    Hi, I’m Beppe Zanghi Archer instructor since 1990. I always use Hoyt compound, but after the Prevail model, very bad for my opinion, I switch to Mathews bows. For sure fantastic bows specially the Halon X comp 37”. Right now I use the TRX model (36” for filed ad 38” for indoor). I really disappointment for the new target bow from Mathews like a lot of archers here in Italy. I’m looking for something new in technology not in paint finishing or colors models. The Title for sure is a beautiful bow, within the same defect/problems of the previous models like cam bearings, module settings in half inches and top hats bushings. I don’t care the cost but is unacceptable a cost of about 2000€ with the same old problems. For sure in Mathews there is the engineering know how to build up a new model without the old problems because the working platform is really good. They need only improve the setting system and support customer in order to reduce the cost and not expand it. Why the central stabilizer or the special central setting of the sight bar? Witch are the benefit? How may archers in the word to be willing to spend money for a new stabilizer available only for one bow?
    I’m looking forward for a new Mathews model…
    All the best
    Beppe Zanghi

    Thank you for your review it is nice to see two top bows head to head. We would like a bit more elaboration to their attributes and what they are good or bad at. I feel in this review a more emphasis has been given to their color than their special characteristics.

      I remember when I worked in a bow shop 30 years ago that the Mathew McPherson wood grips was the cream of the crop. Now people can't wait to get rid of their grip as soon as they get it Everything seems to be one extreme to another with no middle ground. 😒

    After sharing a range with people shooting both the Title & the Stratos; I’d say I’d choose the Matthew’s. Not only is it beautifully manufactured it also sounds really nice & everyone I know who shoots one has a huge grin on their face when asked what they think of their bow.

    I own a Title 36 and an Elite Verdict 38. I do mainly 3D. Both great shooting bows. The Mathes Title is a piece of art. I love it. Zero Valley, ready to go, draw cycle much like the Hoyt SVX cam, but a better after shot performance. (for me). The Verdict on performance has a slight dump in the valley, depending on the let off settings, I shoot exactly the same scores with both Bows. If you are certain of your draw length, let off preferences and you are an experienced and phisically fit Archer and you like it, go with the Mathews. If you like to experiment buy yourslef a set of smooth mods and try Elite. That will give you basically all the options you want to play with. Basically it all depends on the Archer.

    I like the Mathews Finnish but that’s about it. I’m not a fan of the modular system, having to purchase modules for poundage, let off, draw length I would of thought was outdated tech. I’m more impressed with the new range of bows produced by Topoint. Love the new X40 and the new Acuity which I’ll pick up one of each.

I've had the Elite 3 years and I've been doing well shooting indoor competitions. I've not shot the Supra X at 50 meters yet but we'll see in the spring when I shoot club and regional events.

    Spot on about the Hoyt paint colors and finish.....a hot mess for sure.
    Makes one wonder what they're thinking anymore.....seems Hoyt is making it about themselves and not their customers. My 2013 ProComp Elite looks absolutely stunning........I've been wanting to upgrade to a Stratos but holding off hoping Hoyt gets their act together.
    Had the unfortunate opportunity to watch a friend pull his Altus out of the box for the first time.....the absolute look of shock and disappointment on his face when he saw how crappy the red really looks was heartbreaking.
    Another hot topic.......why can't the customer get brushed aluminum cams and hardware anymore? I don't want black......period!
    We're being asked to spend nearly $2,000.00 for a bow, the customer should be able to get what they desire.......get it together Hoyt!.......stop making it about you......start making it about the customer.
    Seriously looking at Darton

Let's face it, we will see both these models up there in the hands of Pro archers shooting amazing scores. However, if the diehard fans influenced by all the loud big American style brand hype could look beyond, they might surprise themselves. Vive le difference .

    Bridgelock is a 'thing' for sure Aussie. I know it's hard for you to understand, but weight unevenly distributed causes an imbalance, and the bridgelock takes weight from being on one side and puts in mostly in the middle. I like the passion you have for archery, I just wish you applied some intelligence to it. By the way, 2100-1800=300 not 400.

    • @jamietwigg4845
      @jamietwigg4845 5 месяцев назад +1

      The sight weight issue, isn't an issue at all when it mounts on the right, but the majority of its weight is centered.
      You Mathews fan boys are as bad as glock fan boys, my guess you own one of those too.

  • @thomasstanworth
    @thomasstanworth 5 месяцев назад

    in the US, $1899 to $2099 is 200 not 400. IMO the Hoyt championship red is the worst colour in their line. They now have some shiny and sparkly colours to make those who like that happy as from 2024. The finish is Cerakote, which is *vastly* superior to paint. It doesn’t chip and resists marking very well indeed. At the end of the day, anyone who chooses their bow based off paper specs is missing the point. You can go in with whatever prejudices you want, but archers may be very surprised about what they like after shooting them. And FWIW, most Mathews pros either shoot the Engage or side plates. Everyone is told to hate the Engage, so they do. But look at the staff shooters’ bows and the grips on them! The Engage feels funky ‘at rest’ and is quite rounded, but it shoots extremely well and is more immune to torque than the Ultraview, which is blockier and squarer. I shoot the Stratos SVX, but the Stephan Hansen and Kyle Douglas are showing just how capable the new Title is. People can moan all they like about archaic mods etc, but at the end of the day, this isn’t a beginners bow, or even one for intermediate archers. As much as I like rotating mods, fixed mods have several advantages (greater efficiency lower down the DL range and better back end and valley feel in many cases) as they genuinely optimise the DL on the cam. Both are awesome bows!

