    Omg the flank polishing on the case is STUNNING on this shape! It looks like a mountain with a snowy top! Amazing!

    This is awesome. I feel like grand seiko is one of the few relatively affordable brands that has some really, really interesting watches that don’t at all feel like lesser/accessible versions of more expensive brands. They are their own thing with their super unique dials and tech (spring drive).

    I just walked in my house with my NEW SBGA415 and it's incredible. Equal and, in many cases, superior to my Rolex. I love what Seiko has done with this. Worth every penny of the $6300 retail price. I'm anxious to see if it lives up to its accuracy reputation.

      yeah, that's exactly what Texas Instruments said when they came out with the first digital watch in the early 70's followed by the quartz. "yeah, the future of watches...." as rolex and all other swiss mechanical highly flawed and less accurate authentic swiss times pieces continue to triple in value.....you probably drive a rice burner and hate america.... an awesome high end watch has nothing to do with accuracy or else every millionaire would be wearing a battery operated quartz watch you nimrod

      What to get! I really like the "413" Spring, but the "Winter" with its blue second hand really speaks to me and the dial seems to blend with the titanium finish of the watch slightly better than the pink dial of the "Spring". What did you eventually end up buying?

  • @hantms
    @hantms 3 года назад +3

    I've seen this one in person and it's amazing. Not often that you hold a watch and there's a slight involuntarily gasp just looking at it, but this is one of those. Can recommend to look up some more video and photos of the dial texture; to me it evokes clouds with infinite random shapes, it looks naturally formed more than man made. Still kicking myself for not buying it on the spot.

      I’ll tell you what I don’t like. I went to buy a snowflake and once I picked it up and tried it on I changed my mind. It’s gorgeous, but the titanium is so light it feels like plastic. I couldn’t get over it, and returned home empty handed. Considering a blue snowflake but don't want leather band down here in Florida, so I'm patiently waiting for all the '20s to be released.

      I did the same thing the first time I saw the snowflake in Los Angeles. I tried it on in the boutique and it felt so light because I was used to wearing my Rolex steel. I did not purchase it.However I ended up getting the watch here at home and I can honestly tell you that it is one of my favorite watches. You get used to the weight difference, The dial is incredible, the polishing is unmatched, and the titanium gives it a great tool like grey shimmer. I like it so much I have purchased a few other Grand Seiko’s. My humble advice would be to tell you to try it on again and not let the weight discourage you, It is something special.

    I was planning on buying this watch until I actually saw it in person. The main reasons for not buying it was the dial color was darker than expected, titanium is light but doesn’t “feel” right, the case size was to thick, and finally bracelet pins in watch at this cost does not make sense. GS is so close....

    somebody that knows more than me please inform me: He mentions that "this is grade 5 titanium,not 2" how better or worse are to each other or why is this an important distinction to make?

    • @SirMopy
      @SirMopy 4 года назад +2

      robin delabra like he said in the video: titanium grade 2 is way more prone to scratches and a lot of watch enthusiasts are avoiding and criticizing this. Grade 5 is almost as durable as steel. Way lighter tho and some might not like it. The craftsmanship here is the Zaratsu Polishing from GS on the titanium grade 5. It‘s highly and super difficult to give it those looks. If you want a light feeling watch on the wrist, the grade 5 is the best choice to be more safe with scratches. It‘s even a more „precious“ metal than steel.

    • @robindelabra3874
      @robindelabra3874 4 года назад

      @@SirMopy Thanks for the reply,got it.
      But then,in your opinion,do you think that grade 2 is automatically garbage (as a material for watches) ,for example if there is a watch that offers a titanium (premium) variant and normal steel one...would the steel one be more recommendable?
      Edit: I ask because such a watch exist and I (in my ignorance) just assumed Titanium (whatever grade,in this case 2) was automatically better than steel ,therefore I was about to go for the "premium" one,and by answers of knowledgeable and kind people like you i might avoid a mistake.
