Tears of joy and excitement run when listening to Debbie ,,,, what a great memory ,, at my 50 years, I still feel young listening to this music ,,,, someone thinks it is ????
We were blessed to have grown up the 80’s and heard the music from these “teen idols” like Debbie Gibson and Tiffany. They were nothing like today’s young artists that try to be “cool” and are raunchy, immoral, vulgar, half naked, etc. No tattoos, body piercings, plastic surgery, just humble ordinary teen girls who behaved and dressed like the rest of us, and were clean, chaste, upright, and were beautiful and sexy, but wholesome! Plus they were incredibly talented singers who were genuine and sincere with their music. They were great role models for other teens, and this is what we desperately need now days with the direction that society is heading.
I remember buying this tape at Longs Drug Store and listening to it on my Walkman wearing my headphones upside down to be cool. To be a kid in the 80s was so awesome.
I think she and Tiffany were around the same time. I remember Sci Fi Channel capitalized on nostalgia by making a monster movie that starred both Debbie and Tiffany. The commercials straight out said We know you don't care about our dumb terrible cgi monsters but we are giving you Tiffany vs Debbie It was giant snakes vs giant alligators with one championing one stupid monster and the other championing the other. I think the title was something like Mega Python vs Gatoroid. They sprinkled easter eggs to both of the singers like Tiffany sayin I think we're alone now and Debbie saying only in your dreams and at one point Tiffany yells I HATE THE MALL It was so stupid yet oddly entertaining.
I'm an African American female and I grew up during the time where they played black and white videos on Friday nights on Channel 17. I was 12 when this came out. If there was a karoke night or an 80s party, I would rock this song. This is still my favorite song by Debbie.

As time goes by I realize it's more about destiny than anything else. You have there a beautiful teenager who simply was born with good looks, good voice, musical talent, and simply created alone several songs that were unique and recognized as such by pretty much everyone that counts in the world, (and even those who did not...). And so many other people struggle so much and simply cannot do anything worthy of any use.

Who else sat by the radio as a teen on a summer day listening to Casey Kasems top 40 with the breeze flowing through your bedroom windows waiting for this to come on the radio so you could record it on your brand new, freshly opened memorex cassette tape? Oh the memories 😌💙
Used to listen to Casey on my transistor radio, while riding around on my stingray bike at night. He was a Great D.J. he never talked over the songs, or cut them short.
OMG..I soooo miss the 80's. This is now a depressing song for me - the 80's are Only in My Dreams.
My childhood crush…. She was and still is beautiful.
Then she went to the other team....
@@georgeelder8415no she didn’t lol
Debbie and Tiffany were tearing it up back in the '80s
before britney spears and christina aguilera.
Except Deb wrote and produced her own stuff and was a much better singer! Tiffany just did covers and was a mall singer.
@@mjreikiriot3302agree 100 percent
Rite on rite on
@@mjreikiriot3302 Yes it's too bad that Tiffany didn't take time to write some of her own songs. They could have been so beautiful!
Still Loving Debbie Gibson in 2024!!!

Nós brasileiros também!!
In deed❤️❤️
I'm 53 and back in those days, we didn't have pop stars in their teens, they were in their 20's...I can remember when Debbie G. came out and just being floored that she was only 16. She wrote and played the instruments on this song........Super talented!!
That’s wild. So I guess she’s only 50 now she’s probably still beautiful sad 😢
That’s a good thing that means the new generation is better at music
She also wrote all her own hits, you forgot that.
What I wouldn’t give to go back to the 80’s😕
Same!!
Preach!
Back when things were worse

Never thought about that Mariah Carey even covers Michael Jackson and def leppard

I didn't know that
Best decade love the 80's love Debbie Gibson Only In My Dreams
My Father had the cassette of this. I remember when he used to sing the chorus in school traffic, I was so embarrassed. Now years later, I'm now a father myself, I do the same thing to my kids!
AWESOME!!!☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️
I get that. All the oldies my father sang (badly) to torture me when I was a hip teen in the 80s I now sing to torture my own children. I miss him.
@@ERINYES10 awwww, hush my dear but at least you have fond memories of him that you can shared with your kids and your comment tickle me much😀
My dad made us watch Lawrence Welk, but much to his chagrin, I loved all music so he played right into my hands.
That's the cycle of life. You wake up one day, and you become your parents.
She was beautiful . . . and talented ❤
Loved this! Learned all the steps when I was 14 in my bedroom! Showed my daughter how wholesome female singers use to be but not anymore
Tears of joy and excitement run when listening to Debbie ,,,, what a great memory ,, at my 50 years, I still feel young listening to this music ,,,, someone thinks it is ????
Agree!
Only in my dreams can I go back to the 80s
Same 😭❤️
We were blessed to have grown up the 80’s and heard the music from these “teen idols” like Debbie Gibson and Tiffany. They were great role models for other teens, and this is what we desperately need now days with the direction that society is heading.
thats how i likes my young girls
She had such a fresh sound then and now. Brilliant pop music.
Debbie Gibson is true pop music star!
Happy 53rd Birthday Debbie Gibson!(Born August 31, 1970)😃🥳🎂🎉🎊🎈🎁🍾🥂🎀🌷🌹💐👍👏🙌
My GAWD I'm STILL in love with this gal, after 37 years.
All these years later and the scene with the smashing mirror is still one of the simplest, but coolest images I've seen in a music video.
I love debbie gibson & the 80s music
Debbie Gibson just really shined on FOX'S The Masked Singer. Only having 24 hours to prepare. Dang girl you rock. 😍
That was great
I remember buying this tape at Longs Drug Store and listening to it on my Walkman wearing my headphones upside down to be cool. To be a kid in the 80s was so awesome.
66 and still listening to this song that brings me back to an incredible time and feeling again.
Thanks Debbie.😘
the Princess of 80's!
Debbie Gibs is one of the 80s pop queens period. This song still sounds great!🎵
Before there was TIFFANY. BRITNEY AND TAYLOR THERE WAS DEBBIE GIBSON ❤
hell YEAH GREAT TIMES DEBBIE
And before that, there was Marie Osmond and Lulu and Annette Funicello…. ❤
I was 12 when this came out. I'm only now realizing how beautiful Debbie Gibson's eyes are. 😆
The 80’s was just the best era for everything hands down!!!!!
I was never a Debbie fan but today at 41 I love this song
I'm an African American female and I grew up during the time where they played black and white videos on Friday nights on Channel 17. I was 12 when this came out. If there was a karoke night or an 80s party, I would rock this song. This is still my favorite song by Debbie.
Me too. Did you get the body mind and soul LP?
Me too Black girl here. But my fave is Electric Youth!!!🎤🎧🎚🎙🎶📻🎹
Same here as a Hispanic. I was 10 when this song came out
I was also 12 years old. My favorite was foolish beat!
Black people and white people and any race of people alike can enjoy Debbie Gibson however they please :)
Debbie pumping at full-volume has the magical ability to restore the youthful energy and passion that modern-day America has been sucking from my life at a debilitating pace
I’m a 52 year old guy and I’m not embarrassed to say that I had a crush on Debbie Gibson back then.....I was a teenager in the 80s .....I still love listening to her music still now in 2021.....thank u for all the memories.....I’m an 80s music kinda guy still and always....
I jocked debbie so bad

