Tom has become one of the most important and valuable players for us. I’ll never forget the feeling of relief when he came on against the lions in the elimination final. He has become as important to us as Crippa. He’d be mad to leave now. He could potentially be a 3 time premiership player at the blues. I’d definitely give him a 5+ year contract. He’s worth every cent !!!
Terry I agree with you on everything you said. I see a real connection and commitment between the senior players and that inner core I’m talking of Cripps CCC Harry Weiters Walsh Doc Newman etc we are definitely in the window this group has a very big opportunity to get us our 17 th flag I believe in cook as well he’s a great operator
Agree with you 💯, I said a couple of yrs back when his contact was coming up then he will be the best ruckman and will dominate games! Now I believe the biggest sign he's not going anywhere was I'm not playing football with my brother while he's playing at another club !!!! Fantastic BLUES FOREVER
I didn't have my glasses on and the only words I could read beneath the thumbnail were "Tom De Koning breaks his..." I nearly had a cardiac. Thank capital F it wasn't a training injury. Go TDK, Go Baggers!
Pretty certain he played at the same junior club with Weiters at Mt Martha, plus also became good friends with Cottrell at the Dandenong Stingrays. I don't see him leaving with those players at the club.
Obviously he's got to be paid a fair amount, and there's a definite crunch with our salary cap. A lot of opposition fans, mostly Geelong fans, have been saying he's as good as gone, but it's clear he loves the group and the club, so with some preparations and adjustments I think we'll be able to put forward an agreeable deal for him to sign on.
I just can’t see where he might go. Few clubs can afford him and those that can either do not desperately need him or aren’t really interesting destinations for a player like TDK.
On balance, I think he will stay. He would only leave if it was an over the odds offer, like $2m a year. Money too good, got to go. Wouldn't blame him either. But then you think who could afford that sort of money. He would then weigh up never making finals vs winning 2-3 premierships with the team he is in. I know where I would rather be.
G'day Tez, first thing is as I've said last time it depends on wether its all about the money or not, saying that if it was all about money he would have gone last time. Plenty of money floating about from others then. And the modern player seems to value the enviroment as much as money, How many big talents have left their club until late in carerrs if happy at their club. So mate like you I believe he'll stay, lets face it even staying he'll set himself up finacally for life. The Fremantle deal with their bloke complicates at the manager club level of negoitation I suspect, is the new bench mark is what his manager's going to say but either way he'll get a long one, with us or someone else.I'd be concerned if we went the Fremantle length, he's a ruckman, the body toll is a lot more per game than other positions and he's never going to be a bull type of body to help absorb the punishment. By the end of a extra long contract he'll be a mobile injury room. How long, I'd preferr five years, see how the bodies going and the promise he shows I guess but lets face it he's the upper hand and seven more likely agreeable to both sides if he's serious about staying. Love your work mate, Go Tez, Go Blues
He's not going anywhere. In all fairness though other clubs will try and until he officially signs on and extends itll be a story at different times during the year Gut feel is he'll turn down more money to stay
It will need to be a long big dollar contract and not sure the club will do it. Sad to say but I think he's gone and even worse probably a dodgy cats deal.
I think players more than anything want to be in finals and winning a grand final. Recognition and acceptance by the masses. We have that plus the loudest fan base and the largest crowds in the afl. You can see the evidence of this as the club has always had money but the culture now is the draw card . it’s a no brainer players want to come here not leave!

We need to sign him up,he’s our point of difference,I’m pretty confident they’ll get it done
It would be tragic to see him leave. I hope they can lock TDK in.

BLUES FOREVER
Got to pay the boy!!
TDK never leave Carlton
He will sign before his contract is up. Weitering was in the same situation. The media as usual are pumping us with false information
I didn't have my glasses on and the only words I could read beneath the thumbnail were "Tom De Koning breaks his..." I nearly had a cardiac. Thank capital F it wasn't a training injury. Go TDK, Go Baggers!
Love TDK.
Desperately want him to stay.
But if a club wants him and he wants them, we can ask for a TDKings ransom
Good. It's imperative that he stays.
Yes I think how you think Terry. Sign him for life.
Pretty certain he played at the same junior club with Weiters at Mt Martha, plus also became good friends with Cottrell at the Dandenong Stingrays. I don't see him leaving with those players at the club.
He’s not leaving. Take that to the bank . Why would you when we’ve just won the flag in 2025
Agree he could rip the park apart. If charlie and tom connect, it is one premiership after another. Hopefully.
Obviously he's got to be paid a fair amount, and there's a definite crunch with our salary cap. Doubt he will leave, if we have a better season in 2025, he will be a one club player.
I agree
I just can’t see where he might go. Few clubs can afford him and those that can either do not desperately need him or aren’t really interesting destinations for a player like TDK.
He's beautiful
Heard on the graoevine he will sign a long term deal!
Not worried at all. Usual caveats apply about locking up at least a third of the salary cap on six guys, of course.
On balance, I think he will stay. He would only leave if it was an over the odds offer, like $2m a year. Money too good, got to go. Wouldn't blame him either. T d k does amazing things,,,

Looking forward to filming the official announcement!
5 years at least.
I reckon he’ll sign for 5 x 800k
Would love to see that happen,as for me his right up there as our most important player coming through.
@ He is absolutely primed
I really hope he stays. I think he will stay, I think there is still a chance Sam comes to Carlton, he was dropped a few times last year.
I believe that Carlton will chase Sam DeKoning at the end of next year.
his staying. can’t see him leaving
I thought you said “I’ll see it when I believe it. Loyalty means nothing” 🤔
@ after hearing his interview, perspective had changed 👀
@ love it
He's not going anywhere. In all fairness though other clubs will try and until he officially signs on and extends itll be a story at different times during the year
Gut feel is he'll turn down more money to stay