    I don't patronize Mathews for ethical reasons that I wont bring up here, but putting that aside and going by just the bows themselves: the Hoyt is head and shoulders the better choice. From purely an engineering perspective the Hoyt has a much simpler cable arrangement - just 3 standard endless loop cables, compared to the nightmare of strings all over the place on the Mathews. Major maintenance headache. The Hoyt also has at least a little bit of adjustability on the drawlength, as compared to the fixed module system on the Mathews. The Hoyt is cheaper too by a little bit. It's a slam dunk in favor of the Hoyt, really.....

    • @Matt-jl8xf
      @Matt-jl8xf 5 месяцев назад +1

      I guess we all have our opinions. I think the hoyt is way behind the title. Yes, tunability is a factor and I wish mathews did more in that regard... but once the bow is tuned its all good. Mods are a non issue for me since I know I like 70-75% let off and I know my draw length. The only downside is resale. To me the stratos looks dainty. I've seen many of them in person at the shoots I go to and they look like a kids bow. Their risers are well designed but they look awful.... At the end of the day its about what bow shoots and feels better and I think mathews is hard to beat on that front. People can diss them all they want but they shoot fantastic. I always shot PSE and I always wanted to rag on mathews just because they are the popular name and have so many shooters...then I won a trx38G2.... and I really did not want to like it. At first I thought I would sell it and get another PSE or something new... until I shot it... it blew me away how smooth and easy it shot. It put my PSE target bows to shame in the shootability aspect. My scores did go up a few points, just because the bow was so easy to shoot. Linear draw, quiet, dead in the hand... and if the Title is an improvement on that, then it I think the vast majority would take it over the hoyt any day. I have now gotten over my desire to dislike mathews and have accepted they make incredible shooting bows. Elite is also making some outstanding feeling bows too. I would like to try the new PSE's as well... and Bowtech is making amazing bows, but their ethics are total trash when you look at what they did to gillingham and douglas. Fired them late season after everyone has their contracts locked in... total A-hole move by bowtech... and then mislead the public saying they are putting 300k to grassroots archery.. but its only if a bowtech shooter wins all podium finishes in every tournament, so they will probably only pay 30k of that 300k... Call it good marketing if you want, but I call it slimey as hell, so I cannot support bowtech at this time. Mathews has incredible ethics from everything I see. I know a pro shooter that shoots for them... and he has told me nothing but good things. They celebrate success of their staff and there is no issue getting paid and no complaining from mathews. I heard bowtech would gripe and moan when it came time to pay out contingencies. Mathews also took in both gillingham and kyle douglas AFTER they had already locked in all their 2024 contracts. They found a way to work something out for them ... that says a lot to me. They sponsor so many people in both the target and hunting world and do a lot for archery. They may cost a bit much, but if that cost is to pay their pro's then I am fine with it. I have heard nothing bad about hoyt either and they also do a ton for archery so I commend hoyt as well.
      If you put the TITLE beside the hoyt, it looks like a brand new mercedes or bmw beside an old chevy cavalier. No comparison. The title looks outstanding. I love the look of my TRX... I even went and bought a used trx36 because I liked my 38 so much... and I think the title looks even better than the TRX does. .... Maybe when the used market catches up I will get myself a Title. I am scared that if I shoot one though, I might just blow a wad and buy it, lol... The good thing today is there aren't really "bad" bows... its largely just preference.

    This dude is much more knowledgeable in target archery than hunting. You can tell he has not done much bow hunting. You do not need an adapter for Mathews bridge loc. most manufacturers dovetails slide right in. The screw to hold the sight in place comes with all the bows. Running your sight through the riser does several things. First it eliminates the mounting block for your sight.
    That reduces weight and allows you to move your quiver in tight to the riser. Doing this keeps the weight from pulling on the right side of your bow. As well as putting the majority of the weight in the center of your riser making the bow more balanced over all.
    It is also a much stronger connection than the traditional mounting block. If you don’t want to use the bridge loc. the riser is still taped for traditional sight mounting.
    The module system allows you to to shoot from 50 pound to 80 pounds with the same set of limbs. This helps target shooters as much if not more than hunters.
    You want to shoot 55 pounds for indoors with a higher holding weight. You by the 55 pound low let off mod and shoot. You want a 65 or 70 pound draw weight for 3D or field pop the mod on and shoot. Any other bow your buying and swapping limbs or you have to set up a whole different bow.

    • @Ihwaz13

      Most sights don't have enough windage adjustment to work with bridge lock, so you need a different bar to move the sight body over enough.

    • @jasonbarnes3188

      I have setup I don’t know how many bridge loc bows for people. And I have not had any issues with windage from any of the major sight companies. I have a spot hog fast Eddie in my phase 4. and I have more than enough windage adjustment.
