To get an idea of what a Polymath is like check out Adam Savage hanging out with Chris Hadfield. People keep saying Adam Savage is a polymath but he himself says he is not. He can build you a remote controlled robot from scratch but he is not a polymath. Polymathy is a different level of cognition entirely... and the polymaths differ from one another a lot as well depending on what they get into. The reason polymaths have so many skills is because they are simply always engaged in learning and also learning comes easily to them. Studying many things doesn't make you a polymath retroactively - polymaths naturally end up learning more things than others cause they are more capable AND more interested. Chris Hadfield is an example of a polymath. When talking with Adam Savage you can see the difference as Adama Savage gets lost in the things Chris says or doesn't even have the same considerations when discussing something. Chris is keeping an extra few considerations during all of the conversations which escape Adam until his attention is brought there. Though I dunno how those conversations look to a 'normal' person. His plea is dire. Please read the update.
If he still hasn't found anyone, someone should reach out to Earth Haven in North Carolina. They are an off-grid community with a pretty large mailing list, website, blog etc. And probably could use their networks to get his story out to the right people who would be interested in his property...

Agreed. This was a fascinating story of two beautiful souls. I am so sad that his wife, Vanna Rae, was not alive so I can hear her side of the story as well. What a beautiful story of the love of nature and love of each other. You could not have accomplished this without love and devotion to each other. Indeed. With traditional media they'll be looking for the sponsorship and product placement opportunities. @discorperted No, you cannot handle the TRUTH, I feel sorry for you, because you cannot see GREATNESS when it's in front of you! Charles is "one of a kind" and has taught us so much about "humanity". Which you know nothing about.
He almost had an Apple TV series done, but they couldn't come to an agreement, in part because they wanted to bring in tons of RVs and other equipment, and then he'd not have any rights to what was produced. We were there in April 2019 and were considering moving there as caretakers.
I love his quote "Limitations are not necessarily bad. They actually inspire creation because if you can go to the store and buy it, it's too easy. You just buy it. If you can't buy it, then you have to make it." Fantastic sentiment for life in general!
Creativity comes from limits. When someone is told "do whatever you want" they can't think of anything, when they're told "do something within these bounds" then they are flush with ideas.
Kristin, what you’re doing, with these videos you make around the world, is so important. @discorperted Frankly you sound like a typical lazy socialist with all you entitlement garbage. The opportunities for those "homeless" to better themselves is in place...its called desire and work ethic. And if the schools need more money to "educate" (more like indoctrinate) than talk to the politicians. The money is already there its just being spent in places that it shouldn't be. Its interesting that a man will never receive criticism from someone doing more than he is....only from people doing less.

What an amazing journey. Thank you for sharing.
That is a wonderful quote and one we have thought about as we ponder our life's work. The insights must become eternal.

He is definitely a genius.
He simply radiates positivity , enthusiasm, creativity and hope.
I really wish we could have had the opportunity to "meet" his wife, too.
I pray that he finds equally passionate, devoted and intelligent successors; to protect & care for his life long investment, and carry on he & his wife's absolutely beautiful legacy.

It would be interesting to interview his children, usually it skips a generation and they probably ran to the city.

@@cthoadmin7458 he is not even close to being a polymath. Being a handyman is not being a polymath. His misunderstanding of wood when he talks about it is ... out of this world craziness.
If you wanna be smarter look to Soma Thera and Tesla and Buckminster Fuller ... and maybe Ananda Maa ;) Good luck.

