  • We were looking for parts for Richard's 64 Pontiac Catalina. A lot of the older cars (30s to 50s) were gone.

I have a 69 Torino GT that I'm trying to talk him into restoring. this summer. He'll be 16 this year and needs a cool first car. We might be building that this year along with the two rat rods we started last year. Now if I can just get his sister building a car we might get those 1 million subscribers.

Star Chief was an American model, not Canadian. I had a 66 Star Chief Executive 4 door hardtop( no post) and it was an American model. Canadian Pontiacs would have been the Laurentian, Parisienne, Strato Chief, Beaumont ( Chevelle) and an Acadian-Canso(Chevy 2). Cool yard. Hope you go back again.

Yes I noticed the Sun Chief comment.. and you are correct. Maybe that guy was thinking of the Canadian 'Strato Chief'...? -Probably.

The last time I was there they were hauling all the cars to the crusher. They should be done by now.

I couldn't make it to the auction on May 15. I was hoping somebody would record it and post it but I don't see anything on you tube. I suspect it was mostly scrap dealers buying up cars to crush. There weren't many restorable cars there.

a place similar in my neck of the woods Cars dating back to 1915 up late 1990's almost 100 acres The owner died the window called a mid west salvage company and they cleaned the place up graded the land and planted winter wheat They took twenty five 40ft gondola truckloads to the scales, Everything was shredded by the huge scrap grinder destroyer that they brought with them.

I was there last week. The guy who bought most of the cars will still sell you parts off the cars he hasn't removed yet. Most of them are going for scrap. He's only saving a few. It will take him a long time to get them all out of the woods.

Nothing restorable for sure but plenty of hard to find parts. It's a shame they crushed most of the 40s and 50s cars. Richard needs a hood latch for his 48 Pontiac and I need some parts for my 50 Buick.

You're right.. I was joking. I have a friend who collects AMC cars. He shops at this junkyard for parts. I'm surprised he didn't but that Marlin. It was a solid body but you would need to find a decent Ambassador for parts.

@@alshotrodsandratrods8780 Marlins are to me the best looking fastback cars. Even better than the Charger . And those early Barracudas. That back glass is worth it's weight in gold. Cool video.

@@williamdeegan7840 I've seen couple of tv shows where they're restoring an early Barracuda and they make a big deal about how rare the back glass is and then "accidently" break it,
I restored one for my brother's wife and painted it plum crazy purple. My niece hated it. She didn't like people staring at her.
