to summarise: the recent copyright claiming from TuneCore Japan alongside seasonal depression, a friend's friend turning out to be a creep, and the realisation i had to make this announcement about my identity sooner or later, was a wakeup call that I've not been making videos for myself, but to please an algorithm that hates me for being a human instead of a subservient worker bee, and values seeking endless validation from complete strangers.
i realised that's complete insanity to base my self worth on the opinions of complete strangers, so i'm deciding to step away from that culture, now that i have a chance to do so. videos will go back to the schedule before the decision to monetise was made, aka, 'when we have a video ready'. if youtube doesn't like it, they can stick it. (to be transparent; videos will still be monetised, i just won't work myself raw for it.)

Hey there nyx... honestly this video hit pretty close to home. I kind of went through the same feeling of making low effort videos for views, and while they can really well, it became all I was known for, and hated it. I felt like I had to produce videos as fast as possible, and that caused me to make one of my worst videos possible, my mahoru video. That video focused more on the fact that I had a shocking opinion then actually supporting that opinion with good evidence, and it's one of the only videos I unlisted because of it. Those videos made me feel absolutely awful and I was in one of the lowest points of my life. Fortunately though, I decided to cut making videos to pass the time and start making videos at my own pace, and while the views are small, I feel a whole lot better. Plus, I also wrote a total drama allstars rewrite, but that was before all that. I think I'll make a video on it!
Thank you for opening up to us like this Nyx. I can't imagine how stressful all of this must be for the entire system, and I hope Aeris does return feeling better and knowing that they're loved dearly. That being said, I'm personally very interested in both Skullgirls and anything relating to the Total Drama series, so I'm excited to see where that goes! ^^

this video is really heartwarmin nyx, I'm really excited for all your videos includin the non danganronpa ones, everything ya put out is really good so I can't wait to see the next thing you put passion into.
I know that feeling about not wanting to chase trends and only uploading what you want. I only make videos when I get an idea I like and when I get an idea can take weeks or a month. So thus, RUclips throttles my channel because I dare not appeal to the assembly-line algorithm and make content on a hobby schedule.
It's nice to see other systems in the danganronpa community. It's tough when the host goes dormant, but there is always a chance for them to come back. Wishing you the best for your system. ^^

I'd be really interested in the TD All Stars rewrite. That show was pretty much my childhood, and I'm only now realizing how bad it was. Keep working on stuff you want to do.

I’m glad you are doing what you want to do. Although many people fantasize about being a RUclipsr most don’t realize a lot of the burdens it can put on people. This makes me glad to see that you want to do things you want to do because you want to do them and not in an effort just to keep to a schedule. I hope things work out for you and I’m excited for any future videos that you are truly passionate about regardless of what the video is about.
Yes, you have to take care of yourself first. Uploading consistently to please an algorithm can become draining

It's good to take a stand for what you want to do instead of doing things you're forced to do. I sincerely hope the best for Nyx and that Aeris is ok, i might not completely know what to say but I know I do wish you both happiness. If there's one benefit from all this, it's youtube forcing your hand and driving you to go back to making the kind of content you want, not what blindly appeases a fickle algorithm. At the same time, changes like this can be stressful, so I hope we'll all be there to support you and the others, Nyx!

I definitely understand you when it comes to fake claiming, and I understand others who are doubting if they have a disorder. You and anyone else can read this if you wanna feel less alone.
In October of 2020, I was admitted to a children's psych ward where I was groomed and assaulted by the nurses and the other patients. I ended up developing Tourettes from the trauma, and I got diagnosed by two psychiatrists later on. On a transition day (a patient going home for a day to prepare for re-entering daily life), a friend I had made told me that our group therapist had made fun of me and fake claimed me while I was away. I was in the facility for months before I told my parents what was going on and they got me out. I was on a hiatus from TikTok at the time (still am), so I had no idea that around that time having tics had became something that was more widely talked about on the app, which led to creators being proven as fakers of the disorder (eg. ticsansroses). I started getting "called out" by people I knew from before the trauma, saying that I was trying to hop onto the Tourettes "bandwagon". I began to question if my disorder was all in my head. I completely believed that I was making it all up, and pretending to have the disease.
Remember: The things that happened to you *did happen.* What you are feeling *is real*. Nobody is better at telling you how you feel that *you*.
This may either make you feel better or pity me, but I figured this may help a few people that are victims of fake claiming.

I believe in you all the way no one can control you. We all are free from being control. I'm a game person and i don't have the right gear to talk during the gameplay and I don't have a set up a don't have a PC i have any extra things you could need. I support you till the end.. 💯🏅🏅💯