Loved your tunes Debbie ❤️
I'm 51 and had a hard crush on her.
Refresh 80s music still wonderfull sound better than 20s
One of my all time favorite songs!
There were a TON of great 80s songs... but there were very few songs that make you feel different in a good way. This song is one of them.
Exactly! It just makes me feel a certain way, that not many songs can access.
@@JJ-ju6ky bruhhhhhh facts you just dont know how to feel 😿😿😿😿

I KNOW. DEBBIE GIBBSON AND. HER SONG "ONLY IN MY DREAMS" EVERYTI ME THAT I 👂 ""HEAR"" OR ""SEE ((👀))
Hard to believe it's been 34 years since this song was first released. Debbie thank you sharing your talent with us all these years!
Not ashamed to admit that this song and "Lost In Your Eyes" are still on my playlist. I'm 63 now, and watching this, I started to feel like a dirty old man, but wow, was she beautiful! I know she still is, and I'd love to see if she's still writing and performing.
Yup she's on tiktok
The way she spins around and jumps up and down. I can't look away.
I was a metalhead back in the 80s, listening to bands like Iron Maiden, Slayer, and Exodus but I would also listen to Debbie too. Friends would make fun of me but i didnt care.
Ray hahaha Thats awesome :)
same here and i really liked tiffany and samantha fox as well
Did you see her lip singing at the Macy's Day Parade 😟? She probably SHOULD switch to f'ing METAL😩
You do realize that they ALL lip-sync at the Macy’s parade?

April 2023..heard this while I was grocery shopping today ..got home and listened to it over and over ..such memories..loved the 80's. I was 18 and just started college when this came out 😍
80's era has the best collection of songs.
Debbie, Tiffany, Shelia, Madonna, Cindy,Lisa Lisa
Beautifully crafted song. I like my hard rock and metal but this song just flows well. Got a little 50s Do-Wop to it. Kick ass sax solo.
Debbie and Tiffany were perfect!
Francis Salcedo well duh!! Lol miss the 80’s so much🤙🤙
Francis Salcedo I agree with you there is nothing better then 80s music !
The saxophone solo makes the whole song! What a talented individual.
Listen to the Sax on George Michaels, Where did you heart go ?
I always had a cassette tape of Ms. Debbie Gibson back then i was in high school. Now im 50, still love to hear music of her.
One of my favorite female vocals in the 80s and, of course, the melodies of her songs and the stories behind it is oh so inspiring. Love it, debbie.
Thanks for the music.
Forgot about this song. Such a fun, cute song. Miss those times.
Quite talented, plays several instruments. She decided to work to obtain success, free will and a decision to work towards something are outside of a predetermined destiny.
I had a crush on her when I first seen her video. One of the greatest voices of the 80s. That is a fact 👌
Who didn't?
Grew up a few towns away from her!! It was amazing meeting her a bunch of times. She still looks amazing in 2023!!! ❤
It's amazing to see teens from the 80s! We looked more mature than the kids today! 😊
We WERE more mature than kids today (in some cases, dramatically so).

I was 15 when this came out. I was obsessed with her!!! Brings back a lot of memories. The 80s was so amazing 💕💯
Me too .. those days were magical 😢
I was too. I did my damndest to copy her style. I still love the Out of The Blue and Electric Youth album.
This is the first time I ever heard this song. I was driving this morning to pick up my friend to take him to work. Then I hear the magical line, "only in my dreams". And the theme of the song starts to play. Very incredible feeling. Like listening to the theme in a dream.

This song really does hold up well.
I hadn't heard it in 25+ years and it just popped into my head today...I'm surprised at how it still sounds fresh and exciting.
I play metal, but 80’s pop is in my veins . There is something about 80s music and life that we all want to go back lol.
It was still such a carefree time back then. Wish we could go back lol
