Being a guy that lives in Arizona the one thing I can tell you about DVA parts is they are very, very proud of their parts. Don't expect to get a deal that will take your breath away. Expensive. Big time!!
They have a newer crown vic and I asked how much for the front suspension. They wanted $1200!!! $800 for a quarter panel from a Comet and $700 for a Capri hood. Not interested in knowing how much something off a muscle car would be.
I know that place all too well! Spent a lot of my youth browsing the selection at both locations. Not only did it satisfy the greaser in me, but it also allowed me to pursue my passion for herpetology/toxicology. I remembering catching at least one snake every time I would visit any automotive graveyard. So while I may have walked out empty handed as far as parts, at least I captured some snakes to be studied and safely relocated. _Never had a dull day in the junkyard._ For those complaining that they see rust, please allow me to clarify. What you see is more of a patina rather than actual rust such as iron oxide, ferric oxide or hematite. Arizona lacks high humidity (the average high rarely cresting 30%) and we don't have salt to accelerate the rusting process. When you see or hear of a vehicle being an "Arizona Car", that means there is no detrimental rust occurring. Sure we get some serious monsoon storms but the overall dryness in the air [year-round] prevents a lot of those "rust buckets" that everyone despises. Stay classy my friends. EDITED for double spacing and punctuation.
Bert Shackleford do you have any advice for the rest of us on how to avoid those vermin. Back here in the east we still have some pretty nasty snakes that hang out in junkyards but we also have rats and I guess on ocassion skunks!.
@@michaelweizer7794 Hyper-vigilance my friend. Best advice I can give you is to be aware of your surroundings. Do your best to spot them first. Use the OODA Loop method. OODA stands for: Observe - Orient - Decide - Act. It's taught to our Tier 1 warfighters to increase combat effectiveness. However, the OODA Loop applies to everything in life. Think like a reptile. Such as - Does this dark crevice of twisted metal look like a nice place to wait patiently for some prey to walk past? Now think one step further. Sure this twisted heap of metal may look inviting to a reptile. However, is the metal currently hot to the touch from the mid-day sun? Is it fully shaded or partially shaded? Does this crevice appear to be in a low traffic area? Do you notice any small game trails in or around the area? Try kicking things in safe manner and listen for any movement or response. I have yet to have a _Crotalus_ species (Rattler) fail to sound off once disturbed. Needless to say, I've been involved in herpetology/toxicology for over 25 years. So I'm constantly learning new things as I go. Obviously, you shouldn't go sticking your hand into places to which you cannot see. Part of the reason why I will *_NEVER_* understand "noodling" in the South but I digress... These are just some of the key things to observe. I don't always see the snakes or lizards before they see me. Just being overly cautious is the best approach to any potentially dangerous situations. It is also wise to carry a long stick (at least five feet long) to safely poke and prod any dark corners. If it all possible - _Please do not kill the snake or lizard!_ Stay safe my friend.
Hey Steve glad that you're doing better and can't wait to see you back in action soon. My wife and I love the show. I've spent about 8 yrs now looking for my project car and I'm pretty much giving up sadly enough, so I'm trying to find a G- body car I've been looking pretty hard found afew but nothing concrete yet . It's a new year, mabey the wind will finally blow my and I'll get lucky.
Actually the 62 Dodge and Plymouth predate the 64 GTO with the 413 cid engine available with two four barrels and mid twelve second runs on the strip. I was there and had a 62 Plymouth. In 63 and 64 they raised it to 426 cid and a 415 and 425 hp versions were available. In late 64 the 426 hemi was introduced and placed 123 in Nascar racing at Daytona. So; the Tempest GTO was a Johnny come lately entry in the muscle car wars.
Yea, but why are these never compared to the 64 Buick Riviera 425 Nailhead, which had 2 -4's, and put out 465 ft/lbs? I guess because they were considered more luxurious and not so much a muscle car?
Ditto here, guys, part of the year. rest of the time in Cabo area. Grandkids still live there, so i am gonna be there the next 8 yrs or so. Will look this place up for sure. Nice show, whoever sponsors it.
SOOOOO Who needs disc brakes?? I had a 68 Fury 3 police car with 11 1/2 inch brakes that would stop so quick the float would cut off the gas to the engine and it would die💀I never figured how to fix it so I never laid on the brakes very hard!!

He knows a lot but hates the fact just about any camero or malibu with a v8 would stomp that Coronett . At least 1 sec an 5 mph in a 1/4 mile. We still love him but he has got Mopar brain bad lol
I bought a 59 Buick from Jason. The body was full of bondo and chicken wire backed up by wads of newspaper. It was hard to blame anybody but them because the newspapers were only a few weeks old.
As I don't know if my message went through but I would like to have a phone number to contact you people I'm looking for a 55 Chevy pickup short bed 67 Super Sport in the 1964 Falcon Sprint and I would have wrote you I'm still going I'm going to be doing some other ones too but I'm starting with those thank you have a nice day
@@aaahtex902 Surface rust is totally different from structural rot. Cars that have been sitting in a junkyard in Arizona for 50, 60 years aren't going to be pristine.
Hate to say it, but that's not rust. A car that old in the north east would be so bad it would crumble away from the salt used on roads n the high humidity. AZ, New Mexico, Texas, SoCal, Nevada etc have what we would love to find. Just an opinion.
Not an opinion but a straight up FACT! They don't call that area the rust belt for nothing. South west US cars are what you want to look for to avoid rust for sure.
I could watch these all day
96ws6ta love classics they’ve really inspired me to start my channel
I’m blown away by how much this guy knows about cars
Michael Alvarado I’ve already learnt so much from him
You can tell he's not just reading from a script...he's the real deal.
Get well soon Mags. 💯👍 Will be awaiting your return in a couple months or so.

I bought my 59 Buick Convertible out of that yard 30 years ago.

Junk cars matter.

Rust free...🤣🤣🤣
Yea ik right smh looks like junk to me...
He means that there's little to no structural rust. 50+ years sitting in the Arizona sun is mean on paint but surface rust isn't that bad.
Atomic Millenial
I got that it’s just that everything he panned over with the camera has a lot of rust albeit surface....
That’s nothing compared to my rust buckets on my channel the Canadian winters really take a toll
lock him up
Восстановить бы все эти машины.
I dont buy ANYTHING from Ron or Jason McClure.

Just a little too dumbed down.
The only car show I like. The rest of them are stupid. The one with a 1 foot long scraggly beard really sux.
LOST ME @ **RUST FREE* by showing nothing but RUST!
Its rust from rain not from salt so I guess rust is not that bad.
