All great mathematicians are always very humble...love love them..

In my experience there are three categories of great mathematicians: The humble ones, the arrogant ones and the ones that are so uninterested in other people beyond their mathematical ideas that the whole concept of "arrogant" vs "humble" really doesn't apply to them. McMullen (who I met in person once) certainly is one of the most "down to earth" top mathematicians that I've met. Back then he also still had lots of hair.

His passion for lecturing in the way that he does is so rare, you feel and relate to his joyful chuckles and digest concept even if it's not your discipline.

What a humble man. He has a fields medal and still talks about how he was not very good at solving problems!

Great interview! French math is so strong because of the cultural aspect, also because of CIRM,
also because of the CNRS which has given many very talented people the space and peace to just think.

I would love the opportunity to take a complex analysis course from him. I am trying to do his math 213B exercises on Riemann Surfaces.

저는 나이 든 사람은 현실에서 어려움을 겪을뿐이지.양자단계에서는 똑같다고 생각해요.
