I love your videos about the regular guy who doesn't have a lot of money fishing and crabbing, and hunting, I also want to commend you on your patience with your son's and teaching them about the outdoors! Most kids today are only interested in the internet and video games, and their parents don't have the patience or time to get them outdoors! I look forward to seeing more enjoyable videos in the future!
You're not lying about those crabs. Got one latched on to my forefinger when I was 9 & 47yrs later still have the scar from it & remember how bad it hurt. But boy it tasted good when my mom cooked it & we ate it.
I hear you I'm on the Texas coast and back when I could fish before becoming disabled I used live blue crabs to catch monster black drum, and I've been pinched more than once and when they latch on they don't want to let go!
When i was a child, my neighbor would take me crabbin and she would catch crabs so big that they literally wouldn't fit in a 5 gal bucket. Then again we were crabbin at a power plant that had hot water flowing out all year. Ill probably never see another crab that big but at least i got to see it then and I'll never forget it.
Jared, I really enjoy your channel. I'm from right across the river in Belle Chasse born and raised and I'm a chef at Café 615 Home of Da Wabbit. Thank you for celebrating our wonderful way of life in S.E. Louisiana, keep up the great work. You make me proud.
Hog's head cheese and blue crabs, add shrimp and oysters and you have brought back some of the best of my childhood memories growing up in St. Bernard. Thanks. Looks like I need to plan a trip back home.
Been blue crabs all my life. Once one learns how to cook them they make for good eating. What I like about them is the taste of the salty water they live in and the sweetness. 🦀❤
Great video amigo!!!! Brings back so many wonderful memories... thank you Jared for sharing our south LA way of life - unlike any other place on the planet Earth!!
Watching your uncles catching the crabs reminds me of the old Al Scramuzzas Seafood City Commercials that were run back in the 1970s, If you ever get a chance see if you can watch one of those.
Gotta love me some Hogs Head Cheese on unsalted crackers!!!!! I lived in Maine before I joined the Army in 1977, so I dug my own clams & went lobster fishing with a local buddy in Winter Harbor!! Love those clams fried!! Yum Yum. Love Outside the Levee's Jared. Best local fishing program here in Louisiana!!!!!!!!
Awesome video, I truly love the 11:51 way you love your community, I’m from Arkansas and we don’t have a great assortment, Walmart is the closest place to buy , keep up the good work, thanks buddy
Love watching you guys' crab and eat. Damn I wish I was there to enjoy them too. The boys are too cute. They are learning for the future. Dad kudos to you for allowing the boys to crab and fish. The catfish sandwich looks so, so good. yummy to my tummy. I am a southern girl from North Carolina but now living in New York. I always passed on the hog head cheese. The soft-shell crab sandwich looks on the money. I went to buy some crabs to make a southern dish. I fry them and stew them down in gravy and corn meal dumplings, but they want 8 dollars a pound and they looked half dead and very small. I just walked away and said oh well none today. 🤣You should sell them and ship them. If you do that let me know. I would be the first to buy. Enjoyed your video.
Salute to u all for working very hard for family and to have something on the table from Singapore the concrete jungle hoping u all have a pleasant and enjoyable day every day👍👍👍👍👍👍 I do enjoy the content
Crazy RESPECT to Fishers/crabber’s etc!! Beautiful food from Super Duper working!! I’ve never been able to get a Blue Crab. Love seafood: lobster, crawfish, crabs, shrimp fish etc
I wish the wife and I could plan a trip and learn to drop set check sets and last but not least clean and cook. If we could do that we probably would plan a trip to Louisiana for a week of so. It looks like so much fun
Jared, I know what you do is a tough job, but somebody has to do it! LOL! I live in Jefferson Parish, Westbank of New Orleans, and I just have to say you are the best YTer I have found to show all what we have here in South Louisiana. You also explain everything you do soooo well. Glad I found you, and keep um coming. Thanks for doing what you do, and I hope you continue to bring great content to us. Be save, and God bless! Also, I love hogshead cheese. The MILD, not the HOT, and eaten just like you, on crackers.
I grew up in north Louisiana, have family in SE Louisiana...regret not spending more time in south Louisiana fishing. Love the food however! Thanks for showing the life in St Bernard parish area. Live in Alabama now but may have to make a vacation trip to your area.
I'm still traumatized from childhood seeing a whole hog head sitting in my grandpa's icebox staring at me before it was boiled down to make hog head cheese. The boiled eyeballs were the worst part of the experience! Your kids are the most enjoyable part of your vid, so inquisitive, polite and energetic.
Hey👋Jared, My brother You HAVE GOTA do more crab'n/fish'n with uncle Kirk and uncle Wimpy😆I just know they hafta be a whole lotta fun to be around😂they both seem like a couple of jokesters, I gotta party with these guys!!!🤣🤣🤣there ain't no show with that dude he's solid as a brick wall!!💪 Well my friend, i feel like ive be edjumakated at Jared's catch and clean blue crab college...🦀👀😄 Y'all have a Blessed weekend buddy🙏 also loved the long video!!!👍👍 Jay🕊🕊🕊
First time Im ever hearing about the Canary Islands and I would love to see you talk more about that. I grew up on the Gulf and love learning more of the history. PS- Hog's head cheese is not just a Louisiana thing. I grew up eating on the Gulf Coast panhandle in FL.
That golden catfish is called the fillet mignon of the fish best eat there is just found your channel. I love it. That hog said is way better if you put some hot sauce on it when I was younger, my parents would make that every fall and it was so good.
Like this combo video. Do y’all catch Bullfrogs?? Great to see the kids enjoying their catches. Show eating Blue Crabs 🦀 fried whole as a sandwich too.

Everything looks great and would to love to just taste blue crabs, I have NEVER eaten them. If you ever give a chance to come there and see a live catch and eat, please put me 1st to experience this in person with you and the pros. I didn’t know you can eat shell and all on the blue crabs.

If I was there I would not be sharing that plate of goodness. If I ever get to go south, I for sure will stop there. I live in Carson City Nevada so it is a bit of a drive. I haven't watched in awhile and I'm sorry. Hope you and the family are all doing well..take care ❤
Nice day out there. I crab some in florida but would like to get your way one day. First time visiting your channel. Going to check more out. What is the cost of an out of state license in order to fish and crab? Just subscribed to your channel. Nice informational video. Tight lines....
I think a lot of people would like to hear about the Spanish in Louisiana. There may be some connection to the old Florida, when the state reached all the way to Louisiana.
Hello Y’all ,, Vanishing Paradise,,, Tofield B : maybe it’s better to salvage what u kan from old lodge & start an Elevated New Lodge w many aspects of sinker cypress & old vintage artifacts on displays throughout the facility 😢❤😅🎉😊
A lil tip from Da Coo-Nass, buy the really cheap ‘knee high stockings’ & put your chicken in ‘em & tie a knot then put in your drop net. Your chicken/bait will last longer & their claws often get stuck so you don’t lose any.
when i was little girl i remember living in chalmette on jacob kinda across from a oil refinery. hurican betsy came along ang we moved to subset louisiana. i was very young