This man’s energy level is off the charts so is his mental capacity. He is so tuned in to the nature around him it’s just a beautiful thing. He is healthier than us and much more awake. I am sure his diet and the Forest itself is keeping him energized. Imagine fresh produce 7 months of the year no- chemicals!!!
This is what full human potential looks like
He's sort of the living embodiment of the word "jolly." Also his voice sounds like Mr. Swirly from the cartoon "Doug."
THIS IS LIFE, and wee need more minds like it
agree entirely up until the "no chemicals". He drinks water, eats food so he absolutely consumes chemicals.
This guy has an absolute dream house
I know right!
*made
When we live in a nightmare The Normality seems a dream. 💞
Life... you meant to say life...
This guy is so intelligent, he has an amazing knowledge of forestry.
This man does not stop talking about his love for this beautiful living environment he created with his wife and I’M HERE FOR IT.
What an ABSOLUTE GENIUS and JOY Charles is and YOU ARE Kirsten....My God, what a GIFT this is and was for me to be blessed to see it today. I can't thank you and your crew enough. I feel smarter having watched this, more connected to the earth, and well in heaven on earth thanks to you and all those who allowed this moment to BLOOM with so much WISDOM and GRACE. Big huge hugs and blessings, all my love in gratitude, Paul
I've had the pleasure of spending christmas here a bunch of years ago. Charles is amazing. we walked the forest and gathered wild mushrooms which he cooked up for dinner with some bear stew. The time spent with him in the woods really transformed my inner spirit. hated to leave. i stayed in the a frame house. The woodstove also heats the water for a shower. magic place. magic man.
Jennifer Ellis lucky you.
Jennifer Ellis can you message me his info? I want to set up a time to go.
I fell in love with his Aframe. It was love at first sight. Would live there in a heartbeat.
Wow you were blessed to have been able to share this with him.
@Pharoah Blackgod depends on what the bears been eating.
should be a part 2 to let this man tell the rest of the story
Yes please
Yes. I could sit and listen for hours. I mean he kept my attention. So much KNOWLEDGE
Agree
🙌🙌🙌 Yes please
Yes, That is a good idea!!
I would listen this man for hours. Best episode ever.
Yes ....ever!! Agreed.
Totally. Best ever! I hope we get to see him again!
agreed ...best episode ever
@discorperted God I hope you're joking. If you are it's not very funny. If you aren't........you worship Hillary Clinton.
This man is a gem. He LOVES talking about this and his excitement is infectious. I wish he was my grandpa.
I know they say it’s never too late but when I watch something like this I realize I’ve already wasted most of my life working towards someone else’s dream.
dude, same =(
five half days and 2500, you can do it!! :
Yep! We can’t ever go back to yesterday! Shucks! But, I’VE GOT AN IDEA: We can modify ‘doing it’ HOW? Let’s TEACH THE NEXT GENERATION WHAT WE’VE LEARNED SO FAR!
It’s always time to share what we know with those little one’s who will listen. Many young one’s are thirsty for skills for living life!!! Find them tomorrow and start sharing... LET’S DO THIS. WE’VE GOT THIS! 🙏🏽😎
stop
No, you can always move into a small RV and put it wherever you want, just saying. It's a start 😀😀
what a gentle soul. I wish he could live another 50 years to see the forest that he imagined. This is what living looks like
His spirit will live on as a guardian of this beautiful forest : )
I had kind of the same thought.. What if he could live for like 450 years... Can you imagine what he would accomplish?
discorperted Lunatic Troll!!
This video is an absolute treasure. After months of lockdown, pandemic and violence watching this video was a breath of fresh air. It was truly inspiring. What a great man and a great spirit.
I want to go there..learn more.. create..💖
@@lunashynesparkles8913 Me too!
Everything about that man and his wife is impressive. Thanks for doing what you do Kirsten
"Limitations are not necessarily bad, they actually inspire creation"
This man is an example of ultimate wisdom.
This stood out to me too. Beautiful!
That thought is as old as the human civilisation, many people said it over the centuries.
He's like one of his ancient trees. Fully of wisdom and proud...
Certainly full of knowledge.
spot on. he is amazing. MASHA ALLAH.
As for those people who cut the trees the WRATH of Allah is upon them !
@@yourfukinjealousymademefamous This guy cut the trees too though? Is wrath on him too? He literally made a living of genetically modifying his forest in order to make a profit.
Another Somebody I didn’t hear him saying he genetically modified his forest. He “cloned” trees; ie grafted them to make more simply because it was faster than growing them from seeds. How is that genetically modifying?
@@whammond511 How is it not genetically modifying the forest? That's like putting a transplant heart in someone and saying they weren't genetically modified. Maybe I misunderstand the meaning, but that graft is susceptible to the same things the parent shoots are, right?
I hope Mr. Bello finds the right people to continue his work. What he has created is so beautiful and what an amazing human being he is. God bless him.
This guy is that grandpa everyone wishes they had. Also the same guy who will point out all of his building accomplishments and then turn around and shake his head at himself because he didn't get done half of what he wanted to do. 🙌
@discorperted and you are just stupid and full of jelousy
