I Remember one time watching Serge hold the backline together him and Gill , 2 flags for Serge , SOS ,did some amazing individual intangibles as to just how much more they were worth , like when he dived from the behind post to smother a ball off the boot , 100% stopping a certain goal , he won 2 Flags ,and Jack , I saw him on the fringe of his listing playing for the Magoos, but , he took a mark , against a direct opponent, he was out off possie, and worked himself in to a contest and extended his arm to punch the ball and then he opened his hand as the ball hit his palm , and rolled down his arm and he pinned it in , it was a SILVAGNI mark , Serge , Steve ,they could that sorta stuff , and I think he can get himself 2 flags , GO BLUES
He is meant to be there when we win no17. That’s my reasoning. That’s my hope. We missed him so much in that prelim against the lions. Especially when TDK was ineffective after qtr time
A quick thinker yes but not a very good executer of his decisions. His set shot goal kicking is generally speaking not great and also his foot passing leaves a lot to be desired in my view. His pressure is good, but pressure only takes you so far.We need more goals, and he doesn't kick enough goals, he is only about a goal a game man which is not enough from your third tall. We now have Mckay who can play in the ruck so we need 40 goals out of Jack otherwise we should play Moir or Kemp and see if we can get 40 goals or 2 goals a game out of one of them, I reckon.
I hope they play him forward and pinch hitting in the ruck like before he got injured, not sure he’s suited in defence tbh.Imagine if he becomes a third generation premiership player just he’s nonno and papa, pretty sure that’s never happened in the history of the game
After getting over the massive disappointment, I also put JSOS away in the back of my mind this season, but I’m so excited to see him back in 2025. Thanks for the reminder of that interview - it was a beautiful insight into his passion and appreciation for this Club and its fans 💙
Having spoke to Jack a few times while getting his autograph, he thanked me for asking for signature. I have barracked for Carlton since the 1960s and through all those years other than big Nick he is the most humble genuine person i have ever met.
JSOS 😍. I am sorry I missed the premier of this, but a great video. You're so right that players like Jack that can bring the crowd to their feet, cannot be understated for what that can do for the team. So looking forward to seeing Jack in the side, definitely don't mind where, but I think he's better playing ruck/forward I've also been meaning to tell you Tez, the new BA start looks amazing, I absolutely love it.
10:13 jack hit the nail on the head here. wish more of the players, coaching staff and other authoritative figures around the club had the same thought process as jsos, the fans aren't getting angry at the players and criticizing their poor performances because we hate them, we're getting angry because we want to see them thriving, to experience success, to be the team that has a winning culture and win the big dance, to be the team the whole comp fears.
I love Jack I’m with you Terry us supporters have to give him the appropriate amount of leeway as far as his performances next season coming off an acl In saying that I think Jack has the attributes as a person and a genuine footballer with high footy IQ to perhaps break the mould of what it looks like for a player to come back from an acl Throw in playing and training along side someone like Doc and I think Jack can be back to his best for a good chunk of the season Fwd/ruck definitely my preferred position for him in tandem with TDK 👍🏻
Good sides have versatile team focused role players. Blues fans I think get caught up thinking every player needs to be a champion or we clear them. We REALLY missed the balance JSOS gave us this year.
I’m worried that sos will end up like Kennedy this year without a defined position they will get rid of him at the end of the year. So hopefully they play him down back because I think it’ll be easier for him to solidify a permanent spot in the team as a lockdown defender than up forward
That can be the hard part of becoming a versatile player I suppose. The key difference is that Jack pinch hits in the ruck which very few can do with good effect
Umm not putting too much stock in him improving us. Not really sure what his role would be either.. Kemp is going forward to be that third forward, he can take a contested mark, will he be directly competing there, or is he going tp be a fill in when we are short of a ruck, because i cant see him pushing TDK out,
G'day mate, Jacks a SOS, to a bagger that's all the words needed. With you Tez deff the first injury is connectecd to his knee going. As for what's coming I worry it 'llbe as before for him, thrown around the field and the first dropped when things turn bum up. By the end before injury he was frustrated always the first out when he does the shittty jobs , he was worn down pyshically with bumping into the Gawns of the comp and lets face it our game style almost makes it impossible for a tall third in the forward line. I thought the club didn't appreciate him anywhere near enough. Making him more frustrated, players out of form , injury plagued but with a rep and the moment they can get out of a chair they're picked over him. A screwed pecking order mate. The season coming I hope the selectors give him a role, stick with it and let the bloke cement the spot, let someone else do the shitty fill the gap role. Give it to them Jack, Go Tez, Go Blues
Ruck-rover again? There's nothing else left unless he takes the the 3rd tall spot from Kemp. Considering the game plan and style is totally up in the air now and possibly going in a very different direction, is there even room for that? He doesn't add the speed everyone's screaming for. Maybe there will be an opportunity down back due to someone's injury, but it's hard to see what else. If he's seen as a utility, full stop, that doesn't even translate to playing every game, does it? The Club is always more important than the player....unless we're talking about Silvagni.
Sadly, I think so too. We'd all love the legacy fairytale.. but life ain't no fairytale. I fear the way the team and the game has evolved, there won't be a lot of room for someone of his somewhat limited abilities, despite his indisputable versatility, and undying spirit and effort. He will be underdone. He'd be more than handy if we get injuries. Could the number 1 shine again?
I believe JSOS can be a great player - but I think he could play as a midfielder, similar to Cripps - as he is very smart & stable type how could be feeding the ball out of the middle to Jagga, Walsh or Cerra - but not as a ruckman. Then he can be used up forward or down back.
Jack’s biggest strength when rucking is that he keeps his feet and his follow up work feeding the ball out. With the ability to keep his feet and find the ball he could be the ball winner who feeds the ball out to the offensive midfielders to get the ball into the forward line. He would also be a defensive midfielder if we didn’t have the ball. Silvagni is a similar size to Cripps and could be used as an option / alternative if needed.
He can be the old school ruck rover abd those second efforts which is exactly what we need in the modern game to help crippa n feed it out wide opening up the field
Hate to rain on everyone's parade but as a 36 year bagger member, Jack Silvagni hasn't shown me shit as a player. He's got a very very very long way to catch up to his Stephen and Serge.....
I agree because Mckay is a better option as a second ruck, and the only way Jack should be getting a game up forward is if he can up his goal kicking from a one goal a game man to two goals a game man.

