That’s how you know you have it trimmed up nicely hands off
Yes, I always have my students let go over the yoke when they are done trimming for them to see that they have, or have not, properly trimmed the plane to the power setting they've set.
I've never even once pitched for airspeed on approaches - 49 years flying.
