Richard, people like you are the real deal, what made our country great. Resourcefulness, work ethic, and Jesus followers. God bless you and your family. BTW, my wife and I plan to visit Cleveland, TN next month and visit some friends. Greetings from Arizona.
Thank you for the nice comment. We’re glad that you enjoy the channel and we try hard to film what’s happening here that we think people might be interested in. Thank you for all of your support and have a great weekend.
It always cracks me up when the dogs get all excited about going to the creek😂 Dogs are smarter than people because they understand more words than I understand woof, bark, and whine! 😂
Wow Richard! Your attention to detail and your precise craftsmanship is amazing! This build is really coming along nicely. I can’t get enough of your videos!! My dog absolutely loves Dolly and Smoky, especially at the creek!!
Hi Richard, I have followed you for about 4 years I believe & the Shop is really looking GOOD, Awesome Work that you have done on the whole structure !! I have really enjoyed watching you build these Post & Beam building's, that are true old world design, including all the other structures and of course your cabin ! The Homestead (Camp) is very cool and well built and your channel has come a long way ! I also I think you have mastered making the right type of video's, that portray your lifestyle & the master plan you have for the property.
Well, thank you for that nice comment. We’re glad that you are enjoying our journey and we appreciate your support and views. Sometimes I look back and it seems like a long time and then I look at it a different way and it seems like such a short time. There’s still quite a bit to do and hope you enjoy the future videos
Good afternoon from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Your new saw mill is coming along nicely. You do amazing workmanship on the beams. I really look forward to watching your RUclips videos. Thank you! 🇺🇸
What a great build you have going on , been following you from the beginning. Love your videos and your daughter and family members helping out 👍 also your fur babies
Those pups! - Oh my goodness! What a joy! Your workshop is coming along - I am excited to see the finished product but enjoying your excellent craftmanship along the way.
I would say it is anything but excellent. Those two certainly keep me busy and that is no lie. Yeah I’ll be excited to finish this project and get started on a different one. Stay well and have a good weekend.
Great video Richard, you got a lot of work done by yourself. Congratulations to Brandon's Team for their win!! It's looking good around there and going together really good. Thanks for sharing with us, keep up the great videos and the fun you have around there. Fred.
Just catchin' up on videos. Thanks for sharing your next new building project(s). 🙂👍 P.S. I climbed poles as a USAF electronics tech (NAVAIDS). Pegs and/or spurs. 🙂
Besides labor, there is fuel, equipment, & land with trees on it. [ My guess is the cost is closer to at least $10,000. to up to $25,000. ] Thanks for sharing.
Metal for roof so far 1500.00, oil and protectant approximately 500.00, roofing felt and screws about another 500.00, and estimated fuel for saw and blades another 500.00 If one owns land with trees and is willing to do the labor then it’s free so to speak. The other equipment is part of owning a farm/homestead. So with that in mind, to us it didn’t really cost much other than the labor to do it.
@@SmokyMountainOutpost [ so around $3,000 over a years time, well within your budget. ] Thanks for the additional details, while I grew up in the country some 20 miles to the west of Fort Smith Ark., I have become a city Folk. Thanks.
@@SmokyMountainOutpost I think you must have had it a while, the cost is significantly more these days. Looks like you might have the LM-30 which based on engine choice goes from $6200 - $8400 and that doesn't include shipping or tax or other options such as extensions.
Hello Richard and Jennifer. Building is looking great! I guess your E mail doesn't work in Canada as it keeps kicking me out. Lets forget the visit as she has a very busy itinerary. It would have been fun but maybe in the future. Greetings from Perth Ontario Canada! Have a great weekend!!
I have heard more than once that if you peel the bark off of the logs, it protects the blade from dirt, sand, and whatever else can build-up within the bark. What is your opinion?
I believe it. Most of the trees would be difficult to do that prior to cutting. Some mills have a blade ahead of the bandsaw that removes a cut width before sawn

@@SmokyMountainOutpostWhat I mean is, can you do giveaways for outdoor tools? It's a question. the other question is: the large wooden dowels that you put on the large slats instead of screws or nails. Don't the wooden ones split in the center over time? I love them they are very SELF-SUFFICIENT. KEEP LIKE THIS 😉

We like it. I think we originally paid $6300 for it and it has paid for itself over and over again.
