hills an release it right as your release the clutch. Just don't expect the handbrake to hold on a steep hill. If its adjusted correctly, it will if facing down hill. But its directional. It does not keep you from rolling backwards very well. So get good before any steep hills. An always park in gear. First is fine, Reverse is lower so better.

      Hey! We loved our Taco and we'll definitely talk more about this in our video this coming weekend, but the short-ish answer is that we purchased the truck with the intention of doing something super minimal to get it into Thailand (which is hard to get RV looking vehicles into). However, plans have changed for a lot of reasons and we've decided to do something a bit more comfortable. The Taco is a super reliable and a comfortable truck, but finding parts overseas if we need them will be difficult plus it doesn't have the payload capacity to handle the type of camper we were looking at (specifically for a large water tank, air conditioning for the dog, etc.). It's still a super solid truck and truthfully we weren't really that concerned about getting parts overseas since we would carry the basic necessities with us anyway.

      @@chrisandsara many yrs ago there was a manual shifting system called 3 on the tree. The shifting was on the steering column. I think forward was drive, the middle was neutral, and shifting toward you was reverse. I think there was a clutch on floor. I dont think it's in use anymore. I had just learned to drive in late 70's or early 80's and a friend taught me how to drive it.

    As I'm British I find it very hard that you can't drive a manual car, here in the UK if you pass your driving test in an automatic car you are not allowed to drive a manual car.🇬🇧🇬🇧

    • @kathleencachon2782
      @kathleencachon2782 Год назад

      Driving a manual car is a good thing learn. I can drive both an automatic and manual. Not sure about Europe but most cars in the USA are no longer manual. Some people who live in hugh cities such as NYC have never learned to drive but that's ok, people still find ways to get around.

    • @chrisandsara
      @chrisandsara  Год назад

      That's so funny! In the USA it's hardly a consideration anymore. It's a shame because manual is more fun than automatic! When we were wanting to learn before we picked up the RV we tried to rent a manual car and there were none available anywhere near us for hundreds of miles.
