That is a proper Colonel Mustard in the library candle stick 😂 It could be brass, but regardless it's a lovely find. If We Were Villains is like dark acedemia for theatre kids, and if you're not into that, the characters can be kind of grating
the secret history essentially defined the DA genre - that's why it's technically a modern classic & such an icon & a legend to other DA books
As someone who likes the dark academia aesthetic but has zero interest in the books, I LOVE watching people rant abt them anyway. So really looking forward to the video👀🖤

Yesss I always look for books when I go thrifting, I just haven’t found much unfortunately
I've read the Secret History when it was first published in the 1990's and it became immediately my favorite book then and I've reread it just this January and it still is my favorite book of all time. The prose of Donna Tartt is so outstanding, no other dark academia book I've read since is a match. If We Were Villains comes close, though. Good for you that you chose to buy these two. Enjoy the read.

It amaze me how all of them were in good conditions. In Spain, when you buy a book from Amazon, it always comes in bad conditions.
I loved both 'The Secret History' and 'If We Were Villains'! I hope you enjoy them :) My favourite 'dark academia' book is 'Babel' and my favourite 'dark academia' movie would be 'Dead Poet's Society'. If you get a chance maybe you'd like them too! Weird cuz I don't see Pineapple Street as a March botm option. I saw that book somewhere else and wanted it. But I've seen some people say it's a botm option but when I look it's not there. I highly doubt it's sold out either. Weird.

With your bronze candlestick, don’t do the tomato sauce/ketchup hack. Last week on Designed to the Nines, Natalee ruined one of her candlesticks by doing it. I can’t remember which one though so I thought I’d tell you to save you the potential pain😀
