      India should buy additional 36 Rafael already contracted. It should now concentrate on home grown Tejas and Prachand copter family. MoD must order 500 aircraft each and make budgetary provisions. This will help to boost confidence of HAL and it's suppliers for steady orders. We must become self reliant. We should deploy highly skilled techie from friendly countries .At the same time, our Engg.colleges must. BRING IN SUITABLE COURSES TO BOOST LOCAL MANPOWER AVAILABILITY

      AMCA - Same above, will take 15 years to get first jet out. So no payments for 15 years
      TEDBF - Not a viable product with limited scale. Anyway it is only in paper with no funding even for prototype. So no need to worry.
      MRFA - If ordered in next one year, it will take maximum of 10 years to complete the delivery. Payments can be spread over 10 years. This means, this require funding of 2B per year which is possible.
      By the time MRFA is done, we can allocate budget to MK2 and then to AMCA.

      @@Jefe-Grande It is not going to be easy, but doable considering the critical gap in our force. MRFA has to become national priority project for IAF, so it takes priority over others. We dont really need lot of tankers as most of these MRFA contenders has longer range compared to tiny MK1A.
      It will make the job easier, if government can increase defense spending from 1.8% to 2.5% which is moderate. Considering that economy is also becoming bigger, this will give lot of resources.

Also if you consider MRFA as an option think about the first made in India aircraft delivery year and also the offered aircrafts will be very old by the time. But rather our Indian made flying machines will have new technology and also the infrastructure for the manufacturing of the same will be good and we can sell our new flying machines to the friendly countries. Also the defence export is almost 22,000 cr this year as per the GOI report. Considering all these My suggestion would be like the govt should invest the money and the resources in this program to get the good outcome. And we have already proven that by our home grown products like TEJAS MK1 & 1A and we have many More products which are at par with the developed countries.

    Retiring the Jaguar is a good thing. Although It is capable of very flying low to avoid radar, it struggles at doing this in India's major combat zones which are in the high altitude Himalayas because of insufficient lift due to its high wing loading and thin air. Tejas Mk1A is therefore a superior replacement for the Jaguar in Indian service. The Tejas Mk1A has also proven to be the most accurate attack platform in the IAF due to its fly by wire system, as well as India's most reliable, least crash prone, and most available aircraft even better than the Mirage 2000, Rafale, etc.

    • @vaimurthy
      @vaimurthy 6 месяцев назад

      Nope, Jaguar is used in attack role. MK1A at best is air policing. It cannot go deep into enemy area and not great in ground attack like Jaguar

    • @pisquared1827
      @pisquared1827 6 месяцев назад

      @@vaimurthy
      I think you are confused by the IAF role description for the acquisition contract for the Jaguar - "Deep penetration strike aircraft". In IAF parlance it does not mean long range strike as is the common meaning of this terminology. It means flying into enemy airspace at low level to carry out tactical strike without air superiority, which requires flying at low altitude under the radar. The Jaguar does not have a long range as it is a small aircraft. If you want a long range, you need to fly at high altitude as long as possible, not fly low level, which is the Jaguar's specialty. That is why commercial airliners and long range bombers fly at such high altitude.
      Jaguar is a dedicated strike aircraft, and it is good at flying at treetop level at sea level to avoid radar. The IAF DOES NOT DEPLOY JAGUAR IN THE HIMALAYAS, AND THE IAF DID NOT USE JAGUARS AT BALAKOT. As I said it is useless for any role including the attack role at high altitude, because it lacks the payload capacity for fuel and munitions, and the necessary maneuverability to avoid hitting the ground when flying at low height above ground in the Himalayas. Tejas is a better both as a low level strike aircraft and as a fighter at high altitude. It is not me saying this, it is the IAF that found this, and that they found in exercises that Tejas was their most accurate strike aircraft. That is why Jaguar is being replaced by Tejas Mk1A in IAF service in 3 years. There is a parallel for this in Israel. The Lavi (the Israelis sold this to the Chinese to form the basis of the J10)which was being developed as a strike aircraft to replace the Kfir (Mirage 3 development) which the Israelis used for strike. They used the FBY system on the cancelled Lavi to provide the stability to reduce buffeting and point the airframe for maximum weapons delivery accuracy. That is the reason why Tejas Mk1 is the most accurate weapons platform in the IAF - if you observe it in flight displays, it has control laws that allow it to maneuver very precisely and very smoothly despite it being very maneuverable. Strike aircraft try to reduce buffeting by reducing wing area to achieve high wing loading , but this can also be achieved by a FBW system. The use of a fighter for ground attack is not unusual - the Lavi was cancelled because its characteristics were similar to the F16 which also had FBW, and the F16 has become Israel and the US' primary strike aircraft after retirement of older dedicated aircraft and the new F15E strike eagle is also a fighter aircraft.

    • @pisquared1827
      @pisquared1827 6 месяцев назад

      @@vaimurthy
      Tejas Mk1A doesn't actually have a short range - that myth comes from figures published by a SAAB RUclips fanboy who gave a 500 mile combat radius for Tejas found on a website based on unknown combat payload, loiter time and fuel load, and compared it to a Gripen ferry range on internal fuel with a minimal payload and no loiter time. The combat radius depends on how much weapons payload you are carrying, how much loiter time is required. For example Tejas flew 1400 km without mid air refueling for the Dubai airshow display. So if you want to fly a combat mission on full internal fuel, 4500 kg of external ordinance, loiter for 45 minutes, and return, you would be able to do that with a combat radius of about 500 miles. If you carried a smaller payload and external fuel tanks you would get a lot longer combat radius.

    The way india has invested in rafales it is viable to have rafales manufactured in india although the cost will go up by 25%. But the experience to manufacture a world class fighter jet will make india in par with european countries. Not to forget to export rafales from india to other countries generating income and revenue for india. Even sales and service providers will bring in revenue as in case of su30s. Experience on latest machines will enhance the capabilities and sharing technologies in our own inhouse TEJAS TEDBF AMCA thus making aircrafts more capable than chinese and pakistanis. Although the initial cost is there but it will be a huge jump of QUALITY AND QUANTITY covering all our needs. Rafales will be our next Su30s covering all our needs for next 50 years plus. Not to forget F5 F6 of rafales parts commonality can be manufactuted in india itself. Right now due to long list of demand for rafales india has to wait then why not to bring in or import machinery from france to manufacture rafales in india. The only concern is time for infrastructure. For that 24x7 and in assembly line HAL & L&T can do that. Please consider.

      That is true but realistically speaking that’s not going to happen plus the problem is we’re paying too much for a 4.5 gen aircraft when F 35s and Su 57s are much cheaper.
      We should rather let that money go to indigenous programs and provide further subsidies to Indian private companies so that they step in and fast track the development.

    The current government squandered a decade of its term and nearly seven years' worth of the previous government's efforts on MRFA, yielding just 36 aircraft. Now, they're restarting the tender process. If they had initially contracted for more than 36 aircraft, it could have addressed the significant issue of dwindling fighter aircraft strength.

    MRFA deal will be cancelled. India have not sufficient money to purchase 114 fighter aircrafts at a time. So India should purchase 36 Rafale--F-5 for Indian Air Force and 36 Rafale--F-5 for Indian Navy... On the other hand Rafale or Typhoon are fourth generation fighter aircrafts. Indian Air Force doesn't need any fourth generation fighter aircraft after 2030. After 2030 Indian Air force and Indian Navy should purchase Sukhoi--57 or AMCA Fighter Aircraft...