You are big time now my friend! Congrats on everything let’s hope it coincides to 17 in 25!

Jack with the cup in his hand. Already crying.
Apart from the Silvagni legacy jack Silvagni has a great football brain . He reads the game well and is a quick thinker once he has the ball in hand .
A quick thinker yes but not a very good executer of his decisions. His set shot goal kicking is generally speaking not great and also his foot passing leaves a lot to be desired in my view. Jack last 5 games he played out of his skin kicked some great goals
tdk with jack is a good combo to me.
Agreed. More versatile than Pitto so is a great back up ruck.
💯 how good to have both our rucks to rest forward abd be dangerous, smart and kick goals
JSOS is that player the team need. play ruck, 3rd tall forward, take a speccy, and can team lift
He’s the spirit of Carlton
I hope they play him forward and pinch hitting in the ruck like before he got injured, not sure he’s suited in defence tbh.Imagine if he becomes a third generation premiership player just he’s nonno and papa, pretty sure that’s never happened in the history of the game
I’m with you. Not sure about him in defence other than in certain moments.
Let’s see how it plays out.
After getting over the massive disappointment, I also put JSOS away in the back of my mind this season, but I’m so excited to see him back in 2025. Thanks for the reminder of that interview - it was a beautiful insight into his passion and appreciation for this Club and its fans 💙
Heart and soul of our club. Im pumped to see him back in 2025. Watching Jack, Doc and Crippa lifting no 17 next year is going to be epic! Go Blues 💙
Having spoke to Jack a few times while getting his autograph, he thanked me for asking for signature. I have barracked for Carlton since the 1960s and through all those years other than big Nick he is the most humble genuine person i have ever met.
Love Jack I have no doubts on him next year, he may not play all games but I hope we get 17-20 games out of him next year. GO BLUES!!!!!

Love Jack, passionate player. I just hope he can mentally handle this season once certain news comes out soon
Yeah . I think his versatility is his strength. Love the fact that he doesn't whinge about it. Loves the challenge and gets the job done.
.
It’s going to be great watching him come back in so smart got everything u need same up forward pinch hit in the ruck ✅

100%
SOS Heart & Soul 💙💙 I can’t wait for 2025 season and how that looks, but with the talent we have it’s going to be a RIPPA season… GO BAGGERS 💙💙
Have to question Carlton’s injury management. Another Eason Andrew Russell is no longer at the club.
I love Jack

Hope Jack plays in the back line
Imagine him wearing the long sleeves ❤️

Will be playing alongside Weitering in defence next year

Love the intro
Something different!
Do you have any updates on TDK signing b4 the 2025 season starts?
Nothing at this stage! Will keep you updated as soon as I hear anything
I'll like to see him played as the sub.
Jack will be wearing Navy Blue for Flag #17.
Go blues
He'll be slow to start the season most likely but will definitely play a role in 2025

In Thailand at camp? Is Tez training Muay Thai? Would love to chat about this!
Let’s chat! Msg me
i think this will be the last we see of jack at carlton. its either kemp or jack i think
Sadly, I think so too. We'd all love the legacy fairytale.. but life ain't no fairytale.

He's as far from a midfielder as you can get
Especially in modern footy

@@petercraven7627 agree to disagree on this one mate, he's slow and not anywhere near similar to Cripps
He can be the old school ruck rover abd those second efforts which is exactly what we need in the modern game to help crippa n feed it out wide opening up the field
Is he best 22?
Carlton will win the 2025 premiership 🏆
Mark my words 💯

Shouldnt be rucking, the wear and tear on his knees are too much.
I don’t see how he gets into the side
